Went in today for the 2nd time with my cousins, overall a party of 9. We normally go in a big group to places so we are used to waiting a while. Waited for a little over an hour, not too bad for a Saturday night. Everything was going well until I noticed the waiter never brought my Thai tea or even gave me a bib to begin with. I let that slide. Then once we were all done eating we received our separate bills & I noticed that I was charged for two 1 pound shrimp bags rather than ½ which is what I specifically ordered so I asked for that to be corrected. One of the employees there, I’m guessing the manager got mad at my entire group and banned us from ever coming into the restaurant again saying that there is always something we «complain» about. It’s not our fault your staff can’t take orders or do their job right the first time. I live in LA so I’ll stick to The Boiling Crab. Thanks. P.S: The first negative review I’ve ever had to leave.

Good considering I haven’t been to the one in Korea Town! YOU can now get the shrimp peeled. Nice!

Love the different types of sauces and spiciness level that is available with the seafood here! I always get the kickin mix which is every sauce mixed together and spicy level inferno1! It’s the right amount of spiciness for those who like the heat! Sauce can sometimes be salty though. I also love their Cajun fries!!! Very crispy and perfectly seasoned. Wash it all down with some ‘ol fashion Arnold Palmer!

I’d heard a lot about kickin kasian. Ppl say it good. Yes it’s good, but not great. I don’t like peeling my shrimp so I order both a half of pound of the regular and the peeled shrimp. The peeled shrimp cost $ 2.00 more. When my order came I was in disbelief. The peeled shrimp were half the size of the regular shrimp. I paid $ 2.00 to have them peel my shrimp, instead of peeling the shrimp, all they did was give me small cocktail sized shrimps, instead of peeling my shrimp. What a rip off. If I ever visit again… lesson learned is DONOTORDERTHEPEELEDSHRIMP. Unless it for a child.

Wow I am SO glad i gave this place another try, the food is so much better and the overall experience has improved came with a few friends on a wednesday afternoon, not too busy just had to wait a few minutes for the waiter to clean a booth for us the interior has changed a bit, or maybe it is just a different view when it is not as full one things for sure, you smell fish and will smell like fish! clean your clothes and let them air out after visiting this place! since the last time i tried the shrimp bag thing, i thought i play it a little safer and order a fry basket and try the shrimp from my friends i ordered a catfish basket with cajun fries; i asked if they can do a combo of catfish and shrimp and the waiter said i could not; kind sucks, i wish they could do combo plates or cheaper/smaller portions of each fish if we want two kinds but none the less, the catfish was delicious! the batter wasnt as crispy as i hoped but the cajun seasoning was spicy, delicious, the fish was soft flaky and delicious, and the fries were superb! i wasnt much of a fan of the cusabi wasabi sauce whatever it is, but the tartar is nice and chunky and i asked for a side of ranch which was also good my friend ordered a pound of peeled shrimp with a medium kajun mix i think, and it came with baby corn as well. WOW i don’t know what happened way back during my first time here, but that was absolute crap compared to this delicious hot mess of a great meal! i ended up finishing my basket and the last few shrimp of my friend’s bag lol to drink i had a thai tea, it comes in a big 32oz cup but no refills, but it will last and it is sweet and delicious! our waiter was cool, no issues there id love to return

I got a pound of shrimp with the kickin mix seasoning. I also asked for it to be spicy and got a side of rice. The sauce was flavorful and I wish it was a little bit spicier. The experience is pretty similar to Boiling Crab. I went with a friend of mine and the wait time was about 35 – 40 minutes. We weren’t in a hurry so we didn’t mind waiting. We aren’t from the area so it was definitely worth the wait. I’d definitely come here again.

If you like New Orleans vibe, you should go! The place is very casual, a little noise, you eat with hands delicious seafood, mostly fried. The shrimp was yummy. It is a fat food that you can eat sometime … Forget your diet. I have remembered my beach’s food in my country, Brasil.

