I’ve tried the hydration & red-light therapy beds & they are incredible. My skin is looking & feeling better than it has in years after just a few weeks. I was looking just to tan but the overall benefits I’m seeing with my skin by also using the hydration and red light will keep me coming back for those more often than the tanning. Their beds are great but I’m looking forward to trying the spray tan too!

I hate to leave poor reviews for this business because I used to really love Planet Beach and tell all my friends about it. In fact, I loved Planet Beach so much that despite living across the country, I would freeze my account and unfreeze it whenever I was in town. When I first joined Planet Beach the staff was wonderful — very sweet, friendly and educated about the products. The store was ALWAYS clean, and towels and robes were always available. Somewhere along the line the entire staff has changed, and while the girls who work here are still very nice, things are not the same. The business seems disorganized, it’s not as clean, and there’s a lack of valuable connections with the staff. When I first started freezing my account, the girls understood my situation(that I live in New York and only come to New Orleans a couple times a year) and were very accommodating about it. I had been refreezing my account for over a year with no issues and now this business is giving me an incredibly hard time. After contacting the new staff members explaining my situation and that I needed to re freeze my account before being charged for the next month, they said that I had to re freeze my account in person. Fly across the country to freeze an account??? No. They then explained that I could send an email a couple weeks before my freeze expired, and they would send me a form that I could sign and send back. I sent an email, Vickie responded, and then my next email went unanswered and I never received the form. I made multiple calls before the date of my freeze expiration and followed all the directions so I could re freeze the account. They charged my account despite knowing my desires to re freeze. Since that charge, I have been calling the store nonstop and hearing promises that I will get my refund. Still waiting. I just want my money back. And I no longer plan on going to this establishment for their lack of customer service, organization and communication. Again, I hate to leave poor reviews for a business I once loved, but maybe now they will finally listen and send me my refund. It saddens me that I have to go through such an effort just to fix an error that THEY made by putting a charge on my card that I explicitly said that I did not want. Planet Beach, I hope that you can get more organized.

Planet Beach– Riverbend is the most amazing spa ever! I cannot say enough good things about this place. The place is clean and very inviting. The staff is wonderful and will answer any questions you will have. The owner of this planet beach is even more delightful and is always there to help. I have been tanning here for years and I plan to stay!

When I realized the light reflecting off my legs was causing those around me to don sunglasses, I decided I needed a spray tan, stat. I ended up here based on Unilocal reviews and proximity to where I live. I was expecting a tanning salon, which this is, but it is also so much more. The owner was there and she took time to show me around and tell me about some of the things they offer other than tanning… and I definitely plan to come back and give some other services a try. The location is super convenient and there is plenty of parking, two huge pluses for the area. The inside is really nice and very well-decorated. And, most important, everything is spotlessly clean.(Which, I will admit, is the biggest bonus in my book.) I really appreciate the time that the owner took talking with me and showing me around. It was very clear to me that she takes her business very seriously and wants her customers to be satisfied. I bought a tanning package, so I will definitely be back.(P.S. my «tan» came out amazing.) I look forward to trying other services, too.

I will update my review based solely on the fact that Vicki the owner took time to call me less than 24 hours after this event occurred. I appreciate it and it does show good business ethics, I hope that this is a one time occurrence and that one day I’ll visit a planet beach for a spray tan again. Today I visited your location on river bend; I had an appointment for a spray tan. Upon my arrival I filled out paperwork and sat and waited for someone to help me. The woman working the desk said corporate was working on their computers so it would be just a few minutes. As I was waiting there is a heated discussion between this same manager and a customer. That goes on and on… finally she says I’m up. I go to the counter where she put me in, explains products, and sells the cartridge and accelerator to me. I have a SPAWEEK.COM gift-card to use(She had never taken one) so that takes about 15 minutes of back and forth with the other«manager». She gets it to go thru 25 $ and I pay the remaining on my debit card. Now she(Gina) takes me to the spray tan room. She goes over everything and says she will set it. Ten minutes later the machine NEVER comes on, so I get dressed and go to the front. Gina is now the only one in the front. I told her the machine never came on and she proceeds to let me know that the other manager never put me in the system; therefore she couldn’t set the machine. At this time I request a refund, but she says she will put her number in for me because she doesn’t know how to refund. I agree, keep in mind I have now been here 45+ minutes. I go back to the back and wait on it to start again, only this time the sensor doesn’t recognize my hand in front of it. I try three, four, five times before I just give up and get dressed again. Go back to the front where now both managers are. I request a full refund; alexia tells me there will be no full refund because they already opened the cartridge and the accelerator. But I have been here for an hour and your machine has yet to produce my spray tan. How could you not refund my money for a service I DIDNOTRECEIVE? She was the most disrespectful person I have ever encountered in customer service! She ended up refunding only the session and not the cartridge 10 $ or the accelerator 7 $. All while talking to me like an idiot. Now I have my gender reveal party tomorrow for my baby that I will give birth to in four months. I will not have a nice golden tan that I have received from other locations; instead I will be down $ 17 and also have to horrible memory of what happened on this day at this location with this so called manager. I will let everyone I know to never visit this location. Something needs to be done about her; she should not be working in your establishment. You have been grossly misrepresented as a company and as a brand. ZEROSTARS

