Great place to go for a burger and fries. Toll house pie for dessert yum! Service has always been good never too busy

Was there about a month ago. We walked in and there was 1 server for both the bar and dining area and i would think because it was not that busy, and i did not get very busy the entire time we were there. From the time we sat down it took her 20 minutes to even bring us our menus. She also disappeared a lot during the time we were there. She was gone so long at point where the bar tender had to leave the bar to go look for her. We finally order and my friend orders the french dip and asked for no onion. She brought over a french dip with onion and then realized she brought the wrong one and it was a french dip for another customer. She served that french dip to the correct customer after my friend had already took the sandwich apart with his hands. When he finally got the correct sandwich it didn’t have the«dip» part of the french dip. I do not even remember what my entre was but i got a wedge salad and it was nothing special. First and last time i will eat at the dry dock café.

We have been going here for 13+ years and have always had a great meal and service. We went tonight 7÷11÷15 and the food was horrible and the place was dirty also the bathrooms were dirty. They served my BLT on burned toast. The Brussel sprouts had no taste. My father in laws cheese burger had no cheese my brother in laws barbecue burger had no barbecue sauce. Our waitress had no personality. We will never return. I can only imagine many others will not return if the have an experience similar to ours.

I’ve been back to Dry Dock twice in the past couple of weeks because I heard there was a new cook. The décor has been spruced up and the wait staff is very attentive. I had sirloin tips for Sunday brunch which was in a bearnaise sauce, very good. I had a burger the second time, very good quality meat. For informal, family friendly dining, with reasonable prices, I recommend the Dry Dock Café. The Sunday brunch has unlimited mimosas or bloody Marys. :-)

Food subpar. Space is open but it just wasn’t a good experience. Not really great for kids either.

How could anyone not rate this place 5 stars. Seriously amazing. We got in and sat right down, had the most amazing pie and mac n cheese of my life. Wait staff was great and the place was super clean. Keep it up Dry Dock.

This was always the goto place for a good burger, a beer maybe a salad in a casual environment. Bar crowd on one side, tables on the other. I think I’ve been there on and off for 20+ years. It was always predictable, good and fun. Its gone, they destroyed it. Closed for a remodel, and menu change and when it re-opened, its awful. Décor is hideous, menu was changed for no reason, but the killer is that the chef(s?) have lost it. We had our normal group, which goes once a month, and not ONESINGLE order came out correctly. And these were just burgers. By the time we sent the waitress back to the kitchen for the third time, she was in tears. Not from us, but from constantly apologizing for the terrible service. The place was empty, and it was always tough to get a seat before they ruined it. So we can’t be the only ones who think it has lost its way. Too bad. Head up the road to Tavern on 7. Its pricier, but far more interesting food. Please, bring back the old Dry Dock.

After going to the Dry Dock for years, we’ve now had our last visit. The service was remarkably poor, they were out of many menu items(at 6:30 on a Friday night) and the waiter didn’t know the menu. My 4 year old son ordered Mac and Cheese, was served in a red hot skillet with the handle angled toward him. Turns out they gave him the adult version with one of the added options — bacon. My sandwich didn’t include one of the ingredients listed on the menu and my wife spent the night and next morning vomiting, most likely from the hamburger she ordered. Afterwards, we took our son to McDonald’s for a good dinner, how sad that McDonald’s was a better option than a local restaurant. The staff is utterly incompetent, never again.

We have been to the Dry Dock a few times, found their food and service to be solid. Went their last Friday night with a friend and husband, I ordered a side salad and mac n’ cheese. When we got the bill I was charged for a regular sized salad and charged another $ 1.50 for having blue cheese dressing on it. I understand that some place charge extra for crumbled blue cheese on a salad but come on… dressing? When I brought it to our server’s attention he told me that just how it was. To top it off, he charged me for a full sized salad, when, I kid you not… it was some lettuce, a tomato wedge, two pieces of carrot and two pieces of bell pepper in a small clear plastic bowl. That’s what constitutes as a full garden salad $ 8.99 at the Dry Dock(that I didn’t order) and let’s not forget the $ 1.50 for just dressing. Did I mention, they brought me the wrong mac and cheese? I ordered just plain mac and cheese, they brought me one with bacon on it. Well, after it had been sitting at the table for about 5 mins, the server came to our table and said, «opps, wrong order» dropped off my correct order, and after some examination from another server, they gave the dish to another patron. I hadn’t touched the Mac and cheese with bacon yet but, I wouldn’t want to be that person who got food that was sitting at someone else’s table for an extended amount of time. Did not make a stink since I was with a friend visiting from out of town but I now regret waiting this long to say something. Will not be revisiting the Dry Dock again.

