AG Kitchen Manhattan, NY Awesome dinner with business associates. Great wine, crab cake sliders, bacon wrapped dates. Amazing!

I came in to AG Kitchen for lunch today, having gone to the museum of natural history in the morning I needed a little pick-me-up. The restaurant is charming and deceptively large; there is a dining room, a patio, a bar, and what seemed to be a lounge as well! I sat on the patio and had a lovely waitress named Michelle as my server. She was so attentive, sweet, and polite. She frequently checked in on me to make sure I was enjoying my meal without being overly clingy(so frustrating when servers seem to hover)! She even wrote down detailed directions for me to get to my next destination downtown. She definitely went above and beyond! I enjoyed my Baja fish tacos and a small, but lovely and incredibly fresh side salad. I will definitely recommend AG Kitchen to my local friends and family, and will be back soon hopefully to sample more of their menu.

The food had well balanced flavor. Their guacamole was so fresh. The drinks smelt as good as they tasted. The atmosphere was perfect and the server truly cared about our overall experience. Unfortunately, their samba chicken made me very ill. Maybe one day AG Kitchen can redeem itself.

So I just ordered the taco’s and guacamole and was super impressed… right up until I bit into a piece of plastic wrap. Luckily it was the last taco and not the first. Very disappointing for a $ 30 dinner to have that lack of awareness of the food coming out of the kitchen.

Love this place! Food and staff are excellent. We had dinner here the other night and a waiter bumped into my wife’s face with his serving tray. He was so sorry and actually told the manager who sent over guacamole and dessert on the house! Burgers are my favorite. Good bar. Check it out!

My husband decided to go out last night and left me stuck at home with the baby. Around 8 pm he asked if I would like him to bring me food and I said yes. I ended up eating popcorn for dinner while he stayed out until 2 am without a courtesy text. I woke up this morning and saw the burger in the fridge, and although I wanted to be spiteful by not eating it it was packaged so beautifully I decided to take it to work for lunch. Well let me tell you I just microwaved this burger and after tasting it I’m not even mad anymore. I just googled the restaurant menu and it looks like I got the«Manhattan Latin.» This burger is totally soggy and old and still tastes better than any freshly made burger I’ve had in New York(except for J.G. Melon, it’s a tie there.) I can’t remember the last time I was so impressed with food I had to leave a review in between bites. Thanks AG Kitchen and I’m sure my husband will also thank you.

Absolutely AWFUL service. We were seated and then waited more than 15 minutes to get served! No one even came over to fill our water glasses. I mean there were 4 waiters wandering around who seemed to check on everyone else but us. We almost left when finally someone(not our waiter) took our order. Then it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks and we proceeded to be ignored the rest of our meal. The food was actually pretty good but because of the service I will not be back. Clearly this place does not know how to manage a restaurant. Maybe if they at least gave us a free app or drink I would consider returning and would not have left such a shitty tip.

We stopped by for a very late lunch/early dinner. Apparently you can make reservations on Opentable, but it didn’t look busy when we arrived. $ 12 Thai Me Down Cocktail — pineapple, Thai basil tequila, lime I was intrigued by the name. The cocktail was very fruity. The best part was savoring the pineapple once the drink was gone. $ 16 Cubano with roast pork, black forest ham, swiss cheese, pickles, mustard: Touted as NYC’s best Cubano, I’m not sure how it gained that name. The ingredients are not unique. It seemed like they used pressed Hawaiian rolls for the bread. It was definitely a voluminous sandwich. It looked like they used an entire loaf of Hawaiian rolls for this sandwich. I enjoyed it, but it was a little dry. $ 18 Samba Chicken — 24 hr marinated, dry charcoal rub, with honey glaze and spicy mojo: It seems like they paired the chicken with a Hawaiian roll too. They sure like Hawaiian rolls here! Kind of a confusing Cuban/Latin restaurant, in my opinion. The chicken was also dry, but chicken breast tends to be dry, so I wasn’t surprised. The sauce helped it a lot. I wouldn’t come back here for a Cuban sandwich or for a meal. I don’t think they are worth the price. I’m more interested in their other cocktails and their happy hour plates though.

Thank you for probably the most delicious lunch I’ve had in NYC. The service was fast once I was seated and the server was really attentive. I had the soup of the day which was creamy tomato and a grilled cheese sandwich with avocado and ham. The soup was seasoned perfectly, not too bland or salty. The grilled cheese was crispy and soft and buttery without being too greasy. I will definitely be back.

I really enjoyed my experience at AG. I’m rarely in UWS, but this specific time I was meeting up with a friend who lived in the area. The ambiance was intimate and calm. It gave kind of a classy vibe yet still felt very casual. Our waiter was absolutely awesome. He was very friendly, not too pushy to take our order, and very accommodating. I wanted to order the Surf & Turf, but it seemed like a lot of food and a hefty price tag. So I went with the meatless burger, which came with a side salad or fries. The burger was delicious. I’m a big fan of veggie burgers, so I really enjoyed the mix of beans, corn, and other fresh ingredients. I got the side salad, which was fresh and a great balance. It was even on a multi-grain bun with other veggies, with made it not too filling. Just enough. My friend ordered the pork tacos, which looked amazing. Unfortunately, my friend was disappointed about the size of his meal. He’s a big guy, so he likes eating a lot. I felt bad that they were mini tacos and didn’t satisfy, but they looked delicious. The menu was a little limited, but still good. I ordered wine, which was a little on the pricey side for class coming from a cheap bottle(like $ 10). I used their Unilocal coupon for a free sangria or draft beer too. USEIT! The sangria was soooo good, and most importantly, on the house.

