Red Arrow has a wide variety of eclectic goodies. I sometimes come here to find small gifts for out of towners. I really like their selection of homegoods and jewelry. The staff is super nice and helpful. I wanted a necklace that wasn’t in stock, and they promised to call me when it came in. They called and held it for me; when I picked it up, it was already in a box and bag! They’re a little expensive, but everything is high quality.

Red Arrow is one of those stories that could be so beautiful, but it’s actually so sad. The shop is fabulous, cute and sweet with a wild array of the perfect items for your home/your friend/your baby. Everything is just a shade different. Just a bit unique. Just a step more. This is where you will find That Thing for that friend you can never find That Thing for. I have a lust list going that contains about half the shop, tbh. The curation is artful, obviously done with a good eye. It’s femme and fun, but not just girly, you know? Worth a visit. Of course the story. I promised the story. Red Arrow founder and brilliant mastermind Jillian Johnson was a staple in the wild, wonderful music community around Lafayette. She played in a band, created and crafted, founded and taught. She was someone with lots of energy behind the Blackpot Festival, charity work in Lafayette, arts, music, nature… she was there. Of course my introduction to Jillian was at the 2015 Blackpot Festival when her band played a memorial set, honoring a life well-spent but too short. Red Arrow is one of her legacies. Accessibility notes: door opens out. Space is shared with another shop. No Braille prices or signage. Some items are displayed high and may be out of reach for seated shoppers. High counter. Can get loud at peak hours. Floor displays allow for most mobility devices to maneuver around, but this can change.

If you need a special unique item that screams Louisiana this is your place. This shop offers such varied merchandise as art, maps, books, china, stationery, toys, jewelry, and gifts etc. Located in a convenient stretch of Magazine Street the parking is usually easy in the area and there are several other shops and art galleries around the area.

This a nice gift shop that shares a space with Parish Ink. They have a wide selection of tshirts, home décor, Louisiana-centric items and other little conversation pieces and gifts. One interesting thing that I saw here were Mississippi River(I think) maps, that would make a good gift for a traveler or anyone who likes geology or something a little different. On the day I stopped in, I was in a bit of a hurry and looking for a «different» type of engagement gift for a friend. I ended up getting him a leather travel wallet, which I think he will like. When I bought it, the woman was extremely nice and chatty. I’d love to return.

Fun housewares and kids stuff. This is a new shop on Magazine but it’s an established business in Lafayette. They had some cute Louisiana themed dishes that they commissioned. Plus tons of cute child gifts. They also had some books, stationery, jewelry, and other unusual items. They share the space with another Lafayette based company, Parish Ink and there are 2 staff members and 2 cash registers. The stock in both is interesting and the staff were friendly. I’ll definitely be back.