This place is ok… Surprising thought it would be better, but it wasn’t. Denver has a way better seafood place than this one. DENVER! Anyways, I thought that the service was sub par. It seemed like they were giving everyone attitudes, maybe I could be wrong. The kickin all-in sauce was a lot saltier than I was expecting. Don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon.

Kickin KAsian is a pretty great alternative if you can’t make it to the Boiling Crab. The flavor isn’t as unique as the Boiling Crab, but the food here was still very delicious. Kickin KAsian has a decent size dining area with an average wait time of 30 – 45 min. The one big plus was the bathrooms compared to the Boiling Crab; they are well maintained and kept clean. They also have take-out which is pretty nice if you want shrimp to go. It’s conveniently located in Northridge about 10 min south of the 118 on Reseda Blvd. All in all, I would recommend this place. Pros: Decent wait time, Take-Out, Boiling Crab style menu, Parking!!! Cons: Not as good as Boiling Crab(if that’s what you’re expecting), small venue.

We loved it. The food was great. The service was excellant. I might spell the name wrong but Paulo our server was on it. This was such a fun experience. We can not wait to go back. The place was packed but the tables move quickly. You must try it.

I’m not really picky but the seafood is just not fresh tasting at all… we got shrimp, lobster and crab legs and we really were not happy. it was about 80 $ of disappointment. I was hoping it was just one item, but it was everything. Way way to expensive for poor quality. The service though was good :)

Ok so I have to vent. If I can give them zero stars I would. I really like this place better than any other place. I come here ALOT! But today was totally a different disappointing experience. I found it difficult and rude to have my family order our food at the front register instead of our table which was ready because we were missing 1 person in our group of 8. We were not missing anybody in our party when we got seated. It didn’t make sense especially when we had a table allready. So our order got messed up. So when we got seated we were missing items in our order because it was hard enough to get everyone’s order. We wanted to order more food for my little one because she doesn’t eat any of the stuff that was allready ready on the table. The staff refused to serve us more food. I explained my daughter has nothing to eat! But the staff’s explanation was there’s 20 people waiting to be seated. So basically from what I understood from her explanation in trying to justify why she can’t serve our family more food was because if we ordered more food we would take longer. It’s the restaurants policy that if you get seated before your whole party arrives that you should order in the front register. Make sure you order everything correctly because you won’t get a second chance to!!! Forget about getting served by the staff because you’re punished for having a member late. They want you to Eat your fuckin food as fast as you can so they can feed the others that are waiting. Forget about wanting to try something off their menu if something sounds good during your meal. Forget about a great dining experience with your family which was one of the point to eat out anyways. Just forget about it! I apologized to the server for raising my voice at the time. But I don’t think I’ll be back. I know we’re just a small group of business that they’ll lose which probably won’t matter to them.

When I want that Boiling Crab type of cuisine, but not willing to drive all the way to Ktown for it, this place is a good alternative for creole style seafood and hands on eating experience. This place is and asian cajun inspired dining, so don’t expect it to taste exactly like a creole dish. This place is a little bit pricier, but it’s a lot more convenient and quick, instead of having to go to Ktown and wait for hours. I have had a problem with this place the first time I ate here, but the food and the service was satisfactory, and I was pleased with my recent dining experience. The restaurant is usually pretty packed every time I’ve gone, but I have always been able to get a table fairly quickly. I have heard others waiting for up to an hour, but it’s usually good otherwise. It is really just like Boiling Crab, where your table is covered with a wax paper(for easy clean up after), and you have the option of wearing a disposable dib. The(sea)food comes out in a plastic bag, and you personally get down and dirty, and eat with your hands!(they do have disposable gloves for a little extra if you care too much about touching food) Your hands and mouth will get messy(try not to wear white), and your fingers will probably smell like shrimp the whole day. After you eat, rub your fingers/nails into the limes that they provide you, it will help reduce the smell of shellfish. The menu has things from oysters to crabs to shrimp(you can ask for availability of their seafood). Their lobster and crabs are on market price, so ask about it if you are interested in it. The other seafood options — mussels, clams, shrimp– have a set price. They even have chicken wings/tenders and fried fish as other options. You order your type of seafood, then your seasoning, and finally your spiciness. They have fried basket options, serve multitudes of beer, and even have thai tea(because this place is an Asian Cajun seafood restaurant). I recommend ½lb shrimps, Kickin’ Mix(the most popular) seasoning, and a medium spice(gives it a kick!). I also order a ½corn(which is usually soft and already in the bag), and steamed rice with fries on the side. The whole meal will probably only be around $ 10, so its not a deep wound in your wallet(unless you plan on a whole pound of shrimp). A ½lb of shrimps and a pint of rice will make you pretty full, so don’t try to underestimate it, and go for a bigger shrimp portion if you’ve never tried it before.

