Needed a calm oasis today with good snacks; Gayle’s was perfect! Becca(I think that’s her name) was very friendly.

It seems like this place gets even better every time we go. Definitely try their monthly specials because they tend to be DELICIOUS. I also can’t resist the cookies they make. Ugh, every time I go there’s some new tempting goody on the counter. Today I tried the molasses cookies, which were great, and I can rarely resist the Nutella cookies, or the orange-cranberry muffins… :) Oh, also in my last review the only tiny thing I wished they’d change was the cream cheese, because they had the light spreadable kind and I prefer the flavor of full-fat. Well, today my bagel came with the classic cream cheese I love so much! Perfection! And, as always, the staff is friendly and enthusiastic and an absolute delight. If I could, I’d go here every single day.

There’s not many places to study in the valley, but Gayle’s Perks is definitely a place that everyone needs to check out. There’s an extensive menu of hot and cold drinks which can range from coffee(lattes/cappuccinos/iced coffees) to juices/lemonades. Also, if you’re feeling hungry, they serve food! Breakfast is served all day, which included breakfast burritos, breakfast crepes, bagels and croissants. They also have paninis(Try the Portobello Bacon Panini) and crepes. This little shop is really quiet and isn’t crowded like other coffee shops like Starbucks or Coffee Bean. I just really enjoy the atmosphere here. Service is excellent, and the workers are always so kind and helpful. Bonus, they also have a selection of books and their policy is, «Take a book, leave a book.», which I thought was really interesting.

Adorable coffee spot — a new favorite! Walking in has the nostalgia and friendly homecoming of stepping into your favorite grandma’s living room. With giant mugs(even Mason jars!) and local pastries, this place feels like a home away from home, complete with a dog-friendly patioa! And so much better than going to the same-old Starbucks around the corner. The latte and dirty chai were the best I’ve tasted in awhile! Support a local business and check it out!

I’ve been coming here since 2013 and it is still my favorite place to go to for some quiet study time(free wifi) or for brunch. I always get the strawberry nutella crêpe and the spiced apple chai latte. This drink is SO good, cold or hot! They have a cute little library area with two bookshelves and couches. Gayle’s Perks is dog friendly with an adorable outdoor patio as well!

I wrote a review for this place once upon a time ago and gave it only 1 star. I used to come to this place in high school with friends and it sucked! I stopped coming to this place because of how bad the service was(there was only ever one worker and they worked so slowly and always messed things up!). I’ve come here twice in the past 2 weeks and I think this place has changed for the better! I think the cups got smaller, but are still huge! Also, remember to check in for $.50 off! This makes price so much better esp considering the quantity you get. There are now 2 workers at all times it seems like! So drinks come out faster, however, I’ve gotten iced coffee both times and both times the coffee machine is out of coffee. when you order iced coffee here, you get coffee cubes and then you fill it up with a coffee of your choice. This way, your coffee doesn’t get watered down as it cools! Genius! You get coffee cubes and syrup is poured on the bottom if you choose a flavor(I get hazelnut!) then you fill it up with a coffee of your choice! But, both times I came, I had to ask the worker to brew more coffee(taking about 5 mins) because they were out. I wish they were more prepared incase I was in a hurry and couldn’t wait the 5 mins. Overall, I will start to return here again and order more things! I’ve never liked the food here(paninis or the crepes), but the drinks are great!

4.5 stars***** Man this place is always busy! But its a neat little café with books(!!!) and really good coffee. They dont have many gluten free & vegan options so I haven’t eaten here, however I will say if you do have a problem to gluten/wheat like celiac, I would avoid the baked goods(some are gf) but yes, the service is really great and friendly — normally come here with company but someday I hope to find a seat to myself. Also dogs are allowed on the patio!

What a wonderful find. I was looking for a place to kill a few hours and get some work done, and I found a cozy coffee shop with free wifi, and pleasant staff. Great drinks. Really nice place

Its kinda hard to find this coffee shop. It is located at a hidden corner on a big plaza! We had to call and ask the exact location because we couldnt find it. Its very small from the outside. This coffee shop is literally for students who have lots of cramming to do lol. Its very quiet, people are almost whispering. They have outdoor seating and the layout is exactly like your grandma’s backyard! They serve coffee hot and cold, teas and crepes! It was a very chill experience, I dont think ill be back though!

A place that I consider home away from home because it reminds me of my college city– Santa Cruz. I used to go to cafes back in SC, and I love discovering new places where I can relax, drink some delicious coffee or teas and have a snack on the side of course. I’ve now been coming here for almost two years and I have to admit the ambience of the place is soothing. I come whenever I want some me time and order coffee or tea. My ultimate favorite is the strawberry vanilla Matcha which isn’t sweet but just right that I get to enjoy the favors. As far as coffee goes, I change it up every once in a while to try something new, but if I want to be on the safe side I get an almond latte. I’ve tried the crepes which are good(I’m not a big crêpe fan). This is going to be my first time trying a parfait, so I’m excited once I’m done I can post something about it. ^_^ Overall, great drinks, good food and great service. This place definitely deserves people to keep on coming in.

I am a fan! This place is SUPER tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, but don’t judge a book by its cover. Inside Gayle’s is cute and the menu is great, especially the drink menu. I couldn’t help myself, I had to order TWO drinks, the iced chai latte(delicious) and the Vietnamese latte, which was one of the specials. Delicious coffee with milk, cinnamon and vanilla. So good. We also ordered the banana and strawberry nutella crêpe to share(YUM) and a bagelwich. I would probably skip that next time, it was just ok but then again I am not a huge fan of bagel sandwiches in general. Definitely will be back when I need a good coffee or chai!

