Authentic, clean, simple Chinese cuisine. Taste is impeccable. NOMSG or other unwanted ingredients. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend: D

I decided to try Chi based on their 4 star rating on Unilocal, and I am definitely not impressed with the quality of the food. This place is a sub par Chinese restaurant and like previous reviews have stated I much rather would have gone to Panda Express for a more flavorful meal. The duck I received was burned and was so dry it tasted like a dry price of overcooked meat. The orange chicken was mainly dough with hardly any flavor, and the kung pao chicken lacked flavor and spice. Would not recommend.

The resturant itself is very clean and nicely decorated. The haw gaw was fresh and flavorful The orange chicken came out doughy, some tasted refried, some tasted barely cooked. The walnut shrimp was ok. walnuts were done perfect. But the batter on the shrimp or the sauce had a chalky after taste that wasn’t pleasant. The rice is clumpy… old or poor quality rice. Green onion pancake was over cooked and too much flour inside(chunks of uncooked flour came out) ewe. Waiter was ok but only checked on us once Had to flag him down mulitple times and he forgot our drink refills and sauces. Seemed pretty disorganized. Bus boys were not helpful either trying to get some chili sauce. Waiter was pretty much only friendly when he brought us the check.

11 people for Friday dinner Reservation made in advance I came here to have a special dinner to celebrate my friend’s graduation. My friend’s boyfriend already made a reservation in advance, so we was able to be seated right away. The inside of the restaurant was pretty clean and modern. It was very busy and we eneded up waiting much for our orders to come out(maybe we were too hungry to be patient?). You can choose two sizes, either small or regular and we ordered all foods in small. Their portions were enough and it was pretty interesting that the server was so honest that their Dan Dan Mein is not recommended lol Anyway I enjoyed the food I ordered and welcomed my weekend woohoo!

My 1st time at this restaurant and it wasn’t that bad! It was lunch hour so it was pretty packed, I liked their food and their service was very friendly, asking how we were doing and if we needed anything else

2 stars** one for the décor, the other is for the beautiful fish tank. Again, another place with generic bland Chinese faire. The chefs need to go back to cooking school. Definitely not a «foodie» place and will not be on the«best list» in any of the local magazines any time soon. When I go to meet friends I stick with the salads and the jasmine tea and coke. I question the food quality and hopefully nothing icky goes on behind the kitchen walls. The meat is dark and rather chewy, farmed shrimp and some of the dishes look a little unappetizing when they arrive at the table. Oh, my birds do like the dried out white rice. Anyway, I really love the open kitchen trend but OMG they hard to find in the valley. Catch on you guys.

First time I went and I was very impressed with the décor. Very nice looking restaurant, was really excited. The service was good, young college age people work there. Nothing to complain about with the service and the look of the restaurant. Unfortunately, my food was really gross. I got the sweet and sour chicken. It was chewy as if it had been microwaved. It had no flavor. Panda Express has more flavor. It just tasted lightly sweet and chewy. I can best compare it to a Hole in the wall Chinese buffet where you’d expect the food to be below average. Also, there was a black hair in my food, I don’t have black hair. I honestly saw the hair right away and just removed it and kept eating but the food was so gross that I returned it. They took it off the bill and were nice about it. My boyfriend got the chicken curry and also said it was lacking in flavor but he still liked it. We both decided that since the prices are so high we wouldn’t go back because frankly, the food isn’t worth it. Just my honest opinion. I have 1 star because it’s all about the food, if you don’t have good food then you have nothing.

No… this place is not good. The restaurant is very small and uncomfortable. The service is deplorable. When my family and I walked in, we weren’t even greeted. The hostesses looked frazzled and unwelcoming. They were more concerned with the to-go orders than a family of 4 waiting for a table. Uh, hello… what brings you more cash?! Please prioritize! The food portions are small, which I wouldn’t mind if it is good quality ingredients. We ordered a dumpling sampler plate, steak cilantro wrap, string beans and Mongolian beef. The dumplings were nothing special. They looked like they came from Costco’s freezer. The steak wrap was over cooked. Those were the good parts of the dinner! The Mongolian beef dish was an embarrassment. We ordered the large plate. It must have had only ¼ cup of beef bits(that were mushy! Is beef supposed to be mushy?!) with about 3 cups of onion. Ridiculous! If you want real Chinese food, go to Monterey Park. If you want Chinese American food, go to Pick Up Stix instead.