There are two good things about this place. 1) It’s the closest thing in the Valley to Boiling Crab. 2) The wait isn’t 2 hours long, more like less than an hour. The price here is a bit steep though for fresh seafood. I ordered shrimp and it was okay. The biggest thing I didn’t like about it was that the flavor didn’t stick to the shrimp. The flavor of it was on the outside only and when I bit into the shrimp it lost all its flavor. Service was okay, but as always busy.

Love this place. With the flavor, shrimp size and it’s freshness — this would be an easy choice over The Boiling Crab(for me, at least — sorry to The Boiling Crab fans). The wait can be gruesome but it is sooo worth it.

So last night I met up with an old friend to get some ramen. He didn’t feel like ramen so we decided Kickin’ Kasian sounded much more palatable. There’s always a line so I figured it MUST be good, why not? Honestly, I’m not sure WHY this place is always so busy. Listen, the food is fresh enough. Don’t get me wrong we scarfed our shrimp, crab and chicken wings down, when in Rome, do as the Romans do, but none of it was flavorful or left me wanting more. Me, I’m all about flavor. That being said, I’m not a big fan. As many spices as it looks like there are mixed into the Kickin’ sauce or the garlic butter, somehow, nothing stands out. Also, let me point out that my friend ordered half a pound of shrimp with the garlic butter sauce and half a pound of shrimp in the kickin’ kasian mix. When it got to the table, it was more like ¾ lbs in the garlic butter and ¼ in the other. Kinda weird but worth mentioning. Maybe it’s me, maybe I was having a bad day and my tastebuds weren’t firing right. Maybe I’ll come back and give it another try and order the fried stuff.

This is a great alternative to boiling crab if you dont want to wait 2hrs to be seated. I was here with a party of 4 and we got seated within 5 minutes. Not only do you have great servers who take the time to talk to you and check up in you, but the food is great! The quality of the seafood is way more fresh than boiling crab. At least the shrimp is firm and its head is still attached to the body! You have the option of ordering half a pound of shrimp and half a pound of sausage. That way you can get the best of both worlds! They also use butter instead of oil, which makes you feel less guilty about eating a little more.

Keeping this simple. Kickin Kasian isn’t bad at all. Actually it was petty damn good. Our group of 12 that day left very satisfied with an happy tummy. The service was excellent and friendly! FOOD : Kasian Fried: Apparently you can order this regular to spicy. We got it spicy and damn it was good. Shrimp: Wow!!! These were big shrimps and they were fresh and sweet. As for the seasoning we got the Kickin Mix it’s a mixture of(lemon pepper, kasian garlic, and garlic butter) highly recommend! Dungeness Crab!!! The Bomb! Perfectly cook ! Super fresh. Note: if you decide to get this order a side of rice, so you can pour the crab fat, sweet innards all over your rice!!! YUMMY!!! This ain’t no Boiling Crab, but it worth trying out.