Cute little spot for breakfast or lunch. Not too busy when I went in on a Friday around 11am. I got a strawberry nutella crêpe. The strawberry drizzle was perfect on top but I wish they added more strawberries inside. The crepes at Crave are heavily filled inside and that’s what these lacked.

Such a cute little place. Me and my boyfriend discovered it by looking up breakfast places in the area and gave it a try a few times. I love the atmosphere and the friendly girls behind the register. They are always very helpful and with a positive attitude and I enjoy starting off my day with a great service. However, there are a few cons. They don’t seem to check their mixed greens often enough, because most of the times we went, I would find a rotten leaf in my side salad. Not very appetizing. And the other thing is the hours. Many times we drive out there and they are closed. When its during their work hours. And what coffee shop is closed on Sundays?!

This is a gem! Wow Baristas were immediately very inviting. 2 girls around 20 years old that made great coffee and pastries. I ordered a latte and mixed them. Half mocha half cinnamon and I highly recommend you try it! So delish. I ordered a medium and it was perfect size for me to study. Not only is the coffee great but the ambiance is a 5⁄5. If you go outside in the back you’re going to forget you’re in a shared lot. I have to admit I was hesitant when arriving. but don’t be scared! They have it set up like a grandmas back yard with garden furniture like benches, metal tables and such. Not to mention, they added plugs outside! So you can bring your computer out no problem. It’s quiet and so nice to relax. I adore this place. And I will be back if I can! Rate 5⁄5 for service, baristas, ambiance and taste.

Tucked away in a little corner, reminding you a bit of Friends’ Central Perks, & smelling of crepes. This café stands as my favorite. The one café I always look forward to coming back to after straying away for too long. FOOD/COFFEE: Turkey pesto panini & an iced tuxedo. That’s it. You’re in for a good sit down. However, they always feature new/seasonal paninis that are always worth a taste. Also, if your stomach has room, crepes will get your sweet tooth going. Their crepes do come in sweet & savory! ATMOSPHERE: I’ve come here for«I haven’t seen you for months!» lunches, «OMG my paper is due at 11:59PM tonight & all I have is ‘The’» cram sessions, & my favorite. «Gonna hide from the world today» me time. Unfortunately, the one big downside to this place is that they’re only open till 6PM. One more thing: Free Wifi. Unilocalers, come come.

I’ve been on this shopping center to go to Albertson’s or CVS many times, and never thought that there would be such a quaint little coffee chop. It’s tucked away in the corner so it’s easy to miss. The staff is very friendly, if they’re not up in front, just ring the bell and they pop out happy to help you. They play music in the background, but it’s still pretty quite so you can get a lot of writing done. I could not get any work done yesterday so I decided to take my laptop and go to a coffee shop. Starbuck’s was just too loud and crowded. So I looked up on Unilocal and Gayle’s Perk came up. Such a pleasant surprise. And they have wi-fi too!

Although i was pleasantly surprised to have been served two pieces of avocado toast instead of one piece, it made no difference as they tasted kind of odd. Not to mention the toast was too hard, avocado was sparse and I prefer my egg yolks to be at least a little bit runny(but that last part could’ve been changed had I known how they normally cook their eggs). Matcha green tea was meh. It’s literally just like milk and matcha powder. All in all, I would still come back for their rude service. Oh wait… nevermind. On the bright side, if you need a quiet place to work/study, they have wifi and outlets.

I feel like the San Fernando Valley lacks in variety. All we have to offer — Extremely large portions. Next time I go, I have to remind myself that Gayle’s medium is equivalent to a normal Large. My friend and I were discussing how we’re scared to find out how big the Large is. — They have a nice outdoor patio area with tables for you to study outdoors. I can’t wait for it to cool down, so I could use this area. — The coffee shop itself is very small and cozy. It doesn’t seem to get extremely busy. I was there on a Saturday afternoon, and there were enough seats for me and a friend.

I stopped in today after finding this place on Unilocal as I needed somewhere to work outside the house. I arrived at 10 am and there were some people already camped out working or studying. Seems as though you would need to come earlier to guarantee your spot if you want to work in the a/c. I order a dirty chai latte and it was very yummy and served in a cute cup, which was a bonus. At 12 I ordered a tuna salad and it was SO good oh my goodness! I will definitely be back for this salad! The salad was something to write home about and it was only $ 7.50. I was stoked. All in all a good place to get some work or studying done, just arrive accordingly so you can sit by the outlets if you need to use your laptop. They also have what looked like a nice, dog-friendly, patio and I look forward to trying it if and when it ever cools down.

Another hidden gem I’ve been able to work at for hours on end. I get so excited when I find these places, especially because I need a specific atmosphere if I’m to concentrate on whatever I’m doing. Okay, were was I… I tried to find this place on two separate accounts before calling on my third and asking where the heck they were hidden. It’s in the shopping center where the Albertson’s, Robeck’s and Hadda’s is. It’s smack dab in the middle and the sign may not be too visible from the parking lot. Unlike my other favorite work spot, I have not had the opportunity to try their teas… I indulged in their delicious crêpe instead. I felt so guilty, but whatever… it was good! My first chai crêpe too! They have plenty of places to settle into, and even have a library area set up. You can take a book and leave one too; it’s set up on the honor’s system. They also have a cute outside workplace, but it was rainy when I went so I couldn’t get decent photos. Try this place out and if you get lost, give ‘em a call :)
