Nice independent toy shop. They carried some nice dolls including Madam Alexander. Cool puppets and Sesame Street plush animals. Despite the Sanrio signage they did not have much Hello Kitty and her friends. This is not a tourist trap, but a shop a local would actually go to. Awesome hand painted Matryoshka dolls.

This shop is a mix of local books, standard independent toy store fare and the usual tacky, cliché NOLA souvenirs.(Of which I’m guilty of picking up a few.) The woman there was very helpful in selecting a good gift for my pre-schooler.

Cool store with lots of unique books, toys, etc. There seem to be a few of them scattered in the city.

Maybe not«A-OK,» but just«OK»… Stopped by here on a brief trip to NOLA and thought there was a decent selection of toys. I liked the Star Trek lunch boxes. My grandma wanted to buy a plane that was on display, which was the last one in stock, so an employee had to get it for her. He wasn’t terribly polite and in fact, ditched my grandma without warning for a minute to help another customer. It seriously wouldn’t have taken more than a few seconds to place the plane in the box(which he’d already had before he ditched her), and I find it in bad taste that he diverted his attention away from my grandma without first asking to be excused to help another customer.

This is a nice little shop down by the river. Lots of unique gifts. Not cheap, but a great place to find gifts to take home to the little ones.
