Came in because my kids wanted ice cream. I ordered a mango raspado for me. While the ice cream was okay, it took like 15 minutes to get our raspado prepared. The young lady was taking everybody’s orders while the woman in the back prepared the order that was placed after ours. When they finally got time to make our raspados, all I got was a big dissapointment. It was crushed ice and granulated sugar. The sugar is all i tasted. It didn’t even taste like mango. I seriously won’t be back.

I was craving some fresas con crema so I decide to go get some from this place to try it out big mistake. They taste sour & the cream taste like yogurt not sweet at all. Wouldn’t come here again. Wouldn’t recommend this place to my family nor friends. The customer service was great but the quality of the food is a big downgrade.

Amazing homemade ice cream! Pistachio is my all-time favorite. Today I tried their lunch special combo for six dollars with the tax like 6.50 it was awesome! This place is clean, the food is delicious, the service is great! Their BIonico melts in your mouth

Decided to try this place for the first time tonight was disappointed to be told I could only purchase from two items on their menu because they close at 9… I check my phone and it was only 8:40 will definitely not be stopping by again.

They say they open at 7 but it’s 7:30 and not a soul in sight. Need to adjust their Unilocal hours or show up to work on time.

1st timer. Got a diablito and a strawberry with vanilla raspado. Both were good. Ice is shaved pretty well… not too thick. I also got a corn in a cup and a red juice or what I know them for as an esquite and vampiro juice, respectively. Probably won’t get the corn again. They added sour cream after I told them not to. And the cheese they use didn’t go well. It kinda curdled :/I had to add extra lemon and some Tajin to give flavor. The red juice was ok. Overall, might try again for other raspado flavors but that’s it. Very nice service though! Very helpful and pleasant!

Had the Torta de Lomo combo, it came with an agua fresca(had the agua de coco) and your choice of fruit or chips(had their fresh fruit). Also tried their esquite. Everything was so good! Best Torta de Lomo I’ve ever had! Girls were very friendly! Oh and that agua de coco was so good! Got some paletas to go hopefully they are as good as they look. Def. coming back!

Tried their Chamoy Mango Raspado, it was refreshing w/a lot of flavors. It was too much flavor for me but it was very delicious. The place is very clean and nice, the inside especially, it had a light, delicate yellow kind of colors that made it seem much more attractive.

Really really good! Their bionicos are very tasty and all their fruit is very very fresh. The raspados are huge and very flavorful as well. Looking at some of the other reviews, I think some people are entirely too picky because this place had a great selection of both fruit items, and other food items. We’ll be back!

My parents live right down the street and so I went in to check out the new juice bar and it was great! I don’t buy junk food most of the time so what I go in for is the natural juices they make. They are great!!! Sarah, the owner is super nice and always so welcoming! Their red juice with protein is my fav. I order that literally three times a week. Haven’t tried anything else yet, but I sure will. Also very clean and friendly staff! So I rate this new spot 5 stars!!!

I’m sorry to put a bad review but I’m a big fan of Fresas con Crema and the order I got was not comparable to what I’m use to getting and the price for the qty. was not so good, $ 7.50 is to much for the quality and quantity. I also didn’t see that many selections of juices which is also a big bummer. i ordered a mixed Carrot and orange drink that was good and refreshing and for the price of $ 4.50 was not to bad. Now would I return, probably till they have more selection in Juices and they do their Fresas con Crema better. The reason I said sorry at the beginning, the staff was very nice and quick on my order. That I do give to them. I give the staff a 5 star…

El Paraiso! Brand new business that opened up in the neighborhood! Located on the corner of Pioneer and Excelsior, they’ve taken over what used to be Pioneer Food Store. Clean and simple on the inside, and much more brighter than what was there before! They opened up on Saturday, May 30, 2015. They had a DJ and clown to welcome the new customers. By the time we made it out, the entertainment was gone and they were out of corn cups. It’s all good, though. What we did try warranted us to return the next day with a bigger appetite. What we tried: The corn cup comes to you warm with cheese, mayo, sour cream, chile, and lime. One size only and it’ll cost you $ 3.00. The tostilocos(round tortilla chips, cucumber, jicama, lime, chile, cueritos or pork skins, Japanese-style peanuts, and lots of chamoy) hold up to a 10 minute walk home, with the chips staying nice and crisp. That’ll cost you $ 5.50. The Huracan is nice and refreshing with watermelon, cucumber, pineapple, and fresh squeezed orange juice. It’s topped with chile and fresh coconut. Three sizes, with the small being $ 4.50. Fresas con Crema is my oldest son’s new favorite. Sweet cream and lots of sliced strawberries topped with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Peaches are also available, three sizes with the small being $ 4.50. Gaspacho, or julienned beets, cucumber, carrots, and jicama with fresh squeezed orange juice and topped with chile if you’d like will cost you $ 3.75 for a small. Raspados Naturales or snow cones, come in one size(although the paper menu says there’s 3 sizes and 3 prices). We tried the vanilla, pineapple, and chamoy mango. It’s a good sized cup and the ice holds up even if you walk home with your treat. $ 3.95 for this. The smoothies come in three sizes, and we decided on a small mango. We saw them make it and there’s a good amount of mango in the smoothie! You can choose up to three different flavors for your smoothie and a small will be about $ 3.50. The paper menu prices are a touch different than the flat screen menus or what you’ll see on your receipt. I hope they’ll change that, or at lease sync their menus to show the same and true price. The ladies running the show are super nice and they try really hard to accommodate all of their customers. We were able to sit thru a not-busy time vs. a busy time and everyone got their treats in a timely fashion. They seem really organized, with one lady each taking care of one kind of treat or section. They were constantly refilling items as they ran low, they double checked orders with customers, and even when things got busy they kept happy and professional. You can pay with cash or plastic, and there isn’t an extra charge if you decide to swipe. Nice! As some customers were waiting for the rest of their orders, they ordered paletas or ice pops. Lots of flavors to choose from like strawberries and cream, pineapple, and pistachio. Ice cream flavors include a rainbow sherbet, bubble gum, and strawberries and cream. I’m looking forward to trying their pistachio for our next visit. Aguas frescas, sandwiches, bionicos, shrimp cocktail, and nachos are also on the menu. All items are reasonably priced and all are made fresh to order. I’m glad a business like this has opened up in this area. They’ve come around just in time for summer! If this fruit and veggie stuff isn’t your thing, no worries. This place is located in the same lot as a pretty bomb Mexican food restaurant, a quick and cheapy pizza place, and a mom and pop coffee shop. El Paraiso, you’ll have yourself a family of six as some new regulars! Yay!
