Burger Bar & Bistro

This is a great place for a meal in Norwalk. The burger menu is not just unique but tastes great. The options are endless and they have something for everyone. I went with the veggie burger which is house made and is better than most I’ve had. There are an abundance of options including veggie, beef, turkey, bison, elk and wagyu. I went out on a limb and tried the ghost pepper sauce. I I drank everyone’s water at the table. If you’re daring, go for it. The service is great and if you’re lucky, you’ll get Jesus. Really nice guy and great with kids. Speaking of kids, the kids menu is also great and our kids loved the food. We’re definitely coming back for a great meal next time we’re in town.

Food was mediocre, especially in light of the prices. While the menu boasted that the Cowboy burger was the most popular, it was underwhelming; the menu lists that it includes «thick-​cut Applewood bacon», which was more accurately described as tasteless limp Oscar Meyer bacon strips. Bottom burger bun was soggy and our side of fries came after our meal was more than half over. While our server was kind, and apologetic at the end, they had forgotten about us despite the fact that it wasn’t crowded. We won’t be repeat customers.

The menu looked good so I decided to give this place a try. I’m sorry I did.
The bartender was alone or had very little help and didn’t know how to make a proper old fashioned. Half the glass was muddles cherry and orange.
I ordered a burger at the same time as a couple and one older gentleman ordered. They were served and done meanwhile I still did not receive mine. I ended up asking for my food to go since I waited so long at that point.
When I received my bill, my order was combined with the older gentleman sitting next to me. I paid for us both considering we had to wait so long for our stuff and I didn’t want to deal with anymore of the service.
Truly hope this place will get its act together.

We love this place! It’s the perfect neighborhood restaurant, especially when you have little ones. We come here often and have ordered almost everything on the menu. The burgers are great, and it’s nice to have a place with decent wine, good food and a solid kids menu. I’ve also had their salads, shrimp tacos and mac and cheese and everything has been good. They also have adorable toys for the kids to use, and the staff is incredibly accommodating.

Jam burger, onion rings and wedge salad were all delicious and atmosphere as fun! We’ll definitely be back!

This was a while ago but I really do think I got violently ill from them. Sorry to the other customer on here that got sick as well. I only had a beer, fried pickles, and the deviled eggs with the bacon. Two years later I still can’t eat pickles or bacon :(it took me so long to write this because I was too lazy to remember/​find the place.

From start to finish the service was terrible. For example, when leaving the waiter switched up ours and another tables’ bills and credit cards. The food is only okay but is horrendously overpriced, for my fiancé and myself the total came out to over $ 50. To complete the package, I’m worried this place gave me food poisoning. The only other thing I ate yesterday was a frozen pizza that my fiancé also ate and is not sick. Of course, I can’t say for sure. But the service and the price alone are enough reason to never return.

I’ve visited Burger Bar several times before but had such a tremendous experience that I had to write a review. We came in for Tuesday trivia night and our server, Jean, immediately made sure that we could still catch the happy hour drink specials. Throughout the night he made sure that we were all set with food and drinks and having a good time.
Food highlights were the Mac and cheese balls, chipotle dip, and of course the burgers, with my 6’5″ friend devouring a triple patty burger with an expression of intense happiness the entire time.
It’s a great place to have a casual lunch or dinner with friends and family, and we aim to be back extremely soon

Good food, not great, but lots of choices of burgers (I would hope so, being a burger bar). I also got a milkshake, which again was good but nothing special, but the fact that they have milkshakes all day may have pushed this review from a 3.5 to a 4. The bar area was pretty quiet for Friday lunch, but the low-​table area may have been louder. They handled our group of 6, but they wouldn’t let us split the check more than 4 ways, and it seemed like the servers were struggling to manage all of our dishes when the food came out (who gets what dish, what each dish was), so coming with a larger group may not have gone as well.

