Great place. I don’t have need to go but 2 – 3 times per year, and I always think they won’t have what I need because they are relatively small, and I’ll need to go to a big box like Home Depot, but they never fail to have what I need at a good price and they have great, old fashioned, and immediate help. I find it so frustrating at Home Depot or Lowes just finding someone to help me navigate the place. At Clement’s I’m greeted at the door and helped almost instantly. Last trip I needed help securing a Satsuma tree in my yard before storm season. They helped me get the right things and it worked out perfectly. Great shop, and it’s great just to walk down Magazine and support an old fashioned, friendly local business.

This right here is hope that a small locally owned hardware store(or any small locally owned specialty store) has promise to stay alive. This was another on the list to find waldo in July 2015, and I am very happy to have found this gem. I was greeted immediately and helped, the gentleman did get a giggle, as I was yet again on a mission to find Waldo. Since I currently have no hardware needs, I purchased a can of coke that was very cold, nice on a warm day like today. If I ever have hardware needs in the future, I will come here.

This is my go-to hardware store. Despite the small size, they nearly always have what I’m looking for. The helpfulness of the staff with finding things, improvisation tips, and pleasantness sets a high standard I see nowhere else. These people are plugged into the quirky hardware needs of uptown New Orleans century-old houses. If they don’t have it, they know where to find it. Parking is nearly always within a block walk, and much more pleasant than any large parking lot. The traffic light at their corner means you don’t have to exchange emergency contact information with a stranger before crossing the maniacal Magazine street traffic.

Where else can you get exactly what you need for repairs around the house without having to buy big packs of screws, hardware — always inexpensive — parking is a snap. Friendly and knowledgeable clerks. the best!

Came in to get a couple nuts and washers. I was greeted almost immediately upon walking in and shown exactly where the nuts and washers are. I found what I needed and paid(less than 60 cents total) within a couple minutes. Great store.

I like this place, the service is awesome and they really know their stuff. It’s one if those old school type stores from a day and age where customer service is first on the list.

I love these old time hardware stores and I’m very happy to see they seem to be relatively easy to find in New Orleans, even in Lowes and Home Depot times(kill me). This is the kind of place where you get very personalized customer service from knowledgeable staff. We went in today, a Saturday, and the place was busy as hell. We were still greeted and helped immediately. We picked up a small amount of nails for hanging pictures — because we bought so few(15 or so) they just gave them to us for free! Who says there’s no free lunch? Also, they have one of those chiclet gum machines and it doesn’t scrimp on how many pieces it cranks out. I did a small amount of price comparing(we just went to Home Depot like two days ago) and prices were competitive on the few items we bought(gas can and a few other little things), although I can’t speak to the store in general.

Loyal, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. Parking is a problem and their inventory is limited, but it’s not a bad place to start for a do-it-yourself project that you need advice on.

Clement Hardware Store is one of the most unique stores of our times. You are greeted when you come in and taken immediately to the aisle to obtain what you are looking for. I bought a house across the street and went through a major renovation. They were so convenient and offered to set up a tab for me. When does that ever happen these days. I walked back and forth on a daily basis or sent my workers to pick things up. They had what I needed and the quality was alway much better than you’d find at the big chains. Mardi Gras came around and they were sure to invite me to their open house for some libations and jambalaya prepared by the owners. Always happy when I go in and made me feel at home during this renovation. I actually live in CA but feel I have family there!

Great little local hardware store. Had to go by twice in one day when we were moving into the new place and the people working were very helpful and informed. The prices are very reasonable. Unless Clement’s doesn’t have something I’m looking for, I won’t be going back to any of the big chain hardware stores again.

I don’t like saying negative things about an independently owned store like this, esp. because the mistakes made could have been innocent, but last time I went there I had a really bad experience. Like the kind where you walk out shaking with anger. The kind of experience where only chocolate or a stiff drink can calm your nerves.(I opted for chocolate this time around) The positive: they greet you when you walk in and are willing to help you find what you’re looking for. The negative: make sure you actually get what you ask for and count your change! I later went to Ace Hardware down the street and got what I was looking for, and it was about $ 1.50 less, but I had to find it myself in their maze of rows. I’ll go back, but with some trepidation.

You know this is one of those older family owned businesses that you just love to visit. You just don’t get this type of walk in the store and immediately helped kinda service anymore. But they don’t just point you in the right direction, they actually walk around with you and help you get what you need.

They sell pre-made Mardi Gras ladders, but you have to trick them out yourself. Decent selection, incredibly helpful staff.
