After a busy day of Quarter hopping, my companion and I had to make a stop for some iced coffee. Lucky for us, this spot was right on our route. First of all, what a cute place! It almost has a casual walk in diner type of feel. They not only offer coffee but they have beignets, obviously, as well as a few other cookies, tarts and sweet goodies as well as omelets and other savory yums. There was a bit of a line, but the staff here is great at getting peoples orders and moving folks through the line quickly. I had an iced coffee in my hand in no time and only for a little over $ 3– talk about great prices(considering you are in the Qwatas). We took a seat at the table on the side and sipped our coffee for a bit. There’s also a nice little outdoor seating area, if you would like some fresh air.

Lackluster but the location makes it convenient. I ordered the ham & cheese omelette because I was so hungry it hurt. It came with grits & bread — and no butter! This is anarchy, especially because I paid $ 13 for that with some hot tea. The service was good though.

Sorry Café Du Monde, it was all about these babies. Perfect texture, nice and fluffy and doughy and delicious. The powdered sugar is just perfect. It was my first NOLA beignet experience and it was heaven.

These beignets are the best in New Orleans. A lot better than the ones at Café Du Monde. I don’t think their café au lait is as good as the ones at Café Du Monde though. We didn’t try any of their other food offerings but almost everyone in our group agreed that the beignets here were the best.

I don’t know how accurate my review will be considering the fact that I haven’t tried Café Du Monde. but from what others and locals have told me, I trusted that café beignet was just as good & they were right! Personally, I loved the beignets here! They were huge, fluffy, lightly crispy on the outside and soft as freshly baked dough on the inside. Plus, it’s only 3 for $ 3.99! I was starving when I got mine and scoffed a little because I thought it wouldn’t fill me up. After stuffing my face, I could only finish 1 ½. It was drizzling and chilly so I paired the beignets with the New Orleans coffee. It was heavenly. We came around 4 with only 3 people in line before us. We passed the line at Du Monde and if you’re in town for a short amount of time, just save your time and try Café Beignet!

I liked café dumond beignets slightly better but this café is adorable, the coffee and beignets are excellent plus the breakfasts are really great – I had a crawfish omelet which was excellent, very fresh fish.

A quaint little shop found in the heart of the French Quarter. The café is a little small, with about 8 tables and room for maybe 20 – 25 people inside. The patio has many more tables, so if the weather allows, grab a table under a tree. The beignets here are quite delicious, and you could argue either way between these or the ones you find at Café du Monde. I find the dough here a little denser, and covered with a little less sugar, which is actually how I prefer it. And someone pointed out that the police station shares the patio, so you know they must be some great beignets! Well worth a visit to at least compare against Café du Monde.

I give this place 5 stars because it has amazing beignets and doesn’t have an hour long wait! I’ve come here every time we go to New Orleans and it never disappoints!

Was told by a local to stop here for some coffee. There isn’t a line compared to the competition(Du Monde). The Beignets are thick and doughy like a donut and dusted with powdered sugar. I’ve never had one of these bug I can see why folks dig them. We also got a blueberry scone. It wasn’t as yummy, I prefer mine sweeter and crunchy. Overall a cup of coffee and a pastry runs you $ 10. They offer seating inside and outside in a garden. It’s s great place to sit and relax during good weather.

Since I thoroughly enjoyed my last time here and I was on my own for the morning; I decided to stop in for coffee and some breakfast. The line always moves pretty quickly but, it was packed inside due to the rainy weather closing the patio. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese croissant and the chicory coffee. Two couples and a single lady sitting at a large table invited me to have the last seat and I was most grateful. It was nice to dine with two vacationing couples and a local; meeting people and chatting on vacation is what I live for. The food and coffee were as delicious as they were last time. The price/quality ratio is always on point here. This is a friendly place where locals mix in with the tourists but, everyone is so friendly you probably won’t be able to tell the difference between the two.

Atmosphere 3.5÷5 Service 3⁄5 Food 4⁄5 Sticky tables, okay service, decent beignets. Was a way quieter and better alternative to Café Du Monde(went there the day before). We were fortunate to have visited New Orleans early January so there plenty of seats open. Although they listed frozen café au lait’s a few months ago, they no longer serve this as an option. Still really good iced café au lait though! I love that the café opens up into the street and has a patio so it’s nice and bright in there. Good for people watching too. Beignets are fresh. Tip I learned from other guests: even if you’re dining in, ask for it in a to-go bag so you can shake up the beignets for a more even powdered sugar coating. It’s a much better way to eat these treats!