Walked in side door by theater — the room reeked of very strong urine. My daughter and I walked over to a table. Service was ok — food was very mediocre. Cowboy burger was coked properly but onion rings tasted of dirty oil and burger was on the cold side. Diet soda and ginger ale tasted like a very dirty tap. Chips on side of dish tasted like they were fried a week ago. While I understand the desire to be kid friendly, the stacks of high chairs, toys and games strewn around room — made me feel like I was in a dirty daycare center. Not impressed wouldn’t go back.

The decoration is very funny, prefect place for kids !
But the service was terrible. We had to wait a long time for somebody to take out order, I asked a burger without any onions, and I had onions in my burger. I wouldn’t mind if I wasn’t allergic to it.
Then we had to wait again to somebody come to check on us after we were done. Waiting again to have the check. The place wasn’t crowder. Just a terrible service
about the food, it’s was okay/​good. Nothing exceptional for a burger place.
We went there after looking at the reviews on Unilocal,maybe it was a bad day… Not jute what happened really with the staff.

Surprisingly good burgers for the area. The place is eclectic in decorations and has a good relaxed vibe. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The burgers were great I got a seasonal burger and the meat was great.

Great service. Great atmosphere. Great food. In the heart of Norwalk CT ! If you haven’t been here you are missing out especially in the summer with corn hole set up for some fun in the sun

This place has become a staple in my CT travels. I am not a burger fanatic, but I love their turkey burger. Never over seasoned, just tasty! I do find that taking this meal to go does not give the same effect so definitely stay in and enjoy some SoNo.

I’m a local and have been here many times with friends for beers food and to watch the games. Great spot for all ages. Tremendous food options, killer board games, great beers on tap, food is priced well and is cooked to perfection. If you like your burger medium rare i would recommend ordering it rare because it usually comes up a little over cooked.
Service is pretty good if you sit at the bar but the place can get pretty packed. In the back room there’s a seating area perfect for families with an ice cream bar for kids.
Would definitely recommend going there.

Excellent burgers! This place is perfectly located in sono. One of the first places that you will see when you turn down north main. There is an outdoors areas which is great in the summer time.

I love Burger Bar’s burgers. However, the service and other meals on the menu are not as good. Granted, they focus on burgers, but I still think that if you offer other meals they need to sarisfy certain standards. I ordered a Cobb Salad last time I was here and what I received was nothing close to a Cobb Salad. The drinks are good, the truffle fries are good. During the night time it seems as though they have too many employees and none are doing a thing. All in all, go during the day and order a burger!

I have to say this was a great way to end our trip in Norwalk, CT. We approached the restaurant with a welcome greeting and sat down right by a television to watch the METS baseball game (my mans favorite).
We decided to look over the whiskey menu and order a tasty drink. I got a blue moon which went perfect with my tasty Cowboy burger.
My man ordered the Ultimate burger with a whiskey straight (not sure the name). It was a little manly for me, but I needed to assist because he was driving us home.
The serves was outstanding and they even brought us over a complimentary donuts (made my day).
I did talk about ordered fries and mention that I didn’t want them I would stick with the chips that my burger comes with and end up getting regular fries anyways. I wasn’t a fan. I totally forgot about that tasty fries everyone raved about (can’t remember the name), should of got those. He went over the options, but I didn’t really feel like over eating. Anyways my man ate them.
We also got the artichoke & spinach dip.
WOAH… this was OUT of this world! It was served in a taco shell and the chunks of artichoke. I would’ve JUST had that for linner. OMG out of this world…
Overall this place is a great outdoor eating, family fun environment, and having drinks with a friend. Come on down and check it out.

Severely overpriced and nothing special. Comes with Mesquite chips instead of fries (boooooo!)
That being said, my Baja burger and pickle were delicious.

while sitting in traffic on our way to Newport I checked Unilocal for places to eat and found this place. Disco fries looked quite tasty so we got off the parkway and found our way here. anyway they were even better then they looked! I’m happy this place is just over the bridge from where we live encase I ever want those delicious fries again. my husband also loved his cowboy burger and we had fun playing with the tetris blocks.
