LAPD Devonshire Community Police Station

Completely useless rude and incompident. I can’t believe my tax dollars are going to these civil idiots. If I call and establishment that is here to serve and protect I would expect some comon courtesy and manners. But no I get a rude officer on the line. Talking to me like I’m 5 hrs old being rude and cutting me off. And when I try telling him to adress my concern of thefts going around my area. He literally made it seem like it’s nothing new and their was nothing they can do about it. Really?. All of them no matter what color their skin should go back to the academy and learn a thing or too about proffesionalism treating civilians while on duty.

I would be nice if you guys could pick up the phone after 15 minutes… when I see someone sitting in a Car, drinking beer and smoking out of a glass pipe, I call you guys, you don’t pick up. As I’m sitting on the phone awaiting a pick up, these guys wait for the mail man, steal all my mail and drive off!!! I guess I need to dial 911 for anything next time something comes up. Don’t bother these guys at devonshire, call 911.

I have dealt with this station over many years including their CEMP team and have nothing but good things to say about this Police department. Today they assisted me in tracking down my vehicle that was illegally towed and sold! Not sure what will come of it, but their investigation skills are highly valued to me. Thank you for all of your help. You guys are doing an awesome job! Tax dollars well spent.

Please let me preface that my review is based on my most recent experience which may or may not entirely be from staff from this department. In addition, my review is in hopes that it be used as feedback for improvement. My review is not meant to be a slander or character assassination.
I called 911 on Sunday Night when a relative and myself arrived home to find it burglarized. The relative is elderly, window broken, door unlocked, inside trashed, it was dark, and totally unaware if anyone was still on or around premises. As a result, called to have officers look around. I in maybe not so many words described this to the 911 operator. In short, no one showed up till the next morning (Monday!).
Upon arrival, by the way the arriving officers were very police and sincere. After doing the report, etc., they asked if I wanted finger printing done. I replied yes! This happened on yesterday «Thursday» basically four days later.
On Thursday, I wait for the officer to do the finger printing and this cop car shows up and parks in front of my home. I wait, and I wait as he sits in his car not sure what. So I leave my front door open, and he finally finds the will power to walk his maybe 5’4″ stature of a person and being very obviously unhealthy (Either bad emphysema or asthma). The race was not important but I think it played a big part. He mumbles something, about fingering printing. I make a failed attempt to smile and make some pleasantries, which he totally ignores. He immediately asks for the point of entry. I show him. To make a long story short. He took almost no finger prints. And the one set, out of the whole house, he did take was the one area I told him I had to touch to get the door open. This was even after I pointed to areas that had visible finger prints. I ask him if he needs names of people who should show up, as I don’t know the process.
This person did just enough work not to have to do any more work, no follow up, and continue to have no personality. As far as I remember, the motto was «To Protect and Serve».
Here is my recommendation:
* Please be considerate with elderly people are involved and make those a priority.
* Please remember that although you do many home invasion, to many of us its our first.
* All in all there is a large amount of Customer Service that has to be provided.
* Please remember that people aren’t done, please listen to their statements.

Well this was a bad event that turned into noticing how stupid people are. The officer’s have a tuff job. As i was doing my report. I listened to other people complain about how officers are not around when the crime is happening. People are so dumb. Officer’s were polite and respectful even to the rude dummies who complained

Boy this was a loser. I had a charge on my credit card and the CC company told me to report it to the police because I am pretty certain it was a gas station I had used, seeing that I never use the card and a week later big surprise an almost $ 1200 charge. I went in the first time and they told me I needed the credit card info and that it would be sent to the Van Nuys division. I went back and they said this would basically be filed and go no where. Also I didn’t like the way I was treated. The desk clerk took my license and asked me if I was WHITE? What does it say on my license? I am part Italian, German. Swedish. But my name is Italian and sounds like Spanish. The way she said it sounded racist. Also am I working? It all sounded accusatory. Why take my drivers license? I could have written the form out myself. Why? To show the CC company I was there? Stupid isn’t it? What a waste of time. Left feeling like a common criminal

I filed a police report about a month ago when someone stole my 16ft budget moving truck with all of my families belongings in it. I called later that day just to see if they had heard anything, silly me I thought they actually investigated grand theft auto etc… The officer who answered my phone informed me that they «don’t ‘look’ for the stolen vehicles but if they see any suspicious activity or abandoned vehicles they will run the plates and if they match those on my stolen truck they will let me know.» What the heck is that???
A different officer told me this happens a lot in Chatsworth and there is no question why it continues to happen! They don’t even look for the stolen vehicles!!! Everything my family owned was in that truck and a lot of the stuff like pictures, handmade gifts from my kids, ornaments, etc can NEVER be replaced!!!
I think the LAPD on Devonshire has to be in on this because otherwise it would not continue to happen. How hard would it be to set up a few moving trucks and leave them for a few nights to see who is taking them? Put a couple of gps devices on them or have someone hide in the back and boom! You can find your culprit… but that’s only if you care and clearly they do not!

Unfortunately I have been here many times.
They have always been very helpful and empathetic with my situations.
From personal experience, I’ve learned a lot from this place when I needed help, it is no longer intimidating to come here on my own.
Hopefully this is my last time coming to this place. Oh so bittersweet…

I called in with a mundane question about displaying two different license plates on my car — a vanity plate in my window and my registered plate on the car.
The officer who took my call couldn’t have been kinder. He listened to my story about the second plate and told me that he, too, had two plates though his second plate is a displayed in the car.

While I wish I didn’t have to enter the police station to file a report, it was still a good experience. The officer that assisted me with the report was very friendly and made sure she covered everything about the crime. She was also making comments regarding the individuals that was making me giggle… even though it wasn’t a fun ordeal. I am happy that my experience wasn’t painful, and I am very happy with the officers patience and kindness… even when she had to fill out two sets of paperwork because the other vehicle wasn’t in my name. Thank you for making the bad reason I went into the station, a less painful one for me. I wish you guys luck in finding the criminals.

Called the Station to report a burglary of my shop. 3 Ladies came to the shop, 2 of them distracted everyone with hectic diversion in the front, the other one went to the back to use the restroom but made a turn into one of our rooms to steal approx. $ 2000 worth of product. The officer on the phone was not at all interested in doing his job of even taking down a report, he kept asking us at every turn if we actually saw these ladies steal with their own eyes. If not, it’s speculation. We didn’t want them to actually look for these robbers, because we know this is not a big crime. We just want to make a report so that maybe they can see some trend and be vigilant. I guess they just don’t care, all they wanted to do is shut us down in every turn with questions to contradict us, did they think we just made this up for fun? It’s a bit uncomforting to know that this is where our tax money is going. I assume next time I need to stop the burglar and ask them if I can take a photo of what they stole so that I can report it to the police.