The only reason I’m giving this place 3 stars is because I have been here for brunch before and it’s actually real good. I went there after they remodel to check it out and watch Sunday night football. There were like two people there, when we sat at the bar it took the bartender a good 4 minutes to acknowledge us even tho she saw us coming in. The bartender wasn’t the friendliest and didn’t make us feel welcomed. May be it was time to go home for her? I don’t know. They have four tv’ and all of them were playing the World Series. I asked if she could switch one of the Tv’s to the football game, she said something like«I only have control of these two TV’s right now» and walked away. Needles to say I paid for my drink and went to another place to watch the game. A big renovation is useless when your employees don’t know how to take care of customers.

Very disappointing. It was a terrible experience from beginning to end. The noise was deafening, the food was poor and the service was non-existent. Our waiter was«training» did not know menu. The brisket in my husbands brisket sandwich had been around awhile and was tasteless. I ordered a dry dock salad with salmon and no onions. I asked the waiter if any of the dressings were homemade and he didn’t know nor did he ask anyone. He brought the wrong salad, it contained rusty lettuce, 2 raw carrot slices and a couple of cherry tomatoes. The only redeeming feature was the fresh cooked salmon. When the waitress finally came over and I told her and showed her the lettuce she didn’t even respond. My MIL had the portobello burger and it was edible. The whole experience was pathetic!

I have been to the dry dock several times(few friends keep going there) but each time, it’s the same thing. The food is not that great, but it’s the service that gets the worst rating. The kitchen can’t seem to get food out in a normal time span(45 minutes for apps and the restaurant wasn’t even busy). Frankly I think there are alot better picks for your money out there.

I’ve been here twice. I heard the food was great. The service was horrible. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. I decided to give it a second Chance and that was a mistake.

I’ve been going to Dry Dock with my family for many years now. In regards to the atmosphere, Dry Dock has a somewhat«divey» feel, but I would say it’s on the nicer side. There are a good amount of tables available in the dining area with more seats available at the bar. The bar is a good size, and is accompanied by five(give or take) televisions. In my experience, the food at Dry Dock has always been good. Their menu is a good size, offering predominately sandwiches and other bar food food staples. They are also generous with their portions. The service at Dry Dock tends to be a hit-or-miss. The servers are always friendly, but some are more attentive than others. There have been times where I have felt the server forgot about the table. Overall, for the price, I think Dry Dock is hard to beat. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere and food, and will continue to dine here in the future.

Came in for Sunday brunch: Our young waiter was great, the food was ok(out of the 4 diff meals at our table I would only recommend the blueberry pancakes), but the reason for 2 stars is the owner. He walked in the door, reach over my head and, without saying anything, started messing around with the thermostat for 5 mins. He was breathing loud and heavy over me and made the area FREEZING! Weirdo

Came in on a Sunday afternoon. Service was extremely slow. Ordered the«freshly made corned beef hash and poached eggs.» The CB hash was clearly the canned variety and the poached eggs were completely hardened. We also ordered toast that did not arrive until after we finished our eggs.

Very good food here. Was busy so service was not the fastest. Am told famous for their thin crust which 2 of our party had. Looked great. I was busy with my french dip which was raved about in another review. Was awesome. Toasted roll was tremendous. The last person in our party had a cheddar burger which he said was really good. Thanks to Jeff for suggesting this spot. Also Gideon and Adam for good company!

Good reliable meal. Great steak sandwiches. Big fan of the french dip. My only issue is the limited parking

We had a terrible waiter, who tried to do everything from memory but forgot basics like our salad. Once we reminded him, he seemed to treat it as low priority even though we had been waiting a good half hour. The food came just after we got our salad and so that was another issue. The most frustrating part was I understand people make mistakes, but the waiter opted to take no responsibility for his mistake, charged us for the salad we hardly had time to eat and then we had a mediocre meal at best. It’s too bad, we live in the neighborhood and have come here for years. It’s now off our list.

To Missy T: I have been spending hundreds of dollars at your father’s bar every week since I moved to Norwalk 5 years ago… and I have all of the credit card receipts to prove it. I am disgusted and appalled at your comment that the employees’ friends were receiving free food and beverages. This is NOTTRUE and has never been true. The reason I frequented the bar was because of the incredible staff and their treatment of patrons(old, loyal customers and new customers), not because of any special treatment. Unfortunately, now my friends and I(many of whom have been patrons for over a decade) will have to find a new neighborhood bar. We are all very saddened… it is incredibly unfortunate that due to the owner’s actions our other friends who currently still work at Dry Dock will be affected. I am sorry to them, but you have lost me as a customer and the money that I was spending at your father’s restaurant will now be spent somewhere else.
