Best crab place ever. This is the first time I have actually paid $ 80.00 for a dozen of crabs. I sat in and ate them. They were served so hot you had to give them a few minutes to cool off. Service was great. I can’t wait to return.

Stopped here for dinner with the hubby one evening just to try a new place. Greeted by the smell of steamed crabs in the parking lot… yummy. There was ample parking and upon entering, we found a nice atmosphere, plenty of seating, & friendly and accommodating wait staff. Our selections included cream of crab soup and calamari for appetizers followed by Chicken Chesapeake & double Crabcakes. The food was tasty, well prepared, and presented nicely. Will visit again

Really enjoyed my meal and crabs here! Descent prices, great food! Crabs were heavy and not overally seasoned. Ahi Tuna Club was delish, hand cut fries are good. Cocktails did not have enough alcohol though. Great service, waitress friendly and food served expeditiously. Great place to go before a movie or on a time restraint. Will definitely be back!

Hit Keno Friday & had Crabs over the Weekend with my Wife & They were full & «GREAT». I love the Spice & My Wife Likes without(that the waitress steams off the spice). We had them with Delicious Onion Rings & a Basket of Rolls. We also love their Fried shrimp appetizer as well. Our Waitress(we ask for) «Nicole» is a Doll and Very Attentive. Super Crabs, Service & Food…

Went to Skipjack’s for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I had the grilled chicken sandwich topped with crab dip. It was so amazingly delicious. Coming back for that again! =)

I like this place. It’s a no frills, no pretense crab shack with a bar. This is your parents restaurant, so if you’re looking for the latest foodie, hipster find, this isn’t it. That doesn’t mean you won’t like it. The fried shrimp are succulent and the crab cakes are moist, nicely-seasoned. The salad dressings are good. An ahi tuna salad was tasty. They offer a number of sides including corn on the cob in season. Skip dessert and go get ice cream some place.

Great shrimp salad — nice selection on menu. The most notable thing about this place is it smells horribly. The smell of bleach isn’t do bad but the smell of bleach and a sushi dumpster on a hot day is bad.

Just A-OK. Ordered the crab nachos appetizer, they were good just too salty. The chips they used were light and flaky which was nice, I was expecting regular tortilla chips but these were much better. They were smothered in cheese, perfect high-calorie snack to share!(not being sarcastic) Also ordered the crab cake platter with onion rings. The onion rings were nothing special, the dipping sauce was OK. I absolutely LOVE crab and I’m not from Baltimore, I’ve lived here for 5 months and had a crab cake in DC and now here, I thought the one I had in DC was better to be honest… so I wasn’t too impressed. I got recommendations for other places in Baltimore that has hundreds of reviews with good ratings so I plan on trying another place. This place wasn’t bad at all but not the best. Service was decent. It seemed like we were ordering the wrong thing because everyone was ordering whole crabs seasoned in Bay Seasoning, so if I were to ever return that’s what I would get.

Visited for a work happy hour, sitting in the bar area. I was happy to learn that Skipjack’s now has some craft beer offerings, though the person who maintains their craft beer list on the chalkboard clearly doesn’t know what qualifies as craft. Blue Moon?! Ummm… NO! They did, however, have a few decent craft choices. On the same subject, the bartender did a pretty poor job with her pours, which is perhaps attributable to her being the only barkeep at a moderately busy bar where most people were eating at the bar. My gal and I ordered two appetizers — Old Bay wings and the crab dip — and a side of hush puppies. Food verdict… Wings: Not real meaty, with some downright anorexic. One that a fellow happy hourer had looked like it was merely bone with skin and seasoning. And though I am a huge fan of both Old Bay and salt, I must admit the wings were too salty for us to finish. Never had that happen before in my extensive wing eating experience! Crab Dip: Served in a bread bowl that was, for me, the highlight of our foodstuffs. It also came with pita wedges. The dip was mega creamy and also salty, so that neither of us were able to taste crab. It also came out just barely warm, so we were compelled to do something I very seldom do– send it back to the kitchen to be warmed up. Hush Puppies: I think these were pretty good, maintaining enough moisture so as to not suffer the same fate as many a bone-dry pup. I’d have liked a bit more flavor, though, and prefer my hush puppies with a bit of an oniony edge. Prices were okay overall, and service(other than the poor pours) was fine. If only the food made the grade!

The food here was ok. I had the crab dip. It taste like it had too much mayo in it but other than that it was ok. I also had the shrimp basket… that was ok too. The fried shrimp were a nice size. Their cosmos are strong but nasty at first taste. Once I got to my second Cosmo they were good. My experience here was just average. Nothing stood out about this place. They didn’t have any crabs left when me and my friends arrived. One of my friends got a dirty cup twice! Lol and the manager told her she couldn’t get her crab cakes with the imperial sauce because my friend wouldn’t like it. Smh. However, we had a great time here. The atmosphere was casual and quiet.

Love their steamed crabs and their crab fluff is amazing! Also, give the hush puppies a try… you won’t be disappointed. The bar is very nice as well. Strong drinks at a great price.

Best steamed crabs in Baltimore, bar none. Crabs are steamed-to-order and always full of meat. They’ll serve you as few as 6 crabs, and you can eat at the bar while watching whatever sporting event happens to be going on.

Best crabs in town! The prices are a little high but it is well worth it! Their crabs are meaty and flavored perfectly! I gave this place 4 stars because the rest of the food is typical bar food, good and appetizing, but not phenomenal. Go for the crabs!

Skipjack’s is a pretty solid choice for a quick dinner. The DBF likes the Tuesday night crabcake special, which is usually when we go. I think the crabcakes are a good deal for the price on Tuesdays($ 9.95 for one with two sides; you can also get two cakes for more $$$), the meat to filler ratio is decent but for some reason I find them to be a little sweet? Maybe it is just me. I much prefer the grilled chicken sandwiches to the crabcakes; they are delicious, pounded out so it is easy to take a bite and they have a great chargrilled flavor. The cream of crab soup is a bit salty for our taste, but the overall flavor is pretty good; I prefer the MD crab out of the two. We always start with the shrimp basket app; the shrimp are a nice size and taste pretty good, not über-fresh(possibly pre-battered and frozen for ease of preparation) but the fries are the boardwalk kind and are dusted with Old Bay. I have heard the crabs are great here but have never tried them myself. The nachos look yummy too. I think the bar would be a great place to catch an O’s or Ravens’ game; we plan to check that out at some point too. This place won’t blow your mind, but it is nice to have in the area and is very consistent. We are happy to stop by every couple of weeks and grab a quick dinner before doing some after work errands.

Think Top Gun: Cutesy Goose and Mav’s singing the Righteous Brothers to a girl at the local watering hole. If you can picture that… that’s exactly what you’ll get at Skipkjack’s. Known for being a local’s kinda bar for those who wanna kick back, drink a few brews, watch the games and catch a glimpse of those old timers singing karaōke. Typical bar food, with great prices. The nachos are pretty dang good, although a bit soggy when they sit for a while. so hope that you can eat fast that night. The potato wedges/fries are just-right crispy and the pretzel bites remind you of being at the ballpark. They also have great specials on crabs, if that’s that you’re looking for and can’t seem to find them anywhere. So stop in for a drink or two and meet some new people. you never know what you might stumble into at Skipjacks!
