I have been a member at this location for a year and a half. It was recently bought by a new owner, and the quality and customer service is now horrible. Their employees are not trained to airbrush, and their equipment has been constantly broken. The last time I was there, another customer walked out in frustration over another malfunctioning piece of spa equipment. I asked repeatedly to speak with the owner about the situation over the past 2 months, however she did not call until today. I had cancelled my membership 2 months ago by phone, however she told me I would have to appear in person and pay a $ 99 cancellation fee before the cancellation would be valid. Fortunately, my new credit card arrived around the time this was all unfolding, and they do not have access to that number. I am sure they will turn me over to collections, however I will NEVER return to this establishment. The positive Unilocal reviews are old, and the people mentioned left under the new ownership.

i didn’t know anything about tanning, but needed color for my cousin wedding. the fq location found a lotion that was perfect for my skin, gilded!!!(high end bronzer! my skin felt like a baby! but i was sooo tan. if your an advid tanner or a beginner you must try this location.

I love this place! I go a few times a week and my tan looks great. The girls are super nice and always helpful. Ask for Rachel, she was awesome. Explained many tanning lotions to me until we found the perfect one for my skin. :)

First off, I am so pale and I do not go in a tanning bed. I am a big fan of sunless tanner and all that jazz. A girl I work with went here and got an airbrush tan and it looked amazing! I saw how great she looked so I went ahead and called Planet Beach to set up an appointment. The girl on the phone told me she can get me in and would call to confirm my appointment shortly. She did so in a timely manner so I knew I would be able to get in before my weekend girls trip. I went to my appointment last night and Rachel had sprayed me. She is SO professional and down to earth, she didn’t make me feel uncomfy at all. I have had many airbrush tans but they were not from very experienced people. She helped me with all of my questions, applied the barrier cream for me and she even explained what and why she was spraying the places she was. I am overall very happy with my experience at PB French Quarter. Not to mention my tan looks so badass. I love that confident feeling I get from spray tanning.

Watch out for the contracts here! The annual fee self-renews without any notification and if you call to cancel, they tell you«too bad… it’s too late… You should have let us know a month in advance.» Seriously? it’s the customer’s responsiblity to remember 11 months later to cancel?(with no reminder from the spa, of course, that the year is almost up and now is the time to renew or cancel) What poor business practice, but hey, I’m sure it makes them a great deal of money.

I was in NOLA for a week prior to my wedding and came here for an air brush tan. I’d only done Versa and Mystic before but wanted the best for my wedding. I forget the girls name who sprayed me(short blonde hair), but she was great, very professional. The tan was wonderful and exactly one week later I still look very tan. The staff I met were hilarious too, my fiancé had a great time waiting for me. Can’t tell you anything about the beds, but the airbrush is great

I purchased a Groupon for this location and the services have been great. I tried the facial machine and it was really cool and I could see a difference right away. My experience was really different than the ones I read because I found the customer service to be ideal. I will definitely be back to get my money’s worth out of the groupon I bought

This location has a rule which only allows their members to tan after or on the hour they had tanned the previous day even if you need to come earlier they absolutely will not allow it. their prices are outrageous for first time members and they dont address a cheaper alternative almost suckering you into an extremely $$ package. & within a month i had no color and a light checkbook… This is not my first PB ive been to but closest to my house in NOLA. Would muchhhh rather take the drive to Tchoupitoulas or go somewhere else than go here again.

Ehh… so I’d worked at an uptown location for a few months during my first year of law school, and always had a premium(or whatever it’s called, where you use the elite and high pressure bed etc at Tchoupitoulas) membership for the 2.5 years I’d lived in nola, and tan daily in better beds in Manhattan now, so am very familiar both with tanning, and with PB. We were staying in the Quarter, car less, so the only tanning option(as it was raining and cold all week during our visit) was the PB in the Quarter. I’d never really gone to this one, despite location reasons, the beds also are very outdated, with Platinum being their highest end bed(much like the St Charles location, at least when I lived here). We come in, and the girl with an incredibly horrid accent sells us a session in the VIP when I ask her which bed has the newest bulbs and might be the strongest. Bear in mind, she charges us for a Platinum session, isn’t aware if they have an elite bed or not(yet i know they dont), and when i say the bed has no faceplates, so it cant be a platinum — informs me that it is. The lotion(which PB always makes you buy along with eyewear, unlike all other salons which supply both, or at least eyewear) was $ 15(for the disposable packet), and I think I’d have gotten tanner sitting under some bedside lamps(plus $ 2 – 3 for the eyewear I don’t use anyway). When we called back the next day, the manager was nice enough to let us come back in and use the platinum bed(for which we had paid yet not used), but the strength of that bed is also equivalent to shining a flashlight at myself. All in all, very frustrating, and I spent the weekend as an albino. I’d say that the place should update its beds, but lets be honest, not that many people visiting the quarter are coming to tan. The staff(aside from manager) was incredibly horrible however, and should be trained. At least know what beds you have, and don’t talk down to the manager in front of customers(young girls, and while I’m sure they know him personally, that’s unprofessional and rude), or peace out to get your mcdonalds which you bring back in to chow down in front of customers. *my boyfriend just referred to this PB as «the mickey mouse club operation we went to»
