I was excited to come here to eat mainly because I am a sucker for courtyards, the name of it, and that their menu looked quite appealing to me. The courtyard was definitely more beautiful in person than I imagined. Unfortunately when we got there at 6:30 they were only limited to appetizers after 6 which was a let down. We sat in the courtyard and went ahead and ordered drinks and appetizers. We got the crabcake, gumbo, and loaded pommes. I personally only enjoyed the gumbo. The rest of the appetizers we ordered were quite mediocre. The pommes was airy and tasteless and I feel the crabcake could have had more to it. Something I also noticed was that almost every table ordered the house sangria which made me feel inclined to get it because it must be good if everyone is ordering it. Indeed it was delicious and I definitely recommend it! To put the icing on the cake I really enjoyed the live music performances they had when I was there which was totally unexpected. It was a very pleasant surprise for me and my boyfriend. Overall we had a very nice time because the atmosphere was completely on point. I just wish we could have arrived earlier to try the main food.

Meeting friends and relatives for a cocktail and quick bite. Generous serving of my favorite single malt scotch. I had an early fare of shrimp Remulade, salad, crab cake and peanut butter pie. All were in keeping with Feelings I have come to know. The crab cake was especially good. Both bar and wait staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Not at all intrusive

Grits… They are two kinds of people in this world –those that turn their noses up to them in irreverent disregard, or those that if facing their last meal, lovingly embrace them,…lift them up to the star-lit heavens(much the way Simba did with his first born) and proclaim profound thanks to our God for this planetary gift. Now, If you find yourself in the first category, you’ve obviously not visited this little gem that’s tucked away off the beaten path of NOLA. Feelings… yeah, I was thinking what kinda place calls itself«Feelings» ??(and yes, that ridiculous old emo song came to mind as well) BUT, being the intrepid & fearless person I am, I knew I had to do this. I roll up to this restaurant & now seriously having that stupid song stuck in my head(my fault, for teasing hubby by singing it in route) arrive at 9pm & was thinking the best this establishment had to offer has long been served by this hour. Wrong! THEBEST meal I had during the entire 4 days I was there was about to be served! Hubby & I decided to share our meals so he had me order the steak with mushrooms, topped witg blue cheese crumbles & a sauce TODIEFOR and the Biggie… BBQ shrimp with grits. Yes, you heard correctly… it’s absolutely heavenly! I never would’ve imagined trying to introduce these two strangers to one another, BUT all I can say is their union was blessed by the food fairly & their offspring deserves to be lovingly lifted up to the stars. Chef, you’re a cosmic genius! Unilocalers, go there and you’ll be thanking YOUR lucky stars. Can’t wait to travel/fly to NOLA! & visit here again!

Went here for lunch on a Friday — 75 cent martinis during lunch. We ordered 2 appetizers which were both very good but small — friend green tomatoes had a great sauce top but only 4 to an order and shrimp dip which had great flavor but you only get a tiny portion and some house made chips. Just didn’t feel like the portion fit the price. The entrees were all delicious — fried chicken, shrimp and grits, oyster patty(similar to an oyster pot pie) and the southern Caesar. Will definitely go back!

I was excited to try the new Feelings Café after reading the reviews. Unfortunately, it fell far from my expectations. First of all, they do not serve dinner in the courtyard(the best part of the venue). The courtyard and the upstairs are bar and small plates only. Since we came for dinner it was the dining room or sidewalk only. We chose the dining room. The dining room has been totally remodeled and they chose to strip much of the beautiful historic feel from the room. Small detail that would not have been important if the food had been good. We started with cocktails. I ordered the Marigny Manhattan up and my husband ordered a Pimm’s Cup. My Manhattan was warm, my husband’s Pimm’s cup has a weird vibe. Food wise, we had deviled eggs(OK, not great), shrimp and grits(flavorful, but shrimp too small and grits too runny), and ribeye w/blue cheese au gratin potatoes(ribeye was flat, flavorless and the potatoes cold). Overall, one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve had in years(and we eat out 10 — 12 meals a week) at this price point. Hate to be so negative; just being honest.

