I was very disappointed. All I wanted for dinner was fish and chips. We wanted to branch out and have a change of scenery so we tried Norm’s. I learned my lesson. I will never eat here again. I will stick to my usual haunts. The corn chowder was ok, a little bland but edible. The clamcakes were good. The English fish and chips were some of the worst fish and chips I have ever had. The fish was cooked, but the batter was barely cooked not to mention completely tasteless and a little doughy. The fries and the onion rings were also barely cooked. The onion rings were also tasteless. This may sound stupid, but what kind of fish and chips doesn’t come with a lemon? The waitress was nice but didn’t come over to check on the food because if she had I would’ve sent it back right away, instead of letting it just sit on my plate. When she finally came over to ask if we were finished we told her what the issue was. She sent over someone who I assume was the manager but never identified herself, who then asked me if we wanted takeout boxes. I said no and explained the reason. She then proceeded to snap at me saying they’ve been in business for 39 years and have used the same batter. She then begrudgingly offered to take the fish and chips off the bill.(We didn’t asked her to). I will not be going back there, not because the food was bad because sometimes restaurants have bad nights, but because of the woman’s attitude. The other thing that I thought was odd, the waitress kept saying we were lucky that we came in when we did. We were lucky the steak tips didn’t run out, or this other dish didn’t run out. we were lucky that it wasn’t too busy, so we got our food in a timely manner. If you know this, hire more help and keep more food in stock for Friday night. As far as I’m concerned the only thing that was lucky was I made it on time to my favorite fish and chips place before they closed.

Huge disappointment. Hoping for something new in the area my husband and I decided to try norms at the Tavern 33, what a mistake. First it took 5 minutes just to be greeted and then another 5 for 2 sodas. We ordered a fish platter and a scallop dish. While waiting for our food we noticed dead flies on the window sills and standing green water in old kitchen equipment outside of our window. It was absolutely disgusting. I contemplated on leaving but my husband convinced me to stay hoping that our dinners would not reflect what we were seeing. That did not happen. Our dinners were unediable. I can’t even explain the taste the fish had and the scallops were even worse. Needless to say we ate at McDonald’s that night. It’s a much safer bet then norms seafood.