The beignets at Café Du Monde are fatter, fluffier, and have a smaller mountain of sugar vs. Café Du Monde’s to spare your poor pancreas. The restaurant also feels more warm, enclosed, and personal. The employees seem to like what they’re doing by interacting with the line and coaxing you to try all of their delicious desserts. The notable difference is that they have a full menu so if you want something more than just beignets, this would be the location. The line is to the door but never insane and the wait time to order is never more than 15 minutes. For the best tasting beignets in town, I would recommend Café Beignet over Café Du Monde with a very small r.

I was hungrryy for dinner and Café Beignet was well-rated on Unilocal without a ridiculous line. The chalkboard sign with crawfish omelets and made-to-order beignets beckoned to me, but little did I know that this was just a tourist trap. The omelet was not so much creamy and omelet-y than a carton egg poured onto a skillet and folded over some crawfish and bell peppers. The crawfish tasted a little funky. The grits that were served alongside the omelet were bland and gluey. However, the saving grace of the day were the beignets. They were fluffy and fresh, and I enjoyed the crisper edges relative to Café du Monde’s soft plushiness.

God awful at best. Clearly this is a tourist trap. Rude staff, dirty place, disappointing food. Roast beef po boy was awful. Roast beef had no taste only a weird rubbery texture… GROSS! Only flavor from the sandwich was the overly salty gravy that tasted like poison. Do not bother with this place, it’s so not worth it especially when there are infinitely better places in the quarter.

It’s a toss up between here and Café Du Monde for which beignets are better. I will say they are slightly larger and more chewy here, the coffee here is better, and the lines are a lot smaller. They also have some other great breakfast items like cups of fresh strawberries, omelets(my wife LOVED the omelette with the sausage in it), and croissants. This is a great breakfast stop. Pro tip: it is usually not busy before 10am on weekdays. We waited less than 10 min to be seated.

The line wasn’t too long Saturday around 7pm. Ordered beignets and an iced café au lait. Prices were $ 3.99 for three and took 5 minutes to be served. They are more thick and doughy than other restaurants. It was hot and fresh, but a bit too filling for my palate. I prefer it more light and airy. It reminded me of a fried roll rather than a light fluffy desert. Outside is suitably crispy. Again, it really depends on your preference. I recommend just having one because they are extremely filling. I wish they added a little more powered sugar. The coffee was good, but towards the end rather watered down. café au lait is good, but since it’s mostly milk, try to drink it quickly because the ice melts the flavor. I can see seating being an issue since the restaurant is pretty small. There’s outdoor seating if the weather is nice. They accept cash and credit.

Oh beignets, just could not get enough of you that I had to try out the other competition. The beignets are slightly better than Café du Monde’s, they were fluffier and had a consistency between donut + funnel cake. If you do not have time to stop by the tourist hot spot, Café Beignet is a great substitute if not better when it comes to beignets. My only disappointment is in their coffee department. Took the tip to get a free café au lait by showing the coupon from their website, however it did not taste nowhere near as good as Café du Monde’s. The café au lait was watered down and lacked the addictive coffee flavor. If time isn’t an issue, try both places to decide your beignet winner!

We had breakfast here after running in the Jazz Half Marathon in October. It was a nice little café. Had great beignets and also a great cup of coffee. Small inside with not a lot of room but they also have a nice courtyard outside. It was packed with a line outside the door on a Saturday morning. 4 star rating because cups were smaller an no refills.

While the wait here was painful it was not the death sentence of a wait at Café Du Monde. Racing against time we decided we were not going to leave without trying a beignet in NOLA. The seating is self serve. You are given a number at the counter once you have placed your order. If you are with a group have someone find you a table while you order. We opted to take out and we were given the beignets in a Café Beignet branded white paper bag. The price is pretty cheap and I wish I would have purchased a few more orders. I reheated them the next day in the oven at home(after refrigerating overnight) and they were still pretty good. Of course, not as good as when they were fresh but pretty close! I was very surprised by the variety of food the café offered. Seems like a solid choice for a quick casual breakfast.

Name ist Programm. Hier kann man die berühmten Beignets mit Unmengen an Staubzucker verkosten. Sitzplätze drinnen und im Freien laden zu einem kurzen Stopp während der Besichtigung des French Quarter ein.

The café au lait was watery the beignets heavy… the runner rude as hell. I’ll be at café du monde in the morning,
