Go to the back of the Erin Rose bar to order your food. It took me 10 minutes of walking by the same area awkwardly to realize it was in the back. 25 minute wait, not a problem because they had a huge order come in before me. Got the $ 14 seared gulf shrimp po-boy. Shrimp was salty and overcooked, but overall the sandwich was good. Cleanliness was under what I would expect for a place charging what they do for their fare. But, since most of their customers are drunk and probably won’t remember what happened, it’s appropriate for who they are marketing to.

This place is a bit hidden in the back of the Erin Rose. These poboys are LEGIT! This is a favorite spot of the local service industry locals and one of the best bars in America by Esquire magazine. Come in here and try a true po’boy. Be cool, smile and Courtney will pour you the finest beverage in NOLA!

The shrimp poboy is banh mi inspired — with a carrot slaw, sriracha aoili and bread from a Vietnamese bakery. Interested in some rich, earthy flavors? The vegan poboy has a black bean spread — similar in texture to refried beans, roasted sweet potatoes and greens. Cumin is pretty present, but damn if it isn’t good! The staff are really nice, and we went twice on my trip to the Big Easy.

Had an excellent fried shrimp po’boy and local beer here. I am no millennial but I sure felt like one scarfing those down in the back room of the bar where this place is located. Lovely young woman working behind the counter. Left quite happy.

Great shrimp poboy– be forewarned it is in the back of a bar so hard to find, but totally worth the look. My husband has the pork belly and really likes it also– cash only so come prepared

The service was wonderful; the girl taking care of us could not have been more pleasant, which I can’t imagine is easy while serving droves of drunken people in a hot kitchen while its 93° outside. The wait was about 10min, not too long. We got the shrimp and the pork belly. The pork belly was AMAZEBALLS. I took one bite and just blurted out«oh my god» with a mouthful of food, I couldn’t help it. The shrimp was absolutely nothing to write home about. So. Much. Slaw. It really, really overpowered the shrimp. It was like eating carrot salad. I wouldn’t order this again if you bought it and paid me to eat it. The pork belly though? All day long.

We decided to try this place on the recommendation of a site that lists vegetarian and vegan restaurants in various cities. This place did have both vegan and vegetarian options, but they were very limited. This place is actually a bar out front, «Erin Rose,» with the Killer Po Boys«satellite» shop in the back. That’s makes a big difference. The difference is that the already limited number of options is even more limited. They only offer four Po Boys, and one Non Po Boy. Of the four Po Boys offered, only one is vegan/vegetarian, and, yes, it is vegan, but it may not be prepared in a vegan kitchen. That Po Boy is the Roasted Sweet Potato Po Boy with Black-eyed pea and pecan spread, pickled shallots and wilted greens. It costs $ 9.00, and only comes as a sandwich — no chips, no extras. The Po Boy roll was pretty good, but not perfect, and not the best. The really good vegetarian sandwich,(if you allow yourself cheese), is the Jameson Grilled Cheese sandwich served on whole grain bread, with aged, English chees and Jameson. It was very tasty, but, again, it came alone — no chips, no extras, and it was $ 8.00. On both sandwiches, they do offer a variety of their own mixed condiments that you add yourself. I only tried one that had habaneros in it, and I liked it. It was not that hot. All in all, it was OK, but kind of pricey for what you get. And, as one reviewer noted, it is served in a «neighborhood» bar. I wouldn’t go as far as to call it a «dive» bar, though. It is just a local bar typical of the area. I would eat this sandwich if I were there, but I certainly would not go out of my way to get one. All of the staff, by the way, were very friendly, helpful, and courteous. The bar, itself, is very popular, and fills up quicklky. Get there early.

This Killer PoBoys location is at the back of the Erin Rose Bar. It is easy to miss, but don’t! It is so good! I ordered the Roast Sweet potato poboy. Did you know it’s vegan!?! YAY!!! It also goes great with beer. The wait was about 20 + minutes, but totally worth it. My first bite… heaven!

I was staying in the French Quarter and Killer Poboys was my first meal in New Orleans. Prices were reasonable and the pork belly po boy I got was pretty good too($ 12). I appreciated the unique po boys they offered since every other restaurant in the area seems to only have fried seafood versions. Who would’ve thought I’d end up having one that had pork belly in it! I highly recommend it if you’re a fan of pork belly. The cabbage slaw in the po boy goes well with it too. This particular location is a bit odd since it’s located in the back of a bar(Erin Rose) so you probably have to be 21+. It’s also very small so there’s not much seating. However, they’ve recently opened another location in the French Quarter that is a standalone spot so you may want to go there if you plan to dine-in(or if you’re not 21 yet lol). Overall, I enjoyed their creative takes on po boys and would return if I’m ever in New Orleans again.

Amazing po boys. The bread was fresh and perfectly crisp. We had the shrimp po boy which was very tasty and had lots of shrimp. The place can be confusing to find. We didn’t know it was in the back of bar. But the setting is perfect for grabbing a drink and a quick bite.

