Miles and Sam are some of the best at tending bar. Super happy. Super energetic. Plus: they know all the cheeses, don’t even get me started about the wine. You will be taken care of. And they take song requests! They are the bees knees. If you don’t grab a glass here, chances are you have no class.

We spent 6 weeks in the Garden District and The Delachaise quickly became a favorite spot to relax over a glass of wine. They have an outdoor patio that provides great people watching but inside at the bar is just as nice. Kendall is a great bartender with a good sense of humor. The clientele seemed to be about an equal number of tourists and locals. The shrimp po boy and duck fat fries are delicious. Weekends are busy… go early to make sure you get a table.

Found this CUTE little neighborhood wine bar while on a recent trip to The Big Easy. Fabulous wine list … In fact, I honestly haven’t seen a better one by the glass in a long, long time. Great bottled beer and bar selections. The smoked salmon and corn cakes were delish. I would have given 4, maybe even 5 stars were it not for two key elements of my limited experience: 1) They had no ketchup for fries. Ummm… I hate to break it to you folks … But if fries are one of your signature items, that’s a critical condiment to carry. While I can appreciate the aioli, peanut sauce and all the rest, I’d like ketchup please. If you wanna smoke and make your own signature ketchup, I’m all in. But, don’t menu fries without it. I left my order there in full(after asking for ketchup and being told they don’t carry it) … and no one offered to remove them from my bill. Not good; not cool. 2) Some obnoxious bartender suddenly turned the music so damn loud, no one could have a conversation(and I was by myself… So you know that’s bad). Would have loved to hang and drink more wine, but was just too deafening and annoying to endure. They cleared the bar if that was the intent. In fact, the couples around me said«it’s so damn loud, let’s go outside». Irritating when a self-righteous bartender cares more about themselves over a house full of the customers who are paying their livelihood. Service was marginal(at best). Ordered Rose of Pinot; got the real Pinot … Was largely ignored at the bar … Sat empty forever and then flagged someone down to get my check. But it’s already painfully clear that they are not terribly customer-focused.

The Delachaise is a really nice laid-back spot in New Orleans to enjoy some wine and a bite to eat! Location/Atmosphere: 4⁄5. The Delachaise is on a cute section of St. Charles St. Parking is relatively easy to find, and the street car often rumbles by, creating a nice atmosphere. The outside patio is a nice spot to sit on a warm night. The inside arrangement of tables is a bit awkward, and some of the chair/table heights don’t quite make sense. But overall the bar has an appealing intimate-yet-casual atmosphere! Service: 4⁄5. I found the service to be a little slow – no one was in a particular hurry or haste to pour you a drink. However, the bartenders and servers were extremely friendly, which made up for the pace. They were also knowledgeable at recommending wines and pairings. Food and Drink: 4⁄5. The wine selection at the Delachaise is truly impressive, as is the cheese selection. It’s almost overwhelming! Some of the small plates and appetizers are also good: try the goose fat fries if you’re feeling hungry! Overall: Great spot!

Delachaise is as unique as it can get. Amazing ambiance, amazing food, and superb service. I’m going to keep it simple because I’m sure the other reviews will tell you the same. This place is the ! Great for a simple girls night out and even date night. Cheese plates here are always perfect; I usually get the chef’s selection(5) different types of cheese with sliced green apples & spiced walnuts, I believe. The steak & frites are to die for as well. You won’t regret coming here whether it’s for a drink or a bite, heck both!

Great Uptown spot on St. Charles where it’s all about the drink and food. Intimate and cozy, quality tunes, no TVs, great place for date. Some outdoor seating, and patio with heat lamps during the winter months. Very full bar tons of choice, liquor, wine and beer. Amazing cheese plate here, again a lot of choice. Above average prices, but the quality backs it back. This is the«coolest» men’s room in New Orleans, great photo a Steve McQueen.

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I just don’t love it here. People rave about this place, but I just never look forward to going here. I find that inside it is a little stuffy and I just don’t love the atmosphere(although the twinkle lights are cute). I think inside of this place it is often too loud. I feel like this is a place where you are supposed to be able to enjoy conversation with the people you come with, but between the loud music they play and the voices of everyone around you I find it hard to hear the people you are with. If it was a venue with live music I would feel differently, but the music here is supposed to be background noise so it shouldn’t be so loud. For this reason when I go, I always try to sit outside. I like the atmosphere outside better, and it is easier to carry on a conversation as it is not so loud. The food here is definitely delicious, there is no arguing that. They have a lot of delicious, awesome dishes, but sometimes I think it is a little much for a wine bar. Some of the dishes I would prefer to get at a nice sit down dinner as opposed to a wine bar, but that being said they do have cheese plates and some smaller appetizers so I can’t hold this against them too much. My favorite thing about this place is that every night they have a $ 5 red and white wine option available. The wines are never super crappy wines so this is generally what I order. Honestly, even at places that aren’t as nice as this one it can be difficult to find wine that is that cheap so it really is nice of them to offer glasses for $ 5.

