If this is the same halal cart I think it is, situated right near Joe’s Café in the glass building, it houses the best halal lamb I’ve ever eaten. Crispy, spicy and delicious, especially mixed with the jalapenos and olives they were always creative enough to offer with their platters. As a Columbia student I was a frequent visitor to this cart and always received the warmest, friendliest service here. 53rd and sixth might have the famous white sauce, but this cart has the best lamb over rice!

It’s a halal cart and damn good if you ask me. Friendly fast service. You can go upstairs to Joe’s coffee and get a $ 5 single origin ristretto shot or you can get a big plate of meat from these guys. You know what to do.

Ordered the falafel with rice. Likely the worst falafel I’ve ever eaten. Very dry, not crispy, tasteless. The rice was also pretty bad. Service is very fast and the food isn’t very expensive.

Quickly becoming my favorite quick-cheap lunch spot in the M’side area. Typical, satisfying Halal fare: meat over rice or wrapped in a pita. I usually get the chicken or chicken and gyro combo over rice($ 5 and $ 6, respectively). Service is friendly and extremely efficient, and the food is mighty tasty(not quite 53rd&6th tasty, but tasty nonetheless). Offering extra red & white sauce to-go or at least having bottles on the side of the cart might earn them an extra star.