One word… DELICIOUS! I was so skeptical about this place being that it was my husband and I’s first time. The crowd was mediocre, the menu didn’t have a big selection but the décor was traditionally NOLA. I had ordered the Seafood Pasta and my husband, shrimp and grits. BABY, WHEN I TELLYOU… the minute those flavors hit your mouth it’s like an explosion. Everything was great! Served Hot, and I mean HOT! We will go back and bring others as well… ill call this one my litto Diamond in the Ruff.

We had a great meal last week. We had a group of seven, which the restaurant graciously accommodated. The food was absolutely delicious. We mostly had seafood, although one friend had a wonderful vegetarian dish. The ambiance cannot be beat. The proprietor and staff could not have been more congenial. The location is so special. What a great time we had!

Got a sweet little Air B&B in the Bywater neighborhood and found this dime… Service was great, the burger was greasy but delicious! Had a steak salad that was light and fresh and the gumbo, which was also very tasty… The courtyard wth the water fountain is cute and cozy… It was hard to leave

If you are looking for a place with a truly New Orleans hometown vibe this is the restaurant. With its beautiful courtyard, delicious New Orleans Menu, and welcoming staff, Feelings felt like hanging out with your friends at the local neighborhood establishment. Classy but no pretentious. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits and the Boudin and eggs! If your a local or are just in town for a taste of New Orleans definitely check this place out… Loved our server Nathan.

What a cool place! Great cocktails, amazing southern food, loads of history on the walls and tons of space. I loved the outdoor atrium with the starry decorations. Wonderful night out!

Hooray for the neighborhood restaurant! Dependable and good. I had a great crab cake and the oysters were delicious! Best of all the bartender knew how to make a proper gin martini!

A star is reborn! This wonderful Marigny restaurant and bar has been infused with new energy. From the fun music to the yummy food to smiling service, Feelings is a restaurant and bar that you want to come to again and again. I love the quirky, historic building with multiple levels and open air courtyard. The food will not disappoint. Best of all, the staff is friendly and competent.

We were headed to Paladar when we ran across this amazing brunch place. We saw that it was new on Unilocal and didn’t have very many reviews. When we walked in, they said the courtyard is full but they can totally seat us in the dining room. The dining room didn’t look very appealing, but the courtyard looked amazing. I played their piano in the dining room while we waited to be seated. Once we were seated, the servers were very nice and helpful. The courtyard is beautiful, there is a disco ball hidden among the trees that the sun shines on and little flecks of light dance all over the walls. We ordered the Eggs Sardou, Puffed Potatoes, Smothered Green Beans, and the Cesar Salad. Everything was great. The Potato bites were sort of like hashbrowns, but these were infused with cheddar and came with a light creamy sauce. The Eggs Sardou were two perfectly poached eggs covered in hollandaise and surrounded by fried oysters and halved cherry tomatoes with chopped green onions sprinkled about. The Cesar salad was great. Fresh lettuce with grains, and corn and large shaved slices of parmesan cheese. The smothered green beans were nothing to write home about. The only suggestions I would have is to get portable patio umbrellas to provide shade when the sun shines directly into the courtyard. I also think they could do much more with their dining room. Maybe they could make their dining room more like their courtyard, maybe they could even make one of the walls of the dining room such that it could be opened up to create a continuous space with the outside. The service here is fantastic. The food is excellent. You should totally check this place out.

What a delightful little spot! The patio was lovely, we had great drinks, the bartender gladly made me something that was not on the menu. We ordered our food from the patio, when it was ready we moved into the dining room. I had the fried chicken, which was delicious. The chicken was moist and tasty, best fried chicken I’ve ever had. My wife asked about the catch of the day, which was fish and chips. She was on the verge of rejecting it, since it is, um, fish and chips. But when she heard it was made with drumfish she decided to try it. Wow, it knocked her socks off. Light, flaky crust, perfectly done fish, great potato wedges that were not mealy like most fries. Very friendly staff, overall a great experience, you should go!

There were 4 of us eating at Feelings last night and all of us were raving about the food and service. I understand there is new management here and they are doing things right. They have a nice food and drink menu. I’m a steak guy and theirs has a great sauce with mushrooms and fresh crumbles of Blue Cheese, very good. My wife tried the oysters for a appetizer and the chicken for dinner, and was very happy. We had the neatest table upstairs that overlooked the courtyard, it was so nice and private. We all look forward to coming back again soon.
