As locals, we have eaten here numerous times. The food is always on point. However, the service last night left much to be desired. Sat at the oyster bar and ordered. 40 minutes later our entrees had not arrived. My husband & I began to wonder if they had lost our order. The raw bar employees who had been conversing with us all night, independently wondered the same and flagged down our waiter to inquire about our food. Finally, our food appeared. And 5 minutes later, two other couples next to us who had just sat down received their food with maybe a 10 minute wait. Spoke with the waiter who gave no reason for the delay. He was rude, condescending. Then spoke with manager, who had a similar attitude but indicated that he «would take care of the meal.» Went to sign our check and realized that nothing was taken care of. Left very disgruntled and feeling that the service was some of the worst we had had in the city. Will not be returning. Though this restaurant does have delicious food, its service is not of the caliber of a James Beard award winner.

Food: 4.0÷5.0 Service: 4.0÷5.0 Value: 3.5÷5.0 Décor: 3.5÷5.0 Overall: 4.0÷5.0 Solid seafood restaurant with strong service. The food was decent but nothing seriously stood out aside from a spicy lamb skewer app. Split but failed to finish a massive 2.5 pound redfish.

Excellent atmosphere(we sat at the bar), quality food and friendly bartender. For two people we got 4 appetizers/small plates and shared a shrimp roll and it was perfection. Several local beers to choose from and the NOLA brewery blonde was my favorite. Fried bread balls were simple but delicious. The brussels sprouts were perfectly seasoned and great. Shrimp roll is quite large, so great for splitting and was very good. All around a great experience and superb food!

Get the BEEFTARTARE. It’s beefy, tart, buttery, mushy, and crunchy… everything good! I would go back just for this! If you like oysters, the sampler is a good deal. I’m not a huge oyster connoisseur, but they were definitely fresh(they’re shucked on site). Ask the server to give you a good variety and they’ll bring out the tiny tasty ones to the fat meaty ones. Actually if you ask them about anything on the menu, they’ll prove that they know their stuff! I love restaurants with actual foodies and not just someone who memorizes the menu. AMBIANCE: –Good for a date or groups –Music loud enough for fun, but not so loud that you have to yell lol –Casual, relaxed

Four of us went on a busy Saturday night with no reservation. The place was PACKED, but we knew this was going to be the case and didn’t mind. It took a while to get up to the bar, but once we did we got our drinks and waited outside. A few minutes later the hostess said they could seat us — I am not sure how they made this miracle happen. Once seated we were greeted by our server and got a better view of the restaurant. It has a modern, high energy feel that makes you want to keep the night going! We wanted to try a little bit of everything and their small plates make this possible. We tried the smoked tuna dip and the grilled lamb skewers w/cucumber salad, which were both tasty. However, the thing I will be coming back for is their grilled skirt steak w/salsa verde. The steak was cooked perfectly and the combination of the steak and salsa verde was to die for. It is definitely on the expensive end but so worth it! The staff is great, food is amazing and the atmosphere and location makes for a fun night.

I want to thank the amazing host, Jaques, for being so accommodating. When hosting friends from out of town, I made a big mistake when making a reservation. Jaques not only resolved our problem by seating us, but was also patient and kind. As always, the food was amazing.

Fantastic restaurant. Split the seafood platter & not disappointed other than I want more oysters!!! Sitting at Oyster Bar a show in itself. And guys shucking very friendly. Had the Roero Arnels wine… a lot like a Grigio. Pointer… keep water glass full. Food spicy & I needed a swig of h2o to cool off my tongue. Crackers helped too. Oysters perfect size, 2 sauces for dipping. Oysters 1.35 per. Bring them on please!!!

My sister and I were in New Orleans for the night and we asked someone at our hotel where to eat. He told us Peche was the place to go for a real taste of New Orleans. We took his advice and decided to give it a try. When we got their, we felt a little under dressed wearing jeans and a nice top so make sure you fancy yourself up before dining here. We didn’t have a reservation but still were seated immediately because we agreed to sit at the oyster bar at the back. We didn’t mind this though because it was actually entertaining to watch all the appetizers and desserts being made at the bar as we dined. We started off with the smoked tuna dip. This tasted like a can of chicken of the sea tuna with a slightly smokey taste which was served with what seemed to be just some saltine crackers. It was a nice snack but nothing impressive, especially for $ 7. We then decided to split the spicy ground shrimp & noodles small plate and the seafood gumbo. It was a good decision to split the meal because the shrimp and noodles small plate seemed like a regular entrée portion to me(no complaints there). It was yummy and just spicy enough to add some heat but not overpower the other flavors. The seafood gumbo had great cajun flavors. I also had the nola brewery blonde ale which was nothing too special but was a good addition to the meal. We opted out of ordering a dessert because we were so full but I definitely regret not making room for some now. As mentioned earlier, from our seats we could see all of the desserts being made. Each one made us ooh and aww, especially the salted peanut pie and salted caramel cake. If you go, let me know if they are as tasty as they look! It was a somewhat pricey meal but we received fairly large portions for our money and had an upscale dining experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed our group’s lunch at Peche. I went with friends who had gone before and were able to make some great recommendations. The restaurant is large and open with floors to ceiling windows on two sides which I really liked. We started with a bevy of appetizers: Fried bread: so simple yet so good Hughpuppies: some of the best I’ve ever had Smoked Tuna Dip: not a huge tuna fan, but I enjoyed this dip The shrimp roll was recommended so that’s what I went with. It was really really good. All of your traditional lobster elements were there. Great bun, lots of shrimp, coated with a great mix of mayo and mustard. We shared a side of the brussel sprouts and white beans. Both were very good. I really appreciated the sweet/hot chili vinegar that was on the brussel sprouts. I would have loved to have had room for dessert but I was absolutely stuffed. I suppose I’ll have to go back. :)