Was seated quick with a reservation the day before Thanksgiving. This worked out perfectly for us because it was half way between our hotel and the Macy’s inflation. The food came out super quick, and the service was excellent. Our server was very nice, and the free sangria check-in special was awesome! There were a few aspects of the food/drink that we didn’t love, but that was due to personal preference. We only got appetizers and drinks, but everything was made to perfection and reasonably priced!

I wasn’t impressed. I found the menu rather limited. These atmosphere was nice especially if you get a window. The menu was limited it was not a hearty menue. Service was OK. Not overly chatty Food was OK Value & portion were OK. Go there hungry not starving. Cost. Typical. UWS Washrooms: Could use a cleaning

I liked this place. My companion and I shared a paella for two — which was more like paella for four. Though we came nowhere near finishing it, I really enjoyed it. And the guacamole sampler was also very good. My dining companion erred on the side of caution and ordered the guacamole mild. She didn’t want to risk it being too spicy, with which I agreed. Still great favors. A couple of folks have mentioned the service being unremarkable, but I was very satisfied. The waiter was pleasant and attentive. We were going to a show at the Beacon and he made good on his pledge to have us there on time. I would definitely return.

Food was above average and the drinks flowed freely. The service lacked some finesse, but overall AG Kitchen was a good time. We started with guacamole, which was very standard. Not bad, not exciting. I had the Samba Chicken and dinner mate had the BBQ Shrimp. Chicken was moist and sauces it came with were flavorful. The garlic roll may have been the highlight. The dish the chicken is served on could be bigger or better designed — the little trays made it tough to find a spot for the bones. But that’s very picky. Friend loved the shrimp. Our server was friendly. But sometimes was not around when we needed her.

Go to AG Kitchen if you want what I had last night. Sat at the bar and had the following; –Bad service. Bartender didn’t hand me a menu, greet me, follow up, ask how things were or interact with any of the guests there. –Stale corn chips. –The worst fish tacos ever. The fish was clearly old, tasted bad, no crisp in the fry only mush.

I went to ag kitchen with my girlfriend two nights ago and it was great! The waitress is very kind and always makes sure we have what we need. We shared calamari crisps which were awesome and could fill one person if not shared. Then I had a Cubano sandwiche. I must admit it was the best I have ever tried. Not too dry, not too juicy, the perfect match. Moreover it is huge. My girlfriend had a samba chicken which was definitely worth it. My cocktail ” her name was Lola” was well prepared and delicious. Our shared dessert was amazing, a hot and melting chocolate cake especially made for two, with cream and vanilla ice cream. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wishes to try the Cubano sandwich in NYC.

Checked in with Unilocal for a free drink. It took nearly an hour for the food to arrive and it was not worth the wait. Don’t let the free samples pull you in.

Having eaten Latin food in many places in NYC, NJ and Miami, I am surprised the reviews are mixed. We thought the calamari; mahi mahi, pork tacos, banana bread/icecream.bananas dessert and latte were all excellent, very good values for Columbus Avenue and interesting. Service was very attentive and pleasant. It was somewhat loud. We were able to linger without being rushed on a Saturday night. There are many other dishes I look forward to trying.

I randomly stumbled upon this restaurant after spending the day at the AMNH. We walked in on a Sunday around 3 pm and the place was relatively empty. The inside is really spacious with a modern, colorful décor. We were seated and since we had never been there we took some time to look over the whole food and drink menu. We were probably sat for around 5 minutes before anyone even came over to greet us. It was so long that I almost got up and asked the hostess who our server was. I decided on the chopped salad with chicken with the mango cocktail. My friend ordered the pork tacos and a beer. The food & drink menu looked really yummy, the milkshakes sounded especially good but I was trying to keep it on the lighter side which probably ended up being a mistake. I also noticed that they make guacamole for you at the table but again, I missed out on that. The salad came in two sizes and of course, my server recommended the larger size. It was tasty and I liked how they didn’t drench it in dressing. However, I don’t think the portion was worth the $ 18 spent. My friend said his tacos were also delicious but they were TINY, 4 tacos that were about two bites each for $ 11. My cocktail was a perfect combination of sweet and strong and it ended up being the highlight of my meal. Service was decent– the busboy continued to keep our water glasses full but our server only checked on us one time even though the place wasn’t busy. Overall, the place was decent but I probably wouldn’t go back. I don’t think the quality of the food/service was really worth the price. A salad and a cocktail ran me about $ 35 with tip. I would however, go back for their daily happy hour and just do the cocktails. ***I noticed this after I left, if you check in on Unilocal you can get a free dessert***
