Visiting NOLA, in the neighborhood and saw the reviews. If you are gluten free, one word for you: magical. Amazing food, great drinks(gotta do the Spirits and Coffee) — makes you alert and creative at the same time!

Friendly staff, beautiful paintings and photography and the best iced coffee I’ve ever had(coming from Seattle that is really saying something). We’ll be back every day of our trip!

I had a yummy tofu scramble here. They also have vegan muffins, cookies and brownies. The people are really friendly and there is tons of room to chill out. Really cute place. Looked like they had good vegan sandwiches too.

A really well-situated place with excellent coffee and meh food. It’s a bit of a tourist trap. You can find much better quality if you take a 15-minute walk to Treme.

I’ll take an Irish coffee to-go, thank you very much! This was my last stop in New Orleans before making the trek home. I popped in around 10:30am and after some slow service(the one downside here) I ordered a small Irish coffee, which ran me slightly more than a drink at Starbucks would, plus it had alcohol in it. It seemed pretty hipster inside which reminded me of home(Los Angeles) so I have no complaints about the décor. It also seemed like quite a few people were parked at tables with their laptops out so if you’re looking to snag a seat that might prove a bit difficult. But give this place a chance, especially if you’d like a cocktail before the area bars have opened.

Above-average quality in a surprisingly hit-or-miss city. The food is good, though not quite spectacular. But, it gets the job done, and is where many of the entertainingly dissipated locals go for a bite. The service, when I went late on a Wednesday morning, is exceptionally friendly(a bit of a rarity in this town). Most importantly, try their ginger limeade. It’s the best thing I’ve had in the entire city.

This was a really good brunch option for our small group. $ 3 mimosa and $ 4.50 Bloody Mary all this weekend. The mimosa was terrific — generous champagne and a splash of juice. We had a couple of them. The bloody mary was definitely enjoyed by folks. It is an ‘order at the counter, and they deliver your food’ place and the staff were really friendly. I had the Sweet Southern Breakfast — scrambled egg, curried roasted potato(which I didn’t like, but the wife loved), and avocado. The wife had the Grits bowl(cheesy, rosemary grits) with goat cheese and a soft boiled egg — the grits were very good. Both were served with a big, tender biscuit. Our friends had the Southern Breakfast — and tried the alligator sausage, which was tasty, and the Veggie Scramble — and she was really glad she ordered this. We would definitely come back during our time here, since we are staying in the edge of the Marigny neighborhood. They have a great looking selection of sweet and savory pastries, which are calling me back.

I always love stopping by a great little bistro or café when I’m traveling through New Orleans. I love finding great spots and referring places in NOLA to my clients traveling through. Unilocal is a great resource for finding incredible eats, but unfortunately today’s visit to Café Rose Nicaud was a huge swing and a miss. We were traveling from Florida back to Texas and spent the night in New Orleans. We had a great night with friends and decided to try Café Rose Nicaud the next day based on the good reviews. I was excited to visit Frenchmans st again too. Upon entering, there was a line of about 6 people and two women taking orders slowly. One had short bleach blonde hair and the other a small Afro. The restaurant smelled great and the food looked on point. After waiting for about 15 minutes in a relatively short line, we placed our orders. My traveling buddy and I placed our orders(I wanted the southern breakfast and the coffee with a smile which sounded amazing). When I tried to pay, the woman with the Afro winced as I handed her a credit card. She tried to run it and then told me their credit card machine was temporarily out of order. She then told me I had 2 options: walk around the corner to an ATM and pay a fee to get cash, or just leave the restaurant. She was pretty rude about the situation. I would have gotten cash out if she had tried to apologize or offered a free drink or at least something. I was really excited to eat here too — having an employee tell me to leave because the restaurants machine was broken was incredibly disappointing. Why was it my fault that the restaurants machine was broken? Why is this employee trying to turn away business? I can easily say this was the worst customer service experience I have ever had(I own a customer service based business). Really ruined our short visit to New Orleans. Will keep recommending Elizabeth’s to my clients instead of Rose Nicaud.

Top notch breakfast food at Rose Nicaud and well worth our brisk morning walk. It seems to be popular with locals, but not so popular that you can’t snag a table as a visiting tourist. My fiancé and I enjoyed the rose benedict and a dish of eggs, curried potatoes, sweet bread and avocado. Both were packed with fresh ingredients and filled our tummies for a good portion of the day. The only disappointment was the burnt-tasting coffee. The barista made my latte quickly as we ordered at the counter, didn’t fill to the brim, and it was so bitter I couldn’t take more than a few sips. Thankfully spitfire coffee fulfilled my needs later that morning.

Excellent spot! Had the Southern Breakfast with Aligator Sausage which was delicious and a healthy portion. I usually stick with straight up Coffee so my review can’t help you with that, but the atmosphere was great! Went there daily in the morning for our coffee and quick bite to eat. Loved that the locals were all around this spot and the staff does a fantastic job. The menu isn’t exactly traditional. Rosemary and Cheese grits are good, but I’d say give a simple grits option.

Wow this is my 300th review! I’d try to think of something profound to write, but it’s after midnight. Sorry! Café Rose Nicaud in the Marigny was a short walk from our French Quarter hotel and out of the main tourist zone. That meant friendly neighborhood service and fair prices. Like many other New Orleans breakfast/brunch places, it’s order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Cappuccino came in 3 sizes. Thank you for XL! Rose Nicaud’s relaxed morning pace was New Orleans Big Easy. We were not rushed from our table. I enjoyed the Southern Breakfast which came with scrambled eggs, rosemary cheese grits and alligator sausage. I chose bread instead of a Southern biscuit since I’m not a big fan of them. Nothing jumped out at me as memorable. Ha, the alligator sausage was memorable! It was spiced and juicy but not greasy. I was surprised the alligator sausage was so tasty compared to deep fried bits. This was the day after we saw alligators on the swamp tour. Hakuna Matata.

