Breakfast diner in the French Quarter. Went during spring break and there was no wait. Greasy, salty food — great for after being out late :)

I would give this zero stars if I could. I have never been treated more rudely in a restaurant ever. We had to ask for someone to wait on us after 10 minutes. The the servers argued about who’s job it was to take our order. Finally the woman who took our order acted as though we should be grateful she came over at all. She didn’t bring us any beverages(we grabbed our own waters from the tray on the counter). We ordered omelette with hash browns and sides of bacon. We got omelettes with no silverware. We had to ask about the bacon and the hash browns to which our rude server said, «oh they’re going to get their hash browns and bacon, don’t push your luck.» Are you kidding me? We ended up with one side of hash browns and no bacon at any point. This place needs to revisit what customer service is about. The food that we had was average. So many better places to go with much better service. I really don’t think it could’ve been worse.

We stopped here looking for a place to rest after wandering the French Market. Camellia Grill brought the fun atmosphere and tasty food. The best dish from our meal was the well spiced Rano omelette. It seems breakfast is the go to here. Least successful was the Harry Yankee po boy. Roast beef was over cooked and tough. Wait staff was super friendly and fun and definitely worth coming back for.

The best. Reminds me of my youth when my mother use to bring me to brunch every Wen’s day at the original location. Service was great. I enjoyed reliving a true childhood experience.

Wow. Great vibe. Staff was fun. Old school diner style with large granite counter and plenty of seating. They were out of hash browns but that did not detract.

Atmosphere is great if like interacting with people! The food is plentiful and very good. Highly recommend this place! Mark Davis would fit in just fine here…

I enjoyed my visit to Camilla Grill and would definitely return. I loved how the staff all seemed like family in how they joked with one another. I ordered a chicken breast and waffles. I assumed(incorrectly) it would be a fried chicken breast but it was grilled. Oh well, it saved a few thousand calories. The waffle was very thin and somehow still perfectly filling. They had containers those syrup containers for both syrup and butter so I just poured it on the waffle. Amazing. The chicken breast was ever so slightly dry but still delicious.

I had a great experience at Camellia Grill. My friend and I went early(around 9 am) on a Saturday, and we didn’t have to wait at all. By the time we left, there was a line. I got the potato and onions omelette, and my friend got the Mexican omelette. They are HUGE and come with grits. It was the best omelette of my life. I have no idea how they make the eggs so fluffy — it was a superb experience. The coffee was also surprisingly delicious. I will definitely be returning the next time I’m in New Orleans.

Really enjoyed this place; great to find a cheap, tasty, no-frills diner in the Quarter. My significant otter was concerned by low Unilocal score, but I’m glad we checked it out regardless. Good food. I had grilled sandwich –the Mardi Gras, and SO had a burger. Coffee was good diner coffee with plenty of refills, despite the note about«one cup» to prevent hogging a spot at the diner. Will return when looking for a nice diner breakfast or late night fix.

Don’t know what the negative reviews are about… we had a great time here! It’s an old school place with no tables just two wrap around marble counters. Our server John was HILARIOUS and was making the whole place laugh and smile. Good food. My turkey sandwich was nothing too exciting and didn’t come with a side. But my dad enjoyed his omelet. The mom and pop atmosphere makes this place awesome. The staff seemed to enjoy working there too. I’ll be back!

Don’t recommend wasting your money unless you’re desperate. Waitress was horrible and food was barely edible. If this place wasn’t in the location it’s in, they’d be shut down! Shame on the food and service inspector of this restaurant!!!

Unless you’re expecting more than an awesome diner in the middle of the Quarter, you’ll walk away satisfied without your pockets drained. The burgers are excellent, and not overpriced. The real deal, too. Not frozen patties. Good coffee with refills on the house.(They say limited to one, but if they’re not busy, they’ll keep your cup full.) Chicken tenders are tasty, but frozen.(My only reason not to give 5 stars.) Well cooked fries. The freezes are a one-of-a-kind trademark ice cream drink, and they’re delicious. All kinds of great omelets prepared right in front of you. Bottom line: if you want to steer clear of touristy rip-offs and just want a damn good burger that’s inexpensive compared to most Quarter food, stop in off the beaten path and relax with the good natured servers at this old school diner. Newly renovated and very clean. The marble counter awaits.

Quite possibly the worst omelette I’ve ever had, catsup couldn’t even help the over cooked mess.

I ordered a waffle, chili fries and coffee and also got to try my friend’s omelet and hash browns. Worst coffee I’ve ever had(walked to Spitfire Coffee afterwards which was perfect). Waffle was ok, but my girlfriend also got a waffle and it wasn’t fully cooked. Chili cheese fries were really bean heavy, the cheese consisted of a couple slices of barely melted American and I don’t think they salted the fries out of the fryer(had to add at the table). The hash browns tasted like nothing but vegetable oil. My one bite of my friend’s omelet was decent but the rest of it looked like it was more cheese than egg. Diner food is simple to execute, not sure why there were so many misses.

Seriously, the worst meal I’ve had in months. If you come here prepare for greasy garbage that will put you on the bowl almost immediately. The only good thing in this restaurant was the crushed ice.

This place was highly recommended and I am still wondering why… maybe their flagship location is the better one but not one of our meals was even good. «Crispy waffles» were soggy, hash browns tasted like pure oil, omelettes were sad and mostly cheese(which I would usually love but these were just done WRONG), grilled chicken was bland and over-cooked. The drinks didn’t even come out well — all coffees were lukewarm and spilled all over the saucers and there was something floating in the orange juice-from-concentrate. We have never had worse«diner food» in our lives and there were absolutely no redeeming qualities to note. Can’t even get the coffee right?! I would give this place zero stars if I could.

Newly opened after 3 month renovation. Friendly staff. Best omelette(Mexican omelette) I’ve had and pairs well with hot sauce!