Love this place! The Red Light Therapy bed and Red Light facial are my favorite! I’ve seen my skin transform in just a few weeks! My acne prone skin has calmed so much. As well as those problem areas have improved(you know, that awesome cellulite on those thighs… yay). Their products are a dream. I use their facial and body products everyday in the shower and at the spa. All organic and actually really good quality. I was super impressed! They have some great nutrition supplements as well. And they aren’t filled with all the junk and fillers like most places. Everything is organic and actually really good for you! The detox program is what I used when I first started there and holy moly. After that 14 day detox, I felt like a new person. Too many good things to say. I have to stop. So excited to go back!

I absolutely love this place. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the facilities are clean, and the whole experience makes you feel fantastic. In one week I’ve seen my cellulite go down. My skin is already much more taut and I leave each time with a grin. This PB location is well maintained, well staffed, and easy to drop into. My only sadness is that there are no one-on-one massages. Otherwise, the monthly parties with food and drink are fun and relaxing! The staff gives you a goal oriented régime and remember your name. If you live nearby, you do a disservice by not trying this out.

I haven’t tanned in awhile but I walked in and these ladies made it quite easy and enjoyable! Great with keeping up with equipment and bulbs, they also have an unlimited month of tanning with no contract which is great for students! I highly recommend you come in for a tour and check it out!

Love this location, nicest one in town! Arielle and Ashley were so sweet, helpful, and knowledgeable about all of the services they offer. I would definitely recommend this location to all my girlfriends!

Going to this Planet Beach was a great experience. The spa has a serene, calming atmosphere and the staff(her name was Kaitlin) was super friendly and helpful! I did the water massage and it was so relaxing! The heat makes it great for sore muscles. Would def recommend!!!

I chose to wait to review this place because just a few weeks ago I was furious. Okay so here’s my story… I signed up for a membership plan. And I take complete blame and responsibility for signing that contract and not realizing that it was for a minimum of 1 year. I had gone to other tanning salons before and I have always been able to cancel at any time. So, okay I didn’t read the fine print — my fault. I was over charged because apparently one month’s charge didn’t go through because of NSF. That is completely and utterly impossible! I always keep track of my charges and I’ve always paid off my balance at the end of the month AND I’ve never maxed out my card. So this just can’t be true. So because it didn’t go through, they charged me another $ 20. It took me a while to get someone on the phone to help me out with the situation. Si I gave up on calling and actually went there. There was only one person working and she had to deal with my issue, along with a bunch of other things that were going on. I was in a rush because I had a whole lot of errands to run and I didn’t have time to deal with this. But nonetheless, I stayed and waiting on her to try to resolve the problem — and she was very distracted. The lady kind of played the blame game with me. She said there was nothing she could do about it and that I had to take it up with the bank. Well, that would have saved me a whole lot of time and frustration if someone had just told me that over the phone. The bank was another issue — as usual I got the run around and they asked me for all sorts of stuff, like a receipt, etc. I decided that $ 20 wasn’t worth the headache. I was already worked up from one thing happening after another that I was short tempered and very annoyed, that I just walked out and left after the lady told me, «Well you should read what you sign. It’s not my fault you didn’t read.» I am still paying $ 40 a month and I am resistant to going back and actually using my membership because of such a silly thing. I can’t even go to the Tchopatoulis location to use my membership — it’s a lot closer to me. I’m going to try to suck it up and just go… I feel like the whole situation could have been handled better and I wish the lady that sold me the membership would have told me that it was a minimum of one year.

I was spoiled by Plam Beach Tanning(there are NONE in New Orleans).Planet Beach is a good place to tan, just not as many types of beds to choose from.

Eh, kinda dirty. I’m used to nicer beds and better bulbs than the ones they use here. Also, there are usually SO many people there using the beds that by the end of the day you can hardly touch them because they’re so hot. The bulbs aren’t very strong and they dont give you much color either. On the other hand, they’re a lot less expensive than what I’m used to.(but i think they’ve raised their prices since I was last there.) I’m not sure if there are many other options in New Orleans other than the planet beach. However, if you’re looking for a place to go tanning — I’d reccommend looking harder. You should also consider making a reservation if you’re going during the school year. Lots of Tulane & Loyola girls frequent this planet beach and it tends to get REALLY crowded. Also, I had a membership with them and they continued to charge my credit card after I cancelled. That was a pain.
