Tasty but not filling. Had a burrito and 90 min later was ravenous. Probably not enough protein. Been a vegan for decades so I’m not complaining about lack of meat — I’m complaining about ratios.

I’ve been trying to get over to Red Pepper for a few weeks, but work always made it difficult to get there before closing. So today, I made a special effort to get away early and was well rewarded. I arrived at the counter, stated it was my first visit and the lady behind the counter asked a few questions and we quickly arrived at the Pad Tai — well chosen as it was flavorful and filling and of course healthy. The décor was really nice, not over the top, casual and colorful. I practically had the place to myself so I sat at the front window and people watched while I enjoyed a great dish. This place is definitely on my «A» list and I intend to come back and try everything on the menu.

Got the vegan tacos and nachos. I would have to say I preferred the tacos since they had more of my favorite — guacamole. They were basically a taco with a kind of lettuce as the shell. The nachos were good too, refreshing but also had a spicy kick. I noticed the place itself had a distinct odor, I don’t think it was bad, it may have just been a cleaner outdoor smell as the result of their numerous vegetable dishes.

The Red Pepper Deli rocks! All of their drinks are spot on(potassium is my drink of choice). Carolyn, the owner is very connected to the customer experience and it shows in the food & drink. The Pad Thai they offer is a wonderful spin on the Thai dish and delicious. If you like organic food in a hip setting, this is the spot.

Yes, the food is pricey but organic, raw food usually is. It’s not the government-subsidized, processed crap you find in the mainstream grocery stores. Everything I had was very creative and flavourful. I felt full when I left but if you’re used to «Old Country Buffet» or other restaurants where mega-portions are the norm, this may not be for you.

This place made me so excited to try it, as a vegetarian your options are limited sometimes. We are adventurous eaters who will spend money to have good food. We were EXTREMELY disappointed. we ordered a zucchini«pad thai» and a «sandwich», guac and chips and one smoothie. Let’s start with the fact that we didn’t even receive water until we got our meals at least 30 – 40 min after we ordered. Secondly, the food was boring, flavorless, watery and my sandwich was dust between two carpet swatches. The guac was merely a tomato and avocado mixed together, with zero spices/flavorings. I think this restaurant is a cartoon of what old people think vegetarians/vegans eat. It’s all hype and they expect you to pay 30 $ for a nearly inedible lunch and be thrilled at how good you are treating your spirit animal or whatever. It lacked taste, It lacked service, and it lacked anything close to a reasonable price. I would NEVER eat here again.

I feel like I should like this place more. I’m usually one to really get into the hype of a restaurant, but not this time. Cool factor: 5 Price factor: 2 Taste factor: 2.5 Health factor: 5 This place has no oven, no microwave, no anything that helps heat up food. They make their bread and corn chips by dehydration. The menu seemed very creative, but they were out of the 2 things I wanted try. I ended up ordering raw tacos(recommended by one of the staff –super nice) and this balsamic mushroom zucchini pasta. The tacos were pretty good, considering the«meat» was made of walnuts and spices. I read that their guac was out of this world, but I’ve had better from home. As for the pasta… omg… I think that is what ruined my experience. It was so bland, so I asked for more balsamic, but nothing could save it. The flavor was just off. I didn’t want to eat it, but I did not want to toss out a meal. I ended up taking the leftovers home, but left them uneaten. I know my thinking may not be right, but I really do not like paying a lot for entrees unless they have some type of meat in it(seafood incl.) Which is why I think the menu was a but pricey since there was no meat. Overall, this place is hip, but not my kinda hangout. I would come back if I had a friend that was interested in raw foods. I want to like this place more and hope their business thrives. Best wishes!

I was so excited when I saw that this place was opening in Northville. I’m a huge fan of vegan, raw, and organic foods, and we really have no other restaurants that serve such options in the area. However, I’ve been pretty disappointed every time I’ve eaten here. The fruit I got was far from fresh and the entrees are just… not that good. The first few times I went, I got the zucchini hummus which was AMAZING, but it has since been removed from the menu. Since I’ve tried a few other things and have been quite underwhelmed with the flavors and freshness. Not to mention, the service is INCREDIBLY slow(i.e. they’re making me a smoothie, and before pressing the«blend» button on the blender, take a phone call and two orders). The smoothies taste awesome, but that’s about all I’d go for, if I have ten minutes to wait for it.

