Favorite spot for hotpot and BBQ! It’s is a bit intense to go here so make sure you have a reservation because this place is always packed. Price is not too bad and remember, you can have an eat all you can hotpot, bbq, or both! The kimchi broth is my favorite! Although this is always such a crowded place I like the fact that service is good. Your server always checks up and even does the grilling going for you and also they change grill plates often to keep everything fresh and not charred and burnt. Don’t forget to check in and get a free ice cream for dessert on your way out!

This place is good and delicious. It is a all you can eat place. You have 3 options. You can BBQ or hotpot or both. If you want to eat here, I suggest you to make reservations a week ahead of time. This place is always packed. The first time I came her around 7, I had to wait 2 hours just to get seatings

Ended up sharing a table because the wait was so long… I would suggest making a reservation or showing up early because it gets so packed… for good reason! Cheapest hot pot in the area and Chris, our waiter, was a gem. Angel sent from heaven. This man deserves a medal. Hell yeah.

«…If ur havin’ gurl problemz, I feel bad for you Son… I got 99 problemz, but a b*tch ain’t one…» And if you are having such problems, take a seat, wear your most hated clothes(perhaps that shirt she got you that’s a shade of pink/purple that you’re not particularly fond of… and happens to be a bit tight around the neck), and set up shop at this establishment for the next two hours of your life. Why wear clothes that you’re not particularly fond of? Well, you’re gonna smell like(delicious) hotpot by the end of your two hour sesh… and unfortunately, the scent does not exactly do the best job of attracting whoever/whatever it is you’re probably looking for(i.e. someone with standards). With that considered, clear your post-meal docket, be prepared to either dry clean or incinerate the clothes on your back(after your meal), and avoid running into anyone remotely rich/successful/attractive until after you’ve had the opportunity to take a shower(or bathe in Aqua Velva). Don’t let all these caveats to hot pot style dining turn you off. Yes, while it may appear that you may actually be increasing the amount of «problemz» in your life by cooking heaps of meat in a very«aromatic» broth… the benefits reaped, when weighed against the complications that you may have to suffer, are enjoyed to a much higher extent. Allow me to number the ways… 1) Hot pot is healthy for you. No deep frying here. No batter dipped, sugar laced, or highly processed foodstuffs either. Just you, a cooking broth of your choice, and a staggering selection of(allegedly) fresh meats, carbs, seafood, and veggies. While the shell-covered seafood can be a bit problematic to work with(you will burn off your fingertips), everything cooks fast, tastes great, and all those fatty meat impurities drip off into the broth, turn into steam, go up into the sky, and become stars. 2) You won’t break the bank. $ 21.99 for all you can eat in a two hour span!!! For most non-gluttonous god-fearing Christians, it doesn’t typically take two hours to complete a meal(unless, of course, you’re at the mercy of slow service). With that in mind, two hours does/will/should serve as a satisfactory amount to stuff your face; the speedy/efficient wait staff does a crack job of insuring that heaps of uncooked protein(and maybe some roughage) be brought to you upon request. And for those of you who loathe the apparel, that you chose to wear that day, to such an extent that even this writer cannot even fathom it… there is an option to turn on the grill and enjoy some KBBQ along side your hot pot. I’ve not had the daring to pull of such a maneuver(as of today), but perhaps sometime in the near future. In summation, this spot definitely deserves a spot on your list of hot pot joints. The added bonuses of a Unilocal check-in offer(for free ice cream) and free b-day hot pot(just show your ID and be within 3 days of your birthday) are just the proverbial icing on the cake with a cherry on top, respectively.