One week after visiting NOLA, and I am dreaming of my two dinners I had at Peche. It was so good the first time, me and my girlfriends had to go back once more. For the first night, my party of 5 ended up sitting at the bar and the bartender there was amazing — attentive, funny, and had the best recommendations. Sitting at the bar heightened our experience and we wish we got to sit there the second night. The quality of the food was amazing. I shared & recommend: –Satsuma Old Fashioned cocktail –Roasted Beets –Oysters(all 3 kinds avail) –Baked drum w/calas + mushroom broth –Salted caramel cake I’m looking at the menu again to ensure I write the correct names but it makes me wish I was back. I’ll have to end my review for the safety of my cravings.

Visiting NOLA for the first time, Peche was not on my radar. Thankfully, a local who works at Belladonna Spa HIGHLY recommend us to make reservations at Peche. While we took the recommendation to heart & made sure to dine here, we didn’t listen to the«make reservations» part & decided to drop in. Luckily, my good karma kicked in and there were two empty seats at the bar where you can dine, too! PERFECTION! The host, the restaurant vibe & Dave, our bartender/server were awesome. Dave was great and his menu favorites were DIVINE.(Thank you Dave!!!) Our first dinner in NOLA courtesy of Peche: Smoked Tuna Dip WOW Crab + Jalapeño Capellini YUM Steak Tartare with Oyster Aioli DELICIOUS Key Lime Pie DAMN We ate EVERYTHING! No shame in our game, there was nothing left. Yes, it was that AMAZING! We were in NOLA for 5 days and dined at many restaurants and legendary places and Peche was the most memorable! The one restaurant we wanted to return to if we just had enough time! Just thinking back at this meal, I’m sitting here wishing I could fly to NOLA right now! LIKERIGHTNOW!

Cool vibe. BUT I am so disappointed in this place. My husband and I were in town for one night celebrating our anniversary and chose this restaurant for our only dinner. Our main issue was our SERVER!!! Apparently each table has 2 servers. A front line and a back line. It was our«front line» guy, Shawn(sp?). Our«back line» guy Peter was fine but his job is mainly to take plates away. This front line person can really make it or break it! He broke it. He didn’t seem like he cared ATALL! He seemed like he didn’t wand do be there and if he was having a bad night(which I get it, people do) then send him home to recoup and try again another day. I have a diary allergy and don’t eat meat. I do eat seafood. My husband usually gets his food dairy free as well so I can taste his(great husband!). We told our server this. We asked for his recommendation and he proceeded to recommend steak and a chicken dishes! We steered him back to the fish options and he quickly walked away saying he’d check with the kitchen. I ordered the cobia with grits and kale. Now. I KNOW grits can be made diary free BUT I get it… these are probably pre made and they weren’t going to make me a special batch so they offered to give me more kale. I’m a kale loving girl. I seriously have thought about buying one of those«KALE» t-shirts to support it! BUT this kale was so chewy and tough I couldn’t break it down and felt like I was going to choke swallowing it. We relayed this to our server when we could wave him down. He quickly announced he’d have more kale made and ran away. Same situation on round 2 of the kale, round 2 was actually even tougher. We never saw our server again to tell him. My husband ordered the drum. The table next to us ordered the same think but we noticed hers came with hush puppies and she said they were the best part. My husband can eat those. He just wanted his fish dairy free so I could eat if. We never saw our server to be able to ask him to bring these. We also ordered the Brussel sprouts as a side dish. They were good. Not the best we’ve had but pretty good. The basic fish dishes we had were also good but nothing that I’m sending people back for. Maybe it would be different if they were filled with butter but a «scratch» restaurant should be able to accommodate this and make that same experience for someone with a food allergy. Especially for a fish dish! It’s not like I ordered Alfredo. OMG after writing this for a while I want to lower my rating! I’m getting worked up over the terrible service. To wrap it up. I initially started with a 3 rating bc the food was fine but after consulting with my hubby since he took part in this we moved it down to a solid 2 but the server, Shawn, deserved a negative rating! Won’t be recommending this place based on our experience. Obviously! LOL

