Early Saturday morning 1am to be exactly my best friend and I decided to stop at 205 for a drink, the line was long and we were told it would be about a 15 min wait, which in NYC Line waiting that wasn’t that long so we decide to wait. Before I go on with the review I would like to describe my BFF and I .We are both African American women, who we were dressed very nice, because we just finished having diner ! When we got to the front of the line the Caucasian door lady asked if we had reservations, we told her No, she stated they were only talking reservations because it was packed downstairs we told her we would wait, she then told us we had to exit the line Something told me to wait to see if they would tell the same thing to the 5 Caucasian women that were behind us. To my surprise she let them in ! I went over and asked one of the girls in the group if the had a reservation and she said NO ! Im writing to ask if the owners if they are aware what happens at the front door, or if it’s a policy that is implemented ! Either way its discrimination!

Normally love going to this place and usually always have a good time until me and my friends decided to take our other friend whom was visiting from Hawaii there on Friday night at 11:30pm. We went up and this caucasian lady asked if we had reservation and we told her no we do not, so she told us we had to wait. So we stood in front waiting and two Caucasian couple comes up and she asked them the same thing. Do you guys have reservation and they said«no we do not we just wanted to get a few drinks». She did not tell them to wait to the side, she asked them for there ID’s and allowed them to go in. She then noticed that we saw what happen and she told the African American guy what that she did. Which was not allow us in but allowing them in. She then went down stair when we came up to question why they were allowed in and we were not. The gentlemen asked what she told us in response and then told us they do not make the rules which made no sense at all.

This place is horrible, after waiting on line for 15 – 20 mins we got to the front and were told by the door girl that it was reservation only as it was really packed. We said we would wait and were told we could not, had to exit the line cause they were not letting anyone else in. The line was pretty long behind us so and no one else was getting of the line so we waited to see if anyone was getting in, the girls behind us(Caucasian) were allowed in, we asked one of them if they had reservations and they said no. This establishment clearly has a preference for a certain skin color and discriminates if you are not Caucasian. I have never experienced racism as such until tonight. I will never return and I do not recommend this place to anyone.

We went to Club 205 after dinner to celebrate my brother’s birthday. One of our friends bought a table paid the bouncer at the front door to get us all in. When we got downstairs to go to our table, the bouncer told us we weren’t allowed down and that we weren’t getting the table. Our friend informed the bouncer that we paid $$ for the table and that was miscommunication. The bouncer immediately pushed our friend against the wall and as my friend went to regain his balanced, he was pushed again, followed by another bouncer coming in and putting my friend in a headlock while the other bouncer started punching him in the gut and pushed him in the back exit(which is a brick stairwell). I started screaming help and our other guy friend went to break it up, the bouncer grabbed him by the throat and threw his face against the wall. I then started crying and screamed for the bouncer to stopped, he then grabbed me by the arm and threw me like a rag doll against the wall — I then panicked and screamed bloody murder while rushing up the stairs. Our party met the Manager– Joe at the front, where he wanted to know what exactly happened. We told him the entire story and explained it was: 1. The bouncers initiated the assault 2. The bouncer tricked one of our friends — which a bouncer is not entitled to do 3. The bouncers pushed and physically threw two of our friends out of the establishment — not allowed to do 4. Restrained our two friends in a chock/joint lock — not allowed to do 5. The bouncer physically assault me, a 110 lbs. female that was not involved in the altercation The Mananger, Joe, heard our concern and anger and then offered us money in compensation. Joe ended up paying us over $ 100 dollars to try and rectify the situation. To be clear, Joe said he will review the surveillance video — Which WEARETHRILLEDABOUT because it will support our case. Yesterday, we filed a joint complain against the 205 Club establishment for assault for 3 people, failure to protect your patrons, and physical damages. The bouncers at this club did not act within their legal obligation and used excessive force of two males and one female.

I had to give it at least 1 star but I would have liked to give it 0 stars. Refused to let our group in even if we waited to go in in groups of 2 and wait for people to come out. Ridiculous!

Worst service ever! This place reached max capacity not even 25 mins after they opened. My friends and I were waiting next door for this place to open and as soon as they opened we went in line. We were 12 people and the bouncer didn’t want to let us in. They said they were already at capacity for walk ins. This is ridiculous! Especially when only a few minutes later they tell two guys to stand in line and then let them in. We wanted to wait and be let in as people left but even that was not permitted.

Got here at opening time and they wouldn’t let us in because there was 10 people. Rude door staff.

Worst service EVER! They wouldn’t let my group in because we were 12 people and max capacity was 100. I wish I could give it zero stars but I have to give one. Don’t come here!

I’ll never come back here. There is something really disturbing about an establishment that does not blink an eye when a patron is injured due to their negligence. There is a steam pipe at the base of the stairs that is only partially protected with rope. I was leaving last night and trying to get through the very crowded doorway when I leaned on the wall to squeeze by some people and put my hand right on the exposed portion of this pipe. I notified the woman working the entry because I thought she might want to know that there’s a pretty bad hazard in a very high traffic area and her response was«I know» and then I was ushered away by the doorman. I’m blown away by the lack of concern and then the disrespect of the doorman to tell me to keep moving when I was just trying to help. I understand accidents happen and I wasn’t mad but now I’m disgusted. Stay away from businesses that don’t care about their customers.

I live close by. I couldn’t be more upset about this place. I’ve been here a few times and I have always left disappointed. I do not plan on ever coming back again. I think the ownership has also switched over so the bouncers are not understanding of constant customers. I will never come back here. In an area with such fantastic entertainment venues I don’t see a reason to visit this lame venue.