Overall: A good hole in the wall for some quality po boys. Head to the back of the bar! The good: Shrimp tasty fantastic and was fresh. The bread was good and the slaw in the sandwich was flavorful as well. The sauces to add were had a good kick to em. Service was friendly and it didn’t take incredibly long. The bad: Not a ton of options to choose from. Unless you want to sit at a bar or stand outside at the tiny tables, those are your only options besides grabbing and going somewhere else. A little pricey(shrimp was $ 14). Cash only. Atmosphere: 8⁄10 Service: 8⁄10 Food: 8⁄10

Honesty in food and drink is woefully rare in this age of chains and cookie cutter product. I have nothing against consistency, in fact, reliable reproducibility in producing food and drink is a nothing short of a minor miracle. But what I do take issue with is the«sameness» of it all. This sameness encourages persistent mediocrity, for consumers to accept that this is as good a food gets and discourages those who produce it to innovate and venture outside of «safe». It’s all a vicious cycle of «good enough». Well it comes down to folks like those that look a little grungy and marginalized that ironically are entrusted with the sacred task of carrying American cuisine forward. They are the prime-movers of evolutionary change that ensures that American cuisine remains one of the most exciting, fresh and awe-inspiring forces of nature. The fine folks that work the little kitchen behind Erin Rose’s all deserve our love, and definitely all our respect for doing what they do whenever they work a shift on the line at Killer’s. There is just something gut-wrenchingly sweet, and even sentimental about the apparently simple entrée that you lay your eyes on at the end of a mellow 10 minute wait. It’s a toasted baguette or a roll, pickled slaw, meat. Take your first bite and temporarily lose consciousness as the realization that what you’ve just put in your mouth may be the single most concentrated hit of honesty that you’ve had in a very very long time. Jaded expectations give way to an almost childlike wonder as you savor seasoned gulf shrimp fade into pickled slaw only to have your tastebuds awakened by the herbal essence of fresh cilantro. Your expectations are limited to the next hit of flavor, maybe as far as the next bite, but nothing more. You know you’ve just witnessed something special, something unusual, something that if allowed to take root and keep growing will continue to keep USA great, not great again, but keeping what is already great, great! I say less rhetoric and more honesty, something that is as true in politics as it is in food.

Sometimes the hype might get in the way. I have heard so many great things and so I expected this place to rock my world. It was a ripple, that’s all. I knew it was small, but somehow didn’t expect that small. Still, we were able to get a table, and honestly I wouldn’t have minded eating at the railing. Wherever you eat, it’s on a stool. I had the shrimp poboy. The bread was outstanding, and we all know that’s what makes a good poboy. The pickled slaw was enjoyable. Shrimp was perfectly seared but without much flavor. Bob had the meatloaf poboy and ate half of it… a clear indication he didn’t like it. That and the face he made when pulling a cucumber out of the sandwich… you gotta admit cucumber on a meatloaf is strange. But these aren’t you«common» poboys. I figuring 3 ½ just for the uniqueness. But still, I think next time I’ll go to back to Johnny’s.

Killer Poboys was the best meal I had in NOLA(and it was vegetarian!!). They are in the very back of the Erin Rose bar. I had the sweet potato and spinach Poboys and it was honestly amazing. My boyfriend loved the shrimp Poboys but decided by vegetarian option was even better than his. It was delicious and Erin Rose is a fun bar as well.

Tucked away at the back of the Erin Rose bar, this is the very definition of a «hole in the wall gem!» The Erin Rose is easily missed, as it is only about 10′ wide at the street, and it is almost a block off bourbon street. Make the effort though, and you will be in for a couple of treats. The beer and drinks at the bar are amazing, however the food at Killer Poboys is easily worth a 2 mile hike. They usually have 5 options, and every time I’ve been I’ve gotten the seared Shrimp sandwich. The flavors are intense, the portions huge. This last time my friend ordered a meatloaf poboy, which seemed like a silly choice until he begged me to split and share. I wouldn’t necessarily order it again over the shrimp poboy, but it was very, very good. Anyway, take the time and effort to get here, and you will be rewarded with what is currently the best lunch in the French Quarter hands down.

Serving a NOLA staple with Vietnamese charm, Killer Poboys combines high quality ingredients with unique flavors. Nestled in the back room of the Erin Rose just off Bourbon Street, the only thing dirtier than the venue is the sauce on your poboy. I mean that as a compliment. I got the Grilled Shrimp Poboy($ 14). Poboys are normally deep fried, so this was a nice change of pace. With fresh, juicy shrimps, there’s a real nice combination of textures with the shredded carrot and sauce, and also of flavors with the mint. This isn’t the place for an authentic poboy, but if you like banh mi and want the local experience, you’ll have a good time. Gotta come back and try the pork belly! Remember they only take cash!