The smoothies were delicious, It was so good I had to get another one for the road. The food is so appealing even non vegans will like it, the entrée was fresh and tasty, and the recipes are clever, I wish I could make food like this. I left full, and I felt good knowing I had a healthy low fat meal. It’s a little far from my house but if I’m kicking around D. T Northville I’d come back.

Today I was taken here and was very surprised on how delicious this place is. The guacamole is out of this world, organic avocados really make the difference. Make sure you try the homemade raw corn chips, i’ve never had anything like it. I’m a big fan of all of their smoothies, mainly because many of them have lemon in them. Citric acid combined with some sort of green that you’d get in one of sandwiches is top notch for iron absorption. Not only that but it gives a great bite to the drink. The nori wrap was really fantastic, tasted pretty close to a veggie sushi roll minus the rice. Light and refreshing! I’d come here every chance I could if my wallet would let me. Cost me around $ 10 for food and drink spit with another person. Still I’ll be back very soon.

I tried 6 different items and everything I ate was amazing. The cashew cheese on the Redwich was so flavorful and the raw bread delicious. I loved the raw tacos, and the raw apple pie was the perfect amount of sweet and spice. The best was the chocolate ganache covered date nut balls. They were so rich and decadent. I will definitely go back soon.

I love meat. I absolutely LOVE cheese. AND I still will go to Red Pepper Deli when I’m in Northville. They have a decent selection of salads, sandwiches, and pasta. Also, there is a large selection of drinks including smoothies and shakes. Everything I’ve had tastes good with the exception that sometimes the sandwiches don’t feel tied together and I feel like I’m just eating random vegetables between two pieces of bread. Also, the food is slightly expensive. However, I guarantee you will leave Red Pepper Deli feeling good about what you just ate and drank.

Went on the recommendation of a friend who teaches raw cooking and also because of @liz w. and @mariah c’s reviews. My reactions were very similar. Was really surprised at how much I liked it and how many different dishes there were to use from. I had the redwhich which contained a «cashew cheese», raw veg, on a bread made in house. The bread was hitherto unknown to me. Mostly seeds held together by a minimal amount of something. Very nice. Not totally sure what cashew cheese is, but there are numerous recipes on the web. Lots of juices, blends and smoothies to choose from. Nice folks. I liked the décor which reflected the color of bright fresh vegetables.

The raw Walnut Tacos were awesome! We need more healthy deli options like this. I’m going to keep it simple. I only gave it 4 stars because I have only ate their once, but i will be back. This place is Dope!

I hate my arteries and I love eating fat laden foods. It’s not a big secret or anything. It’s not to say I do not have a varied palette or don’t like my fruits and veggies, on the contrary. I just like what tastes good and I am a typical Michigander. Here I can live with healthy. It’s creative, fresh and palatable. I was not expecting much but I was very pleasantly surprised. I took a veggie friendly and open minded pal with and we decided to split some things. The well talked of tacos were a must try. They did not disappoint. I really loved the fresh tomato salsa and guac on them and the seasoned walnuts really offered that taco feel. Not real tacos by any stretch but definitely flavorful with good satisfying crunch. The nori rolls with sunflower sprouts, romaine, red pepper, carrot, cucumber, scallions and seed cheese was not bad at all either. Crunchy and fresh. My friend was happy indeed. We also had some salad with a creamy garlic dressing I enjoyed too. For beverages, I settled for some very nice herbal tea but my friend had a blueberry pie smoothie that was pretty damn good. It is not terribly filling food but honestly, I am often excited about places like these because I like having the option of a place like this around. It is different and it encourages people to think about the food they eat. It is fresh and full of flavors and totally guilt free. The restaurant was comfy and airy, the people very friendly and helpful. It will not be my regular thing but I can definitely see giving it another whirl, especially during the warmer months when I always hit my fresh foods kick.

