I bought some soup from a former Mister Softee truck that’s been painted red. It sits on the south east corner of E. 82nd Street and 5th Avenue. Directly across the street from the Metropolitan. I had a lobster bisque that is pretty good. It’s a fish stock based cream soup with hardly any lobster meat, which is okay because the cream not only fills you up, it tastes good too. They also serve veggie beef, clam chowder and a few others staples which I haven’t tried as of yet. A 16 ounce container with crackers or bread goes for $ 4.00 . If anyone knows or finds out the name of the soup truck please post.
