This church is right in the middle of the Bywater and has some beautiful turn of the last century stained glass windows. I probably would have never ventured inside except I attended a wedding here but I have parked in front of this church many times. The inside is far more ornate than i would’ve thought so it is certainly worth a gander.

I started going to this church with a friend after MFV and I parted ways. I actually like this church much better than the one I was attending in Slidell. It’s an older church with a lot of character and occasionally a non-functioning air conditioner. The church has both English and Spanish services and a gated parking lot which gets full, but Saturday service is early enough that you can find street parking. The biggest draw for me is Father Jose. I don’t like to get political on Unilocal and in the same vain, I don’t want my priest burning a homily on political BS that he got from a chain email, and that’s what was happening in Slidell. Every homily I’ve been to so far has been on point with the readings which this cafeteria cat-lick appreciates. Other than that, the church is brightly lit, with an access ramp on the side for the elderly parishioners. I’m not sure how long I’m going to be going in general, but for now, this is going to be my parish, It’s worth the weekly drive from St. Rose.