My wife and I were on vacation in New Orleans and heard about this hole in the wall that had amazing po’ boys. They are literally in the back of a small bar with about 20 seats. I ordered a beer and they brought out my grilled shrimp po’ boy and I ate it outside. The bread was so good, super crusty and chewy with huge chunks of shrimps. The sauce and condiments were so great! I would highly recommend this place, the bar is very divey, but the service was great.

Went to New orleans to try this place out since it had so many reviews on Unilocal. This is actually connected to a bar, so it can be confusing if you’ve never been here before. It’s called Erin something. My apologies that I do not recall the name of the bar. Their area is very small in the back and you get lucky if you find seating back there. I ordered the Gulf Shrimp Poboy and oh my it was delicious. I thought it was cooked perfectly and the shrimp was a good size. The flavors blended with each other very well. It’s even better with hot sauce in my opinion. I would def come back here when I come back to New Orleans. I’m glad i was able to find this place on Unilocal to try out. My friends did get the meatloaf one and thought it was okay in their opinion. My friends don’t like seafood, so they wouldn’t have ordered the Shrimp poboy.

Nestled in the back of Erin Rose bar, Killer Poboys serves just that-killer poboys. We finally had the pork belly poboy which was so good. It was sweet and garlicky. It was dressed well. Most of the other poboys were had were pretty dry.

My friends and I were so hungry after going on a swamp tour in LaPlace, so we were very excited for some Poboys! Only problem was, when we got to the bar, we weren’t sure if it was the right place. It is! Just walk all the way to the back and the Killer Poboys are there. It’s really small so there probably won’t be seating there. The bar welcomes you, so don’t worry if you can’t find seating in the little back room. I got the pork belly Poboy since I already tried the shrimp one at Johnny’s. Best decision ever! The pork belly Poboy was so delicious, savory, and flavorful! The pork belly itself was cooked perfectly and so tender. The flavors were unlike anything I’ve ever had before. It was a little soggy since it was sitting in the juices, but it just made the sandwich tastier and a little less crunchy. If I could, I would go back and try their other sandwiches, but I definitely will never forget the amazing pork belly Poboy!

Hey you, over there. Now that you’ve probably eaten enough beignet to put you in diabetic-crisis, it’s time to make a smarter, more flavorful choice. One way to do that: With Killer Po’ Boys; marinated radish, carrot, cucumber, herbs, and its spicy special sauce which will be added to the pan-seared Gulf Shrimp, you name it. It was hard to put down. Just try to put it down. I dare you. The Po’ Boys we waited in line for, were absolutely exquisite, incredible, cheap and most importantly huge Po’ Boys. Four and half Unilocal

Was staying in the French Quarter for vacation while the girlfriend was working so I decided to look for a good Po’Boy to eat while on vacation. I saw this place on Unilocal and decided to try it out. Unfortunately, the place is hidden at the back of a bar and besides that the bar itself is tiny and easily missed as well. Well I eventually found it after passing it up like 5 times, and made my way to the back of the bar in to a really small room. I decided to order porkbelly po’boy, which rang up to around 10 dollars, which I felt was a little pricey after seeing the size of the sandwiches the other customers had. I sat in the corner of the really dingy and musty room and awaited for my order to come out. Once I received my sandwich, I was disappointed at the size, but take note with all the negativity above I still give it a 4 star review. This is where they shine. That sandwich was one of the greatest things I ate during my vacation there(and there are a ton of good things there). It had a delicious sweet and savoriness. The only bad part was all the juices that spilled on to my container which I wanted to slurp up(and probably did when no one was looking. I definitely recommend trying this place if you get the chance(and if you can find it).

Dang, shawty. You’re a star. Hi, I’m a California girl – born and raised in Los Angeles. Before arriving in New Orleans, I had heard of a po’boy, but I couldn’t tell you what it was. A sandwich, yes, but what made it special? A unique sauce? A particular cut of beef? At first, I considered ordering a po’boy from room service to try it out, but after further consideration, I wanted to go bigger. Unilocal led me to Killer Poboys. Which really meant Unilocal led me to Erin Rose, a small bar full of happy folks at all hours. I was confused but determined, and I loitered outside the bar for a few minutes trying to ascertain Killer Poboys’ location. A couple approached with their phones in hand, talking about the pork belly po’boy. Perhaps noting my confusion(or the eager growling of my stomach), they asked if I was looking for Killer Poboys and informed me that it was located at the back of the bar. So, when you get to Erin Rose, walk through. Stop at the ATM between the bar and Killer Poboys to get some cash for your order. Make it. Have a seat. Wait for your name to be called and then BEAMAZED. We ordered the pork belly po’boy(duh) and the gulf shrimp po’boy(market price). Without a doubt, this was the best meal I ate in New Orleans. Are there words to describe bread so cloud-like yet crispy, sauces so sweet yet profound, meat and shrimp that leaves you longing? And the GARLIC, my god. I have no regrets. A mural of smiling faces decorates the wall of the tiny establishment, which consists of a few tables, chairs, and a counter where you order. The place is deceptively simple, yet what they produce is something magnificent. Don’t miss out.

Vale a pena experimentar.
