Walk in was okay. Fried popcorn shrimp and red beans and rice were good. Popeye’s biscuits are too rich for me. Sprite wasn’t good. Strawberry was okay. Would go back

Popeye’s is always a ride. Even though this Popeye’s created a weird system of them bringing your food out to you in a crowded parking lot asking each car if the food they had was theirs after ordering it at the drive through, the excellence of the food made up for the lack of brains of whoever came up with such a distorted structure of service.

Popeyes is usually solid. There are a few that have issues. The one in chalmette? Yes. This one too. The problem is not paying attention. Not listening. The person who takes order? Fills order? Not Payin attention. Our mistake for not challenging. But the order to go? We had to move aside. So when rest of order also wasn’t right? We chose to just move on. What a hassle. Never got the onion rings. Never got the right drink either. And 1.69 for a half full red beans? Nah. Drive over to elysian and order. So much better. Also. Never drive off and not check your order. The first part of order was wrong. Got her to fix… but realustically… she just shined us off.

Ok sooooo I don’t eat chicken… But I will review the service & the quality of my purchase. Drive thru or dining room ordering, get ready to wait. It’s a given, you will wait for the chicken. I mean do they have to go out back & catch, pluck & de-feather the chicken before they put it in the bag for you??? I mean I guess the up side is that you know it’s fresh… Ooooor could it be that the folks inside are just lazy? Nah, I can’t say that. Once inside the dining room, you can see the crew members(is that what they’re called) actually working. Idk. I can actually say that you get good value/amount of food for your money(#goodbangforyourbuck); you can get like 25 pieces for $ 2. Lol. Not really, but you get good quality, great smelling food for a reasonable price. The drive-thru seems to always be popping & although you are sometimes made to pull up to wait on your food, the wait is normally not 10000 seconds, but maybe 9999 seconds. Lol. #justkidding.

I know, what to say about a Popeyes in New Orleans? Well, my review is more in the form of a tip. If you need to satisfy that fried chicken fix, go to the take out window, the staff on the window seem to be the pick of the crew(I was impressed at how perky everyone was), the gang inside makes lots of mistakes and give the impression of being part of a training program. The chicken is, as one might expect from Popeyes, excellent. The place is undergoing renovation when I was there, so they seem to be cleaning up this older franchise.