I’ve frequented the Delachaise for three years, and while the food and wine selection remains excellent, the restaurant is rapidly becoming unpleasantly filthy. The bar and chairs are sticky, the ladies’ room is dirty and haphazard(and includes graffiti), and there are small roaches scurrying about behind the bar(I saw one, but there is never just one). The booth upholstery is torn, with duct tape covering the holes. The Delachaise is a popular place; I think a remodeling and a super clean is in order.

We had dinner here on a Wednesday night. I have always loved this little building. It is a great spot for a romantic date. I hadn’t been here since Delachaise took over. The place has a great atmosphere as usual, though they could take a little time and effort to clean it up a bit. Why not have a clean restroom and maybe paint the peeling ceiling? It was slightly intimidating as a first timer. Took us a couple of minutes to orient ourselves, find a wine menu and settle in. Great selection of wine and beer and very friendly staff. I could see this being a regular hang out if I lived in the area. The food quality here was really great and I enjoyed all of it, but I was a little frustrated. My wife and I started with a fresh salad with the quince dressing. Love the idea of quince dressing, but they didn’t get it quite right. It was thin and too sweet. Just a little olive oil and salt would have done wonders. The quality of the salad otherwise was fantastic. We followed this with the frogs legs. They were fantastic. Despite lots of spicy sauce, they retained a crisp crust. These were definitely the standout. I ordered the mussels, one of my favorite things to try. They were great quality but again missed the mark. So close, so frustrating. The broth was overly lemony and needed to be cut with something to even it out and make it smooth. A touch of cream and a little white wine would make it perfect. Finally we had the flank steak crostini. Great quality steak and cheese on crispy French bread. What could be a stand out was bland meat and cheese on toast. We opted to take this home and added just a little cranberry chutney. It became absolutely delicious and I want more. So, I would go here again and again to try more things and I love the atmosphere and selection, but I wish they would pay a little more attention to the blending of flavors in their high-quality and well-presented food.

So as a first timer in NOLA there are lots of places you should most definitely try. Being the oh-so-sophisticated adult that I am(…most of the time) my friend opted to show me this quaint little wine bar, rather than brave Bourbon St. The Delachaise is nestled inside an old diner car, which look likes something out of a movie set in the 1940/50’s, but with modern necessities and updated décor. Ever seen Forever Young? Where they eat pie and he is going to ask her to marry him? I couldn’t get that off my mind the entire time we were there!(if you haven’t seen that movie, you need to find it somehow, admire the cute diner car and have a good cry while you’re at it) Back to Delachaise… low lighting, smooth music and a lounge-like feel. I felt like I could expect a really beautiful couple from Pearl Harbor the movie(you know, handsome military man, and his lady in kitten heels, red lips, etc.) to walk in any moment. I just loved the atmosphere of the place! It was totally my cup of tea. If you are a wine connoisseur this is definitely your place too… SO many options for your red, white, and bubbles. I’ve never seen so many Champagne and Prosecco options on one menu! They sell by the bottle, or the glass and a have a variety of pricing options, low to high. I always appreciate that! You do have to order at the bar, and it seems to be a very popular and hopping joint, so we didn’t stay too too long for our visit. But i’d definitely recommend it to a tourist, such as myself, looking for cool and swanky place for a night-cap, who wants to do something more local like!

My favorite wine bar in the city. The Delachaise has hundreds of wines, bottled beers, and a few drafts to choose from. They also have $ 5 specials that are great! The food is a little pricey, but it’s delicious and tapa-style. My favorite is the eggplant cannoli! I absolutely LOVE the small, intimate vibe of the place. It’s a perfect spot for a date or to catch up with friends. The decorated hanging lights are my favorite!

This little bar was down the street from our hotel so we went here for dinner. They had a good selection of beer and wine and the food was good, too. There wasn’t table service so you order at the bar. The bartender who helped me was friendly. We ate the Eggplant cannoli which were very good. We also had the chicken mofongo which was huge and very filling. It wasn’t as good as mofongo that I’ve had in Puerto Rico but it was pretty good, but a little too salty. Later people told us that their steak and their truffle fries are both very good. Food arrived quickly and it wasn’t too noisy considering it was a bar.

Bar was perfect. Wine and alcohol selections are extensive, though I enjoyed the 5 $ glass they had the night I went. Had both the still rosé and the red. The food was also very good. We tried the fried frog legs with«wicked» spicy remoulade and a plate of paté, cheese, and pickled things. What else you could ask for when having wine is beyond me. Service was great — enjoyed talking to the bar tenders. And the ambiance made my girlfriend very happy. Sound level was right, lively, but not too loud.