I came here with a party of 7 with a reservation for 7:30pm so we avoided the 2 hour wait most people mentioned when they did walk-ins. We were quickly seated in the upstairs area(I liked the more private area but those are already occupied) and given a bag to put your jackets/clothes in so the barbeque and hot pot smell didn’t absorb into your jacket. Quite a neat idea so nobody walks out smelling like their mom’s cooking! Two of my friends opted for the Korean BBQ while the rest of us chose the hot pot option. They had a pretty good selection of ingredients ranging from beef, lamb, fish, fish balls, tofu skin, vermicelli, udon noodles, spinach, watercress, mushroom, shrimp, oysters, and a lot of other vegetables, seafood, etc options! Pretty impressive as I didn’t really have high expectations upon coming here. I’m not too sure what the options for the BBQ but it was definitely mostly meat. Moment of truth. the BBQ was not good at all! I couldn’t finish the one piece of beef I tried because it just had no flavor to it and could not masticate it. Sharing is actually not allowed but I’m sure everyone does it so the servers tend to turn a blind eye.(Just make up for it in tips). On the other hand, the hot pot was edible but the spicy soup base was much too oily with way too many red pepper chunks but after a couple of soup refills, they were diluted to a less oily consistency. It wasn’t spicy ATALL — tasted a bit ginger-like but definitely non spicy. So much for a «Spicy» base. The cooked ingredients were not bad so there’s no complaints on the hot pot side. +1 for that. Service is really good here! Every 5 minutes a server will come by to refill your water, soup base or take your requests for any ingredient refills. They’re also polite and not rude. Since it was my friend’s birthday, we took advantage of the free birthday meal(3 day window) so they dimmed the lights and played the Happy Birthday on the speaker with the servers clapping and singing along. We witnessed at least 6 birthdays within a 2 hour span so kudos to these servers for keeping up their energy level! The bill came to $ 156 for 7 people($ 5 Charge for the birthday but you also have to bring a cake at least 8″ in diameters) so it wasn’t bad. Including tips, each person was only a little bit over $ 30 and we were definitely full. If you check in on Unilocal, facebook, add them on wechat, you get a free ice cream too. As long as the service is still good and they work on improving their BBQ option, we will be returning customers. Cheers!

Service improved A LOT. Our waiter was dopeee this time around. I went with two white girls and I honestly was just too lazy to give them any run down. But all was good because our waiter explained everything from head to toe for them while I sat there playing games on my Iphone. He never stopped checking up on us either. He also couldn’t stop laughing at one of my friends whining about the pig blood I ordered, ha. We also went on the night of the big powerball drawing(1.5bil?) and 99 Favor Taste gave each table a $ 2 powerball ticket. That was sort of cute. Price is right as long as you don’t fall for the BBQAYCE option. At $ 21.99 for AYCE hotpot, drinks not included, 99 is still one of the cheaper options in Chinatown. The food was fairly fresh this around. I wouldn’t say the best quality out there, but much better than that one time I came and was served all frozen stuff. I still can’t get over how bland their broths are though. Pork Bone tasted like water and I had to add chicken powder to the soup base. My friend’s Ma-La spicy broth was more oily than it was spicy.

You might be thinking, what does the restaurant’s name mean? Did they mean«Flavor» instead of «Favor»? But wouldn’t the«Taste» then be redundant? L or no l, it doesn’t matter, because this place is delicious. I came here on a chilly wintry Saturday to get hot pot with six friends. I was stunned that there was the option of AYCE hot pot, AYCE Korean BBQ, or both! At $ 23 pp for hot pot, it was an incredible steal. With our large party, we had to have three people use their individual pots while the other four shared the big one. Both the herbal and spicy broths were fantastic soup bases, and the service was fairly quick and accurate. While the space is large, this place fills up quickly, so the wise thing to do is to place a reservation. I had to change my reservation twice, and even so they were able to accommodate. Bring your SO, bring your friends, hot pot is always a good time, and 99FT(I’m coining the acronym) is the best place to be.

Huge space. Sweet hot tea once you walk in. You have a choice of BBQ or hot pot. Why not do both? The menu has some really good stuff. They have everything you want to grill. It isn’t Korean BBQ but it’s good. Beef tongue is my grilling favorite. Endless amounts of meat. A large selection of broth for your hot pot. You can only choose one. The chili was good but oily as hell. The FJ fish balls with pork inside is the best. Best thing though was the dry ramen they give you. The noodles soak up all that delicious broth. You must get it. Other than that, it’s just your usual hot pot items. They’ll give you plastic bags for your coats, so it won’t stink. Would definitely come back again and try the pork knuckle broth.

Cheap All you can eat menu. Unlimited supply of meat, seafood, and vegetables for a hot pot of you choice! There is a sauce bar where you get to make your own dipping sauce. I personally go with a bowl of soy sauce, vinegar, lots of scallions, garlic, and chili paste. Some advice: you can only choose either hot pot or BBQ, they don’t serve half n half. But either option you go with, make sure to wear cheap clothes because the smell of cooked meat is going to stay with your hat, your purse, your hair till the next time you hit the shower.