I was curious, but wasn’t quite positive that I would find something at Red Pepper Deli that would really sell me on the place. Raw and vegan food — in some people’s hands, it can be delicious, and in others, it’s simply bland. Luckily Red Pepper Deli is on the tasty side of things — they do it right. With fresh juices and an array of sandwiches, I was actually a bit overwhelmed by the choices. I tried the red-wich, with their own house bread(not your typical sammie bun or loaf). The staff was very helpful when met with my indecision, and it was sort of heartening to see just how busy they were. I’d stop by to try something else if I found myself in Northville again soon.

Yes! This place is fucking awesome. I’m biased, however, because I’m vegan. So, really, any place where I can order anything and everything off the menu already, by default, gets 4 stars. This place gets 5 stars because the food is great, too. I had the raw tacos. The«meat» consisted of walnuts seasoned with(what I identified as) cumin, garlic, and probably some other savory type spices. The shells were romaine lettuce leaves, and I added guac to it as well. Goddamn, these bad boys were good. I love vegan food that is imaginative and healthy, and Red Pepper Deli delivers on both fronts. Instead of serving up fake meat/cheese(i.e., tofurkey, boca burger, soy cheese – blech!), they serve unprocessed, whole foods without being boring! This is my favorite way to eat and I wish I was more motivated to create stuff like this at home. I can’t wait to go back and try the pizza with cashew cheese!

I am not vegan and have not experienced a raw, organic restaurant before. It was really good! Had the carrot, pineapple, ginger juice and it was delicious! The avocado mushroom sushi was great! My brother had the walnut meat taco’s and said it tasted just like real taco’s! I would try it if you are vegan or not!

My friend and I met here for lunch the other day & I really enjoyed it. The menu is pretty small. only about 4 or 5 sandwiches, they have salads too. there’s also daily specials written on notecards scattered around the countertop area that you don’t see til you’re getting ready to order and then slows you down making you reconsider your choice. maybe they can get some sort of larger board that they can post all the specials & soups so they’re all easy to see and in 1 place. it’d be cool if they posted the prices on the desserts, too. i had the raw walnut meat tacos, they come in big romaine leaves instead of taco shells and they were delicious. you get 2 and they were so big i felt totally full when i was done eating. plus, it was only 7 bucks! thats a great deal for a nice sandwich anywhere, let alone a raw meal! i would definitely go back & suggest it to my friends in the area. it’s great to see some raw & vegan food in michigan!

I am truly surprised to be the first person to review the Red Pepper Deli. Since they opened, I have been driving by, thinking I should stop in and see if its overpriced and gimmicky or worth the money for healthy food. There are always people in the restaurant, yet no reviews thus far, so I figured I needed to step up and get it on Unilocal… and I am glad I did! As promised, this is an all organic, raw establishment, that truly does not disappoint. Admittedly, although curious and allegedly a health conscious individual, I had never tried raw food and only occasionally eat organic. If you are thinking«umm, I prefer my food cooked,» then you are missing out. So what will you find at the deli? Wheat grass, good service, vegan options galore, a very interesting menu of healthy sandwiches, snacks, soups, salads, tonics, smoothies, and even desserts. I got zucchini soup, a nori roll sandwich, and a marinated portabella sandwich for my husband. We both loved the soup and the portabella sandwich.(There was nothing wrong with the Nori Roll other than the fact I should have known I wouldn’t want to consume enough nori to classify a sandwich… that’s my fault, not theirs). What won’t you find there? wheat, dairy(except in one smoothie), and cooked anything. You also won’t find a complete meal for under $ 10. Eh, whatever… you certainly get what you pay for and I believe that eating these types of foods are worth every penny. Also, to their credit, we got our food to-go and all of the packaging was recycled/recyclable. I would have been upset if this had not been the case. I enjoyed my chat with the manager, who is very much hands on and open to suggestions. Reading over the menu again brings me to realize that I will probably make this a go-to place for lunches. there are so many things I want to try. Next up for me… a «Greenwich» with seed cheese, avocado, spinach, cucumber, and sprouts. Sounds delish, no?!