Love this place. Even one bad first date couldn’t put me off. The cheese plate and that flank steak bruschetta are my go to’s. My roomie liked the salmon Johnny cakes and we would exchange(we lived right around the corner for two yrs). Mussel and frites, duck fat fries… you cannot go wrong. The wine selection is spectacular. The $ 5 house red/white offerings are always excellent as pairings. Great music, good staff, excellent ambience. Right off the streetcar route.

This is one of the cool places in town to grab a drink with a European vibe. Constantly voted one of the best wine bars in New Orleans, it also has a great selection of other things to get you a nice buzz. I have not eaten much of the food here, but what I have had was tasty and what I have seen, looks tasty. The crowd has a good variety of young and old and it is a nice place to bring a date you are trying to impress. At least I hope that works.

I am obsessed with Delechaise. Sad that I just moved to Houston, and it’s tough finding that one special spot for a quiet night out with your love or a friend. I’ve always come here for drinks and a cheese plate, fries, and other side items. I recently tried the steak frites… It is so delicious! I had the steak 3 times in the past two months! You have to order it rare or med rare… it tastes better that way. The fries improved over the year from what I remembered it used to be soggy? but now it is light and crispy! The wine selection is awesome and so are the cheese! My favorite cheese is the 5 year aged gouda!!! You must try that! The bartenders and wait staff is very friendly and helpful. You always see the same faces every time you go. It can get really busy on a friday or saturday nights, but sometimes it’s easy to find a table. I prefer going on a weekday, where it’s busy, but not packed.

Introduced to me by a local, this place is possibly one of the cutest spots in New Orleans. It’s not located downtown and can be inconvenient for visitors, but if you have a car, definitely visit this spot! With its romantic lighting and patio outdoors, it’s a perfect spot for a date or for friends to hangout and try out their wines, especially during happy hour! I had their fries and their mussels, along with a glass of rose. All of what I had was delicious, and I would definitely return here if I have the chance!

This was the perfect place for a first date on a weeknight. It’s small and intimate and with the strands of twinkle lights in the gardens and edges of the building — just slightly romantic too. I’m sure because of it’s size, it can get overcrowded pretty quickly, but on a weeknight it was just the right amount of people to give a good ambience. The wine selection is immense and diverse. I tried something I’ve never had before — a sparkling shiraz. I’m usually not a fan of red wines, but I do love sparkling wines so I asked the bartender about it and he asked me what I like about sparklings and then what I don’t like about reds. He helped me make an informed decision and I tired it. I liked it — it wasn’t my favorite of all times, but he helped me feel like it was worth it to try it, especially since I’d never seen it anywhere before.

If I’m not home, I am probably here. This bar is intimate, romantic, divey, small and big all at the same time. I am a huge wine lover so naturally this place hits all the rights spots. The food is delicious but in my opinion a bit pricey(hence 1 star less). However the quality of it and the menu being different(ahem no fried fish here) and innovative definitely gives this place an unique vibe difficult to find in New Orleans Bars. It would be perfect to bring a date or a group of friends, or even yourself. The service is friendly and prompt. This place does not disappoint. One of my fav bars in NOLA.

Great late night date night spot. Beautiful interior setting and nice little patio area. When I’m channeling my inner Ron Swanson I like to order the Lagavulin and just cringe at my decision to drink something that taste like an old leather couch. Also duck fat pomme frites. Yas.

Went for lunch on Saturday, and it was strange. We were the only people there the entire time we ate lunch. Service was great and the food delicious though, so that’s the only negative thing to say. I have been to the Delachaise previously for drinks, but I had never eaten there. The food was delicious. I cannot say enough good things about the fries. I have had a lot of fries in my life, and I am not exaggerating when I say that their duck fat fries were the best I have ever had. I got the grilled cheese Annabella and was not disappointed, my husband got a shrimp po-boy. He liked it, but said there was a taste that he got occasionally that he wasn’t a huge fan of. Overall, the atmosphere at the Delachaise is usually amazing. They are usually always packed. While the atmosphere was lacking this Saturday, the food was delicious and we were not disappointed.

Cool place, nice music, great out side seating… There’s a few eccentric characters here, but that’s what keeps it interesting. My friend ordered us Moscow mules… This was my first Moscow mule and it was delicious. This is a nice shoot to hang with friends… Of they talk loud because it’s quite noisy

Horrible experience… . This time I’m playing tourist in New Orleans where I am a little more than a tourist, since I lived in NOLA for several years. We got in late and were just looking for something to go. I ordered a pâté plate. The pâté tasted like rubber. When the order came out it came out to be served at a table. Same with the cannolis. No napkins or utensils.

The lady friend has turned me into a wine drinker against my earlier wishes. I quite enjoy it now and like places that I can try a variety of wines by the glass. Delachaise is primarily a wine bar where you can do just that along with eat, and/or get a beer or cocktail. The bar is long and the seating is somewhat limited inside on weekend nights. There is an outdoor seating area in the front on the St Charles St side with adequate heating lamps in the winter months. Perfect place to watch the streetcars fgo by while enjoying their great fries with a cocktail or glass of vino.
