Pretty terrible, but extremely cheap prices so they gain a star. If it’s the middle of the night, you’re at a bar drunk and there’s no where else to eat then I guess get yourself a slider.

So good going in; So bad going out. For this reason I would like give it a 2 star rating. It’s a horrible morning anytime I eat at the slider shack the night before. It’s tasty when you are drunk at 2am but be warned. I think I might steer clear of the sliders and just stick to the fries from now on. They are incredible and the only reason I bumped it to a 3 star rating. Wait time is way to long for a slider. But the owner is a nice guy and works hard.

Tucked beneath the highway, slider shack is usually parked in front of Bridge Lounge and in front of the Capoeira dojo across the street, so they do a pretty solid business from the drunken throngs as they spill out into the streets of Central City. The guy who works the truck has a NYC accent, which gives his sliders even more White Castle flavah. Very reasonably priced. If you come before the crowds, your burgers will appear in less than ten minutes. If you hit the crowd wrong, grab a cocktail, take a chill pill, and hold your happy horses. Kinda worth it as the burgers really hit the spot – late-night-munchie heaven. Dare you to eat just one. I agree with the other reviewers: the fries are money, money, money.

The fries… amazing. I wish the place was open during the day because I always crave the fries and garlic mayo.

I was so excited to try Slider Shak, and I really want to be able to give them more stars, but just can’t. It’s overpriced, the service is slow, my helping of fries was WAY too small for $ 4.00, and the sliders just aren’t that special. I tried bites of the beef, turkey, and spicy pork sliders tonight with cheese and onions. They all look pretty much like something you’d unwrap at White Castle, but they don’t taste nearly as good. The beef was meh, the turkey was gross(I could only do one bite), and the spicy pork was the saving grace of my order. I could have eaten a few of those. For $ 1.75 apiece, though, I would have expected them to be thicker or more home-made in feel. I’ll definitely go back to this place to give them another chance, since it looks like it’s a family-run business and I want to find a reason to love them. Like others have said, the fries were great; however, my «Large» order was the size of a small order at a regular burger joint, and twice as expensive.

To echo Valerie G.‘s review, I REALLYREALLY want to give Slidershak 4 stars because the man working the truck was literally working his ass off. However, the wait time for one little slider was kinda ridiculous. I ordered the spicy pork slider which was honestly heavenly. I could eat about 10 of these… although that would probably mean waiting 400 minutes for all 10 sliders. One person just can’t work a food truck by themselves! Especially outside of a bar(drunk munchies much?). At one point when we were waiting I just wanted to hop inside the truck and help him make some sliders and fry some fries! Our friends who ordered the fries said they were good, but were a little disappointed that their top 3 choices of sauces were all sold out(this was at like 11am?). I think Slidershak has so much potential if they worked a bit on their operating model(aka hire more staff…).

Super torn between giving Slidershak 3 or 4 stars — but seeing how I waited close to 40 mins for ONE slider, I knew which way to sway. Slidershak was the only food source available outside the Bridge Lounge during Fat Tuesday, so there were many many hungry patrons and only one little man making all the food! There were lines everywhere — waiting to order and waiting to get the food. Thankfully the bar nearby made for a nice little break in our waiting time. I ordered a spicy pork slider w/cheese & peanut butter. The slider sans cheese is $ 1.50, with is $ 1.75, and PB was $ 0.50 extra. Despite the fact that the man was struggling back and forth with making the sliders, frying the frites, & forgetting all our toppings(my PB and Diana S.‘s pickles + onions), the slider was actually really tasty! If only they could hire a few more people — they could have really made a big impression. I also hear that the frites are pretty tasty. My friends shared an order(which I didn’t try — gasp!) and they said it was good(but not worth the long long wait either).

I would happily die from a heart attack in my early 30s if it meant I got to eat at this place every day. Maybe that’s hyperbole, maybe not. I guess we’ll never know. I’ll tell you what I do know though, I got a slider with peanut butter and grilled onions with a side of fries with homemade curry ketchup outside of NOLA Brewery and I instantly went in to Gollum mode. Go away! We don’t wants to share our delicious burger with filthy beer drinking friends! Keep your nasty handses off our pommes frites! Oh, you’re getting some pomme frites? Bert loves you and will always help you if you give us some of your preccciouuuussss. It’s fantastic. Between the different varieties of meat and the choice of toppings you have a lot of choices. I’ve had all of the meats and the regular old burger is my favorite, but they’re all very good. Eat up!

SliderShak’s sliders are addictive. There… I said it. I’ve been to the SliderShak food truck three times now, outside the Bridge Lounge and the Saint Bar, and have eaten the beef, turkey and pork sliders — My favorite is the pork. It was juicy, a bit spicy, and the slider garnishes rock. I like the roasted garlic mayo, Vietnamese«rooster sauce» and caramelized onions the best. Don’t get me started about the fries — they call them«pommes frites» — I call them awesome. These guys have just started out, and I certainly wish them every success — They deserve it. :)