Good music, good drinks, and fun bartenders. 205 club is a basement bar/small club. It’s a short walk from the Whole Foods in LES. I came here for a friend’s birthday party and was impressed by the friendly staff. The coat check is free for ladies(yay!). We had a table and they had prepared the liquor, glasses, and ice. Someone came regularly to change the ice and take away glasses. The tables are really small, so I’d recommend getting a table for a group that’s a maximum of 5 or 6 people. Music-wise, the DJ plays all the dance-y, pop-y, 2000s’ feel-good jams. My friends yelled phrases like«I love this song!» and«Oh this is my jam.» multiple times throughout the night. Not that this place is small and gets packed after around 11pm on the weekends. People come here to dance and have fun.

Love Love Love! Doormen are friendly. Music is an amazing mix of hits and throw backs that make you want to dance all night long. There are the benefits of a typical club party but with the feel of a bar(aka not a snobby pretentious crowd).

I had high hopes for 205 bar. But it really went below my expectations. Actually. It might be the worst bar I’ve been to in LES. The drinks were over priced. As a matter of fact, when I heard we were going out there, I brought a bottle with me on the subway. Trust me you won’t be saving any money here. Do yourself a favor and bring libations with you. I’m gonna also cosign all of the racist accusations made against this bar. It’s unacceptable how much discrimination goes on here. They practice the kind of racism no one ever wants to see happen in front of their eyes. Tonight I was actually horrified. Go to late late. Or go to the Delancey. The blind barber. Go to no fun. Go to Crif dog. Berg’n is cool. Anywhere but this place. For your sake and for the sake of your friends. Go elsewhere plz.

It’s a weeknight and you want to get white girl wasted. youre in the LES and some blocks look a little shady. but then you see red and neon lights, hear Biggie blasting, and you see a shady bouncer at a door… you’ve reach Club 205. At 10 pm on a Thursday night it was dead. but pretty much alive. We were getting hit with mixes from old school hip hop, today’s hip pop and everything in between. Our crew of 10 easily had a good time«turning up» as the kids call it. At 11. a wave of partiers came through the door and by 1130 this place was really packed and alive. by now the bartender knew us and our card tabs by heart and was heavy handed with our drinks. Fast forward to 230 am, the party is still live. and my friend decided to throw a glass cup at a patron. and that was when our night ended. bouncer kicked us all out. in a nice way of course and it was well deserved. Altogether, an epic night of fun, dancing, drinking, and a tab I’m working overtime to pay off. well worth it!

This place has good times and good vibes written all over it. I went here last night with a date on a whim. We already ate and had been drinking, so we wanted to continue the night with some fun dancing. For a Thursday night, it was decently packed. We got into the downstairs club, which had your typical, casual club like atmosphere. A DJ was playing techno mixed music, which was a little hard to get into at first. People were fairly dressed up to go out, like heels and tight dresses, so I felt a little out of place at first — wearing my edgy pants and leather jacket. I was too drunk to even care. I can see coming back to this place on another late Thursday or weekend night with friends. I hate going to clubs with dates(mainly because I’m use to going to clubs to meet guys and make new friends). A good place to really dance your drunk night away.

I came on friday night. maybe we came early(?) but there wasn’t any cover. the music they played here was a confusing mix of 00s hiphop/r&b and pop(did you know some people calls the 00s the noughties? most definitely my favourite era). I don’t think anything played was more recent than 2005. I DO appreciate the appearance of usher’s yeah! late into the night. I still maintain that song is the best song to ever exist. the crowd was chill, a mix of hip city cool kids and young professionals in collared shirts with their top buttons undone for the night. the space is pretty tiny though, so it did heat up pretty fast. they had two industrial-sized fans on full blast at the front, so it’s your call between sacrificing your ears to stand near the speakers and fans, or to sweat through your clothes. props for the people working here. the bouncer and bartender were both extremely awesome and nice! chatted with both of them for a while, as I was getting a breath of fresh air.

I came to the basement portion of 205 this Saturday. It’s not really my kind of place, I don’t dig dancing much, but my friend whose opinion I trust completely decided to come here after a night of barhopping. Some things are fuzzy since we came so late. I had beer, possibly a Bud Light because I didn’t specify what I wanted(I’ve never had a light beer before in my life, clearly I was far gone enough not to care). The space was packed but not so packed that you couldn’t dance, which I did. The DJ was playing hiphop and mixing in some 90’s rock hits which I loved. What I didn’t dig was playing just small portions of some songs. Hearing the opening to Gangsta’s Paradise and not getting to belt out the lyrics is criminal. I remember hearing Third Eye Blind. Unilocalers who talked about there being a bridge and tunnel crowd are right. Despite being from Queens no one ever slaps that label on me, but I know what’s meant by it. Think Long Island, Jersey, bros, backwards hats. It’s not an overwhelming portion of the crowd, and everyone was friendly, but it is a thing. Bouncers were super sweet. Bartender seemed kinda bored but took care of everyone. Bathrooms are on the smaller side but are clean. I really liked that we could still sort of talk even in a dance club; the music was loud but not make your ears bleed loud, so that’s nice :)

Flew back home for a quick weekend trip. Told my BFFs that I wanted to go to a bar/club/any place that had bangin music, BFFs pulled through with this joint. Place is a bit small but no biggie, never felt cramped or void of dancing space. THEMUSICISPHENOMENAL. DJ played the perfect mix of EDM and hip hop, had us raging one second and then doing Soulja Boy’s Superman dance the next. As we were getting down, one of the employees so thoughtfully moved the nearby table to make room for our 20 foot dancing circle radius. I’m assuming the drinks were stiff because the latter part of the night is kind of a haze for me. All around solid night/outing, music was spot on and filled my hip hop craving. I’ll definitely make it a point to go back when I’m in town.
