After a long day of being a tourist, On Trois made a nice pit stop on the way back to our hotel. Hushed lighting, a harpist, and the antebellum plantation décor made for an urbane round(or two). Service wasn’t quite as exacting as the Ritz usually provides. An oddity: Beringer White Zinfandel on the by-the-glass wine list for an outrageous $ 10! For that price you can buy the whole box! Also, Rose’s Lime Juice instead of fresh. Blech!

Mostly I go to On Trois for the music(Jeremy Davenport 3 nights a week), but the people watching is also excellent. I always get good service from the bartenders and wait staff(although I’ve never eaten there). The drinks are pricey but I just consider that I’m paying for the fancy atmosphere.

The server, Gerald, initially made adjust on my final bill that included a 20 percent tip that I did not make. I noticed this on a transaction that was eventual reversed to the original amount. That is stealing if not fraud. The manager of the restaurant offered to pay for an additional meal at the restaurant but I refused. I just wanted to clue the manager that training is needed. If I ever do return to the hotel, I will more than likely just go to the bar.