Craving for some hotpot on a random day! Came here with my friend & bf. Got there around 7:30 pm & waited for 10minutes. Thank God this place is huge! Got seated & since were really hungry we got the all you can eat hotpot & bbq. I love how you can pick 3 different type of soup base for the hotpot. We got the spicy style, congee style & pig bone. We had beef, fish cake, fish fillet, fish balls, shrimp, corn & a lot more! For the bbq we had duck meat, pork belly & short ribs. Actually, I did enjoy the hotpot. The sauce is so tasty. Love all the selections! Its just kinda confusing to pick. But its delicious! For the bbq, It taste alright. Korean bbq is better. I didn’t like the duck meat too. We got some pitcher of watermelon smoothie for our drink and its good for 3 to 5 people. We had 2 drinks each person since its just the 3 of us. We paid about $ 31 per person for both hot pot & bbq but if you just wanna get the hotpot its $ 21 without tips and I think its more than enough. We just listen to our tummy while ordering & never think about how much food were going to have. Haha! All in all, I’m satisfied with my dinner! Going back next time but I’m just gonna get the all you can eat hotpot.

If you’re in the mood for hot pot, there aren’t many options in this part of town. This place isn’t amazing but will do the trick. They offer hot pot, kbbq or the combo but I normally just do the hot pot. For $ 21.99, it’s all you can eat in a soup base of your choice. The server will then input your order into their tablet(somehow they always forget something though). Sauce stations are on both floors with the standard salty sauces. It’s usually a mess and there is no sneeze guard either. Eh. I tend to stick to the seafood and veggie offerings, ordering an abundance of fish(tofu, balls, fillets), enoki mushrooms, bok choy and carb loading in the end with some vermicelli and udon noodles. This usually ends up being one of my healthier meals of the week, hha. There’s always a line here so if you can make a reservation ahead of time, that’s the way to go. You’ll likely still not be seated at your exact reservation time but it’ll be close. BTW — 2 cc limit. 2 hr limit.

I’m so disappointed at this place because I’m not feeling well after the dinner here days ago. I already made sure my meat/seafood was cooked long enough so that eliminated the possibility of sickness from eating raw. And now I started to question the sanity condition of this place and the freshness of food. I did not taste anything weird, so I cannot say anything about the latter part; yet the sanity was definitely something in concern. I remembered once I had a glimpse at their kitchen and got shocked at how greasy and unorganized things inside. In general Chinese restaurants suffered from the same issue and that had been partially compensated by the low price — it did not work for me and it will be a pass for me forever. I did not rate it one star as I still believe this place had a great taste; nevertheless it is apparently not worthwhile for risking your health here.

I had a reservation made for 7:00 but was not seated until about 7:30 on a Friday night(11⁄06) but that was fine because the hostess was so friendly. She was always smiling and happy through the massive amount of people and that really made me feel great. We had a cake and they were very accommodating to place that in the fridge. Our waiter and waitress was Jojo and Jimmy. Jojo was first to attend to us but Jimmy was the follow up which made our experience really pleasant. He always came back to check to see if we need refills and would crack jokes as well. And when they took out the cake they would first clear the table of the mess we had when we ate and that was really considerate. My experience on 11⁄06 made me happier that 99 stepped up their customer service. Will definitely return and as my friend says«you go here way too often.»

A must try restaurant in Chinatown. Whether your celebrating a birthday or entertaining a friend from out of town, this is the perfect place to be. Relatively new in Chinatown, the décor and ambience is super nice. It has two floors and booth seatings. They also have a seating area for those who are waiting. The waiters and waitresses there are top notch for Chinatown. They are very knowledgeable of the food and offer exceptional service. If requested, they can give you a red apron to wear during ur stay. I would recommend making a reservation if coming here for dinner, if not there will be a long wait time any day if the week. You can eat free on your birthday and get free ice cream to go when you check in on Unilocal. Due to its popularity, they have time limit of 2 hours. 2 hours is more than sufficient amount of time needed to eat there. I’ve never exceed that allowed time in the many times I’ve been there.