I stopped here on my way home from CSUN. Riding solo because I can I’m assuming the guy who is the owner was really nice. The servers seemed slightly inexperienced, but were also really nice. I ordered more food than I wanted to eat so I could have leftovers… The walnut shrimp is good, but is very sweet. The walnuts taste like they’re candied. So… Good, but really really sweet. I would’ve liked to have ordered another dish to go along with it to balance it, but it would’ve been too much as I also ordered the scallion pancake(really liked it!) and the soft pork buns were okay… I’ve had better. The food is a 3 – 3.5, but everyone was so nice I rounded up… Because I can.

A friend & I came here for dinner the other night. I needed to adhere to my dietary restrictions, & she suggested this place. This is pretty much the only Chinese place here in the Valley where I can do just that. I ordered my pan fried noodles with light soy sauce. It tasted simply delicious! It was that damn good. Sooo good that I wish they would make this dish extra large. Service was impeccable, & I loved the décor. Very warm & inviting with the wood panels on the walls. Yes, they do deliver to my workplace. Awesome! Now, if they only could deliver to my cube that would make my day. But, I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

I used to come to Chi’s all the time when I was a student at CSUN. Back then Chi’s was just a tiny little hole in the wall so imagine my surprise when years later I came back and saw that it was now had had a major makeover and was now huge! The customer service was great as always. My wife and I even spent some time talking to the manager about all the changes and he couldn’t’ve been nicer. The food was just as I remembered: delicious. We got a variety of dishes and just ate them family style and just couldn’t put our chopsticks down. From the steamed veggies to the beef and broccoli and everything in between. Just delicious! In other words, Chi’s is still the great little Chinese restaurant I remembered from almost a decade ago. It’s just now bigger in size. That just means now more people can come and enjoy a delicious meal.

Chi’s Chinese Cuisine(CCC) is Awesome! Done, my review!(lol, just kidding!) I read a couple of great reviews about CCC after they remodeled and was in the valley getting my passport picture done at Costco for my passport renewal which I did already at the LAPA(btw, $ 4.99 for 4 passport photos, awesome!!); so decided to drive up a bit further north to see if the food is as good as the Unilocaler star ratings. Boy, was it a great authentic meal! All the waiters/waitresses and servers are very friendly. We had a chance to talk to Marco who is the second generation owner/manager of this place. CCC has only one location and I surely hope they stay that way. Many Chinese places are now becoming chains and franchises and it’s all about over inflated hypes! Once a great Chinese restaurant starts chains & franchises, its’ time for me to move on in my book. Don’t get me wrong, at times I like the Panda’s, the Chin Chins and pretty soon that Din tai fungs and all, but it’s just not the same anymore! Sure, it is all about the expectation. Once they become an amoeba, I lower my expectations, sure because then it’s all about the profit, balance sheets, income statements and free cash flows… accounting stuff, BORING! We were lucky to be the first in line as the place was getting packed around 8 pm. After we sat down, we were greeted with water and menus. The menus were in English only so we thought, oh-oh, none legit Chinese food immediately. We were SOWRONG! On the contrary, the food was authentic and cooked to perfection! We ordered the Hot n sour soup($ 9.25), Mu shu pork small for 2($ 7.95), steamed mixed vegetables($ 8.25), chicken mifun($ 9.55) and their famous dish, walnut shrimp large($ 15.95 including rice. Brown rice add $ 1). We specifically over ordered so we can have some left over to take home and enjoy some more later, but no, we finished them all(OMG)!! CCC is 100% LEGIT! The décor is fresh and the food & services were exquisitely divine. Though CCC is located inside of a strip mall with plenty of parking spaces, it can be hard to find parking at times due to that there are maybe 3 or 4 other restaurants in the shopping center. Be a bit patient, a space will open up as the flow of the ins and outs are quite abundant. They do take reservations. So if you’re ever in the valley, do stop by CCC, I highly recommend it!

Just stopped by here after work to grab some Dinner to go. Apparently they deliver as well! I ordered the pineapple curry fried rice with shrimp and boy was it good! Super flavorful and shrimp was decent sized! Looks rather casual and modern inside. Enjoyed my dinner very much!

One of our favorite Chinese places. Great food and ambiance. We love the sweet and pungent chicken, but everything we’ve ordered has been great. They have a ton of dim sum and we enjoy trying different things. The Shanghai dumplings are those trendy yummy soup dumplings. One bite servings because as soon as you start to chew, the juices splatter in your mouth. The steamed dumplings are also really good… And I need to try those scallion pancake steak rolls. Look amazing! The portions are a little small so order a lot… I guess it’s a good sign because we always leave the restaurant thinking we should have ordered more.

I decided to give them another try. My last review was based on when they first reopened after the remodeling. I must say that I am very impressed! Everything I complained about has not been an issue the last few times I’ve eaten there. I guess they were just trying to get back on track since being closed for so long and training new chefs I’m sure wasn’t easy. They are back on my radar and my go to place for Chinese food. Yay!
