Sandwiches are huge and fresh. The pastrami is a good choice. As midtown delis go, this one is a great choice for grab and go. However do not order off the menu. The guys behind the counter have no idea what is on it and will go from helpful, to tell me what you want, to get out of my face in 10 seconds. Go in with that level of expectation and you’ll have a good time.

This place is great. Old school deli huge portions decent price for times sq standards. Quick tip. The best way to order a sandwich is not off of the boarshead menu. Just tell them exactly what you want n how you want it. The cooks will not know what each sandwich contain off the boarshead menu. If you get Tony to make your sandwich he might be a bit slow but he takes lots of pride in his work and as he should, his sandwiches are the best!

Gave them a 2nd chance against my better judgement. I hadn’t stepped foot in the store in almost 3 years… I walk by it almost every day. At 4:45PM the store was EMPTY except for one lone gentleman scratching scratch tickets. I asked the rude cashier if he could help me find Molson beer, because it was on the beer price list. He refused to help me and just said to go look for it myself and whatever is there is what they have. Well no kidding… thanks for nothing again 47 gourmet. I needed 1 bottle of molson for my co-worker as a nice gesture… I was unable to find it, and the store clerk refused to help me so I settled for one bottle of modelo. the price was $ 3.50 for one bottle… that’s $ 21 for a 6 pack for MODELO. I know it’s NYC but that’s just wrong. Don’t waste your money here, the workers are horrible and will put you in a bad mood with their rude attitude. …And 47 gourmet? What a misnomer. There is nothing gourmet about this place. Biggest joke in nyc.

Pleasantly surprised. We were in a pinch and needed some quick eats, New Years Eve 10pm. Any other place we could get to was way too crowded. So we decided to give this«dive» deli /convince store a go. My first impression was this place is gonna suck big time but a guys got to eat. I ordered a corned beef sandwich and the wife ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich. Maybe our expectations were low or a good induced buzz can make subpar food taste really really good. I enjoyed my corned beef sandwich and my wife said her chicken parmesan sandwich was tasty. I would return even if I wasn’t in a pinch or buzzed.

I work down the street from this place, and have gotten both breakfast and lunch here several times. The food here is pretty good considering it’s just a deli. They have a great selection of meats and cheeses and they make nice big sandwiches for reasonable prices considering how close they are to Times Square. They also have an interesting selection of both easy– and hard-to-find snacks and candies on a large table in the middle of the place. However, the people who work there are rude. They have dozens of signs with their ‘specialty’ sandwiches that have probably been printed off the internet. A couple of times I asked for one by name and was received with blank stares. After pointing to the sign, they rudely asked me what was on the sandwich I asked for. Honestly, they don’t HAVE to have these signs up and just be a tell-us-what-you-want-to-eat-and-we’ll-make-it place. Pick one. Four stars for the food, minus one for the rude people making the sandwiches. The cashier was always perfectly nice.

Great place if you’re picking up and bringing back. The sandwiches are huge and cheap. Food is always fresh.

Rude crappy Mrs. Li and rip-off Times Square prices. Blah. They are lcoated between the subway and my office, otherwise I would avoid this place at all costs.