Thought we happened on a secret find… ordered the Rose Benedict BFast and my wife had the coconut Thai soup and a regular sweet potato salad… After eating we discussed all the recommendations and great reviews. Light, tasty and it felt like love and local care were mixed in. Far cry from the tourist PO Boys and Hurricane shops! Our best find by far in NOLA. Cannot wait to come back!

The good: it was open on Labor Day(3 prior places we tried were closed). The ingredients were fresh and not choked in grease or fried. My Rose Benedict was good – especially with a touch or three of Tabasco. The alcoholic drinks were truly delish and not expensive at all. My ginger limeade was made by them, not a canned drink that they added vodka to but fresh made. Loved it. Wish I’d ordered three. The bad: my only issue was service but for me that can make or break s place. They seemed irritated to be open and busy on Labor Day. Our food was handed to us from the door since the only table we found was outside. The guy couldn’t be bothered to deliver to the table. Then I went back in to grab some silverware. There wasn’t any. I told the cashier who took our order. She shrugged her shoulders complete with the palms up gesture and said, check the other table. I walked over there. Nothing. Meanwhile my breakfast was cooling off outside. Argh! Then I heard the clinking of silverware as the other girl had shoved some still dripping wet forks into the canister at the other table without even signaling to me that they were available. The food was fine, the drinks was great but I really hate when service is disinterested, overly nonchalant and/or rude. It seems ungrateful especially when a generous tip was left in the jar that informed customers that«every time a tip isn’t left a unicorn dies.» I like unicorns but I didn’t like the service at all. Hopefully it was an «off» day for the café.

Perfect local café in a great location. The café is not big so if you want to sit make sure you plan ahead, we came here with a party of 13 and they were able to put a bunch of seats together for us which was awesome of them. It’s cafeteria style, so you order first at the counter and they bring out the food to your table. The food: –Delicious iced coffee –Southern breakfast, which included eggs, a biscuit, alligator sausage and rosemary grits was amazing. The alligator sausage was perfect, tons of flavor and super smokey. The biscuit was one of the flakiest I ever had. I also added a side of bacon, which was ridiculous, super crispy and the perfect thickness. –Rose Benedict, is a thing of beauty(see picture). The same flaky biscuit described above topped with avocado, runny eggs, cheese, tomato, alligator sausage, the picture says it all. Overall delicious food, friendly staff and delicious iced coffee, no brainer for breakfast.

On our last day we got up really early to go exploring. This gem was open and we grabbed two coffees to go. One was iced and one was hot. The only complaint that I have is that they put my iced coffee in a container for hot coffee without saying anything about it. I just put a straw through the top and kept it going. The coffee was on fleek though and they had milk alternatives!

First off this is on Frenchman St which is where the locals go for amazing music. This place has some good pizza and other bar foods but the bands that they have play here are top notch. I highly recommend that anyone coming to the city come check this place out. Right now I am listing to some great live music that is a regular here and plays everything from classic rock to contemporary. Oh and if that isn’t enough they have a brass band sound and they do play some of the greats of that genre. Why aren’t you here yet?

I really like the feel and atmosphere of Café Rose! I’ve had a few meetings there lately, and I like the various table setups from comfortable two seating areas, where you won’t feel weird sitting by yourself, a booth, a round table. If I lived in this neighborhood I think it’d be a great place to come meet up with friends for a coffee in the front window and watch the happenings on Frenchmen. Their mocha is better than most places, and I’m really into their savory tarts with jerk chicken and goat cheese? since getting a plain bagel with cream cheese every morning definitely gets old fast! I think I might have to go in there and by a half dozen to eat from home. Their menu is pretty extensive too for breakfast and lunch, and the turn around is pretty quick! I ALSO see that they have cocktails, and one day I’m bound to order an Irish Coffee on an off day. ;) Just to recap, great place for a meeting, or work from while enjoying tasting pastries or non coffeehouse-esque food!

I like trying local cuisine and eating what the locals do whenever I’m out of town, but all the fried foods of NOLA left me wanting for something closer to the grub I get over in CA — meaning, healthy, fresh and with avocado on it. After a mildly exhaustive search on Unilocal, this place popped up. It’s like a café you’d find in Santa Monica inside, which I found pretty refreshing. They serve breakfast & lunch all day, with a large selection of all sorts of drinks, too. I ordered up a Jamaican jerk chicken wrap and a huge glass of water, both of which were completely necessary after a few days of po’ boys and endless booze. The wrap tasted great, with just the right amount of jerk seasoning and sauce along with red onions, spring mix and provolone cheese. I’m really not much of a wrap or sandwich guy, to be honest, but this was one of the better ones I’ve had. The best thing about it was the fresh taste and lack of heavy ingredients. As I was about to leave, I decided to order a coffee to go and wound up talking with the girl at the register about creepy«haunted» locations around town. She offered to drive me to an abandoned hospital on the outskirts of town, an offer I probably would have taken if I had the time and didn’t have a girlfriend that would be pissed off. Still, this girl was super friendly and that sounded like a fun time.

Great café on Frenchmen street, for a healthy breakfast and/or lunch ! Everything is good, from their breakfast to their salads, sandwiches and weekend specials ! And the morning glory muffin, my favorite !