I finally made it over to Peche! It was kind of a last minute decision, so we arrived sans reservation on a Friday night. I sheepishly asked the host if there were any tables and was told that there were seats opening up at the oyster bar in about 10 minutes. But as we made our way to the bar to wait, folks got up from the bar and voila, there were seats for us right away. Lucky, I know. The bartenders were really friendly. I started the meal with the Hemingway, which was a nice refreshing drink. I then ordered the smoked drum appetizer and the crab and jalapeño capellini. When the appetizer arrived, the bartender who had put in the order for us heard the runner say«crab salad,» and she went, «Wait. Crab? Not drum?» She then went back to the ordering system and checked what she put in, came back to me, and said that she had put in the wrong item and that she’d take care of it. So now I was gonna have to eat the crab salad, smoked drum salad, and the capellini. Everything was delicious, but both the crab salad and the smoked drum salad were a bit too salty. The capellini was great and it’s definitely not a small plate. I really shouldn’t have eaten that whole thing after my two appetizers. But oh well. I also wanted to try the noodles with ground shrimp. I guess I’ll have to make my way back to try those.

Great drinks, really good food and cool vibe. We really enjoyed it! We had the grilled cobia, the Louisiana shrimp roll and oysters. As for the drinks, I really recommend the Ancient Mariner.

This was my most favorite meal in NOLA, despite the 1.5 hour wait. I will suggest hanging out at the bar if you have a long wait because the bartenders are friendly and fast, and they will keep you supplied with delicious cocktails. Also, you can hover over bar diners(full menu available) to score a seat there. Anyways, we lucked out and scored seats at the raw bar(back end of the restaurant), which was a great place to scope out the raw fish offerings. My companion and I chose the raw seafood salad. Boy! It was quite a revelation and I ate up every fresh, umami-ey, and tender bite. Next up, I split a side of brussel sprouts with my friend and had the crab and jalapeño pasta as my main. It was quite possibly the best dish I had during my time in NOLA. I think I was a little overwhelmed with the all the greasy food I had been ingesting that week, and the clean flavors of the crab, jalapeño, and pasta really spoke to me. Overall, a high-energy, modern, and flavorful restaurant worth checking out.

Disappointing experience. Started off poorly; our server was like a used car salesman and informed us we had not ordered enough, was misleading about portion sizes(claimed my wife’s starter was tiny — was normal appetizer size) and did a hard sale(fortunately we did not listen as what we originally ordered made for a large lunch — and we spent well north of $ 100 for two, not sure why she was so pushy about having us order more)! She mainly ignored us the rest of the meal. The size of the two-tops are quite small for a venue at this price point which added to the poor initial impression. Was excited to see a nice collection of whiskeys as we entered; I ordered a Manhattan with Willet rye and a few minutes later my cocktail was delivered with the glass literally overflowing with ice cubes and no orange twist. Food wise the savories were mediocre at best; seafood gumbo had hardly any seafood to speak off — and taste wise I couldn’t even figure out what it was. The whole redfish was flavorful, but was swimming in a large pool of oil. Best dish by far was dessert — salted peanut pie, absolutely delicious and prevented the meal from being a disaster.

My only complaint about this place is that I cannot eat hear every day because it would be cost prohibitive. But for special occasions or when you feel like a culinary experience, this place will not disappoint. Furthermore, I would say you get good value for the high prices. I came here with a friend on a Tuesday night in November 2015 and they were booked! An hour wait for a group of two during the middle of a week? Definitely a sign of a good spot. We walked around for an hour or so and came back. We were seated promptly, We ordered half a dozen oysters, a second appetizer that slips my mind, a redfish entrée, and a side of Brussels sprouts. Rarely to I ever have a meal where everything is damn near perfect, but this was one of those meals. The entire meal cost about $ 95, which seems reasonable given our experience. I would recommend splurging for the expensive entrée and sharing. At least in the case of the whole fish, there was more than enough to feed two people. The waiter was helpful and engaging. The service was good. The ambiance was great. And the food was spectacular. I’m a big fan and will definitely return.

Just about the best oysters I’ve ever had! We were referred to this place by our driver who we met at the airport. It’s definitely more upscale than what we expected. Service was great, ambiance was classy, place was very clean and even a little hipster trendy. The oyster menu had different types of oysters. I guess they came from different regions and were of various size and texture. Since we had no clue, the server suggested we try them all. We were splitting oysters with 4 people, so after all that was said and done, we had 4 dozen oysters between the 4 of us. We also ordered the fried brussels sprouts with chili vinegar, the smoked tuna dip and the fried bread with sea salt. Overall, I loved the oysters best.

Talk about Southern Hospitality! Heather was our server on a Wednesday evening and she was AWESOME! Since it was National Oysters Day when my friends and I came to Peche, we decided to order 4 dozen oysters. Heather recommended that we ordered a sample of each oysters and that’s what we did. We also ordered the tuna dip, Brussel sprouts and fried bread. The oysters were really good and fresh. At first we ordered 2 dozen but after about 5 minutes, we sent in an order to have 2 dozen more. You can distinguish the oysters by the size and looks of the shells but they were all fresh tasting and delicious. I didn’t care too much for the Brussel sprouts. The fried bread were good but you have to eat them right away because they don’t taste as good cold. They were a bit salty on the outside but soft, chewy and sweeter on the inside. It went great with the oysters. My experience here was a good one. Totally worth the price for the great experience!
