The food is meh. I ordered from them from seamless when it said the delivery time was 15 min and it was over an hour. You can do better, people of seamless!

Great food — but a bit pricey! I went to to get a bit of a discount and went all out with my baby and had appetizers, entrees and a bottle of wine!

This is a small place right around the corner from where I live… when my parents are in town to visit, I usually hit this place up(or one of the many Indian choices in Curry Hill) because it’s simple and dependably reliable. The sushi is average here — in my mind, it’s materially worse than Umi, which is just a few blocks further away and is the same price. But the overall quality is alright. The bento box is a good dinner value, and they get the simple rolls done well. Service is impersonal, but the food is delivered quickly and your glass of water won’t be left empty for long. Having eaten here many times over the past couple of years, I’m a bit surprised that they now are serving Thai food, on a separate menu, alongside the Japanese cuisine. To me, it doesn’t seem like a terribly informed business decision, but that’s not for me to review here. All in all, this is a very back-to-basics place that serves typical Japanese fare without doing much to make it memorable, for better or worse.

I think not! We recently stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon for some sushi. Well, first off, the fish in the cooler gave me a less than desirable feeling and I should have gone with my gut. It’s usually not good when the fish in the cooler looks, well…, old. Second, when a place is not that busy and you are the only one’s there for the duration of your stay, on a nice Sunday afternoon, that should be the second clue. However, we decided to give a try anyway. Well the sushi was definitely not fresh and very fishy tasting. I’ve had better boxed sushi at lobster palace in Chelsea Market. The service was mediocre at best and not that friendly at all(like we were inconveniencing them). We will not be giving this place a second glance. Yuck!

This place actually changed it’s name to Kiku Sushi, just as an FYI. I went with a group of 6 of us for lunch(made a reservation) and we had a really great time and meal. The prices were pretty reasonable and the service was excellent. My favorite was the eel, can’t go wrong there. The salad that comes with the lunch dishes was quite yummy as well. Nice, quick, fresh and great service. I would go back and would recommend. Check it out if you’re in the area!

Met up with my friend after the gym. I was hungry. Especially not eating anything the whole day, really worked up my appetite! They changed the name of this place. It is now called KiKi Sushi. It still has Aki Sushi 3 written on the front of their leather bound menus though. I had the sashimi deluxe combo with miso soup, and my friend had sashimi deluxe and well as a Mexican roll and a spicy tuna roll. Everything came out in a timely matter. The fish was fresh but not cut correctly. I am really picky about sushi, especially if they know how to cut properly! It makes a huge difference! I also tried a piece of a Mexican roll and spicy tuna. I liked how the Mexican roll was rolled tightly with rice and sesame seeds with tuna. The spicy tuna roll was not spicy enough to be a spicy roll. Service was mediocre, meaning the waitress disappeared during most of our meal. We were one of the ONLY tables in the restaurant, besides this one couple that was sitting in the back area by the sushi bar. I dont understand why she didnt notice our waters and tea needed to be refilled? I’m glad I took the chance to try this place, but I don’t think I will be coming back. I rather go to Hane because I enjoy the atmosphere much more.

Chances are, if you walked down 27th street, you’d miss this place. It lies directly across from Blue Smoke/Jazz Standard, which will probably grab your attention instead. It certainly didn’t catch my eye until I was brought here by a co-worker and I work across the street. This has quickly become my go-to for sushi at Lunch. I have ordered here a bunch of times over the past few months. For roughly 8 bucks, a bento box comes packed full of food: soup, salad, rice, California rolls and the Lunch option of your choice. While the sushi does have a tendency to fall apart, this place prepares your order in less than 10 minutes.

eh, it was okay. the sushi wasn’t well made– at least mine wasn’t. I was the only one in the restaurant at around 7PM. When I mentioned how the sushi wasn’t well made, what I meant by that is the rice was falling apart– never happened to me before and I eat A LOT of sushi and at a lot of sushi places. The staff was okay. eh. not much more to describe.

I’ve been here a couple of times by myself before checking out Jazz at the Jazz Standard across the street. Since I’m more of a sushi fan than a BBQ fan, I make a point to leave time to dine here before crossing the street for music with my friends. I like them. They are not very inventive, but they are clean and serve fresh sushi. I’ve been here enough times to know that I’ll never get sick eating here, that the rolls are always going to be good and that I don’t need to worry about getting stuck waiting for service. There is never a wait for tables, but the last time I was there I realized that they do a ton of takeout. I am very satisfied with Aki Sushi 3 and will go there again when I am in the neighborhood and need a healthy option to BBQ and Steakhouses. S~

Good price for a lunch deal, $ 8 for miso soup, salad and two rolls. But the rolls are just okay. My yellowtail scallion maki tasted too metallic and the wasabi wasn’t strong at all. Glad that they put dark lettuce in the salad though and the dressing is really tasty.

My lunch-spot of choice! Aki Sushi has great food & stellar service. My favorite? The bento lunch specials. I always get either the chicken/beef/salmon teriyaki … sans teriyaki sauce ;o) FYI — Aki Sushi is closed from 3 pm till 5 pm.

Never ate inside but this is one of my weekly dinner deliveries. my husband loves their sashimi delux and the chicken age. The prices are very reasonable and the food is dependable which keeps us ordering every week!

Aki Sushi is another solid neighborhood sushi place with tasty, fresh fish. If you’re in the east 20’s and craving sushi, then go here. The lunch roll special is a good deal. One of my friends loves the curry chicken here so I’m recommending that, too. I don’t know how many times I’ve eaten here, and I keep going back because it’s good and cheap.
