Can’t say enough nice things about this place. Delicious coffee, friendly service, comfy seating in a sunny spacious atmosphere complete with fireplace! Great paninis and scones etc. We could spend hours here and we do!

Best breakfast café in Northfield. Excellent coffee choices(large mugs, no burnt taste, variety beans) — 5 stars! Excellent food menu — 5 stars! Excellent interior(wood furniture, fireplace, lots of space) 5 stars! … And clean bathrooms– with diaper changing tables in Men/Women’s, oasis for parents with kids. Hands down, best breakfast spot in Northfield, MN.

Good coffee, great food, organic options, take debit. Quite and a good place to get work done. The place had a good atmosphere and is not over run with loud women’s groups making it impossible to concentrate but that could change. Internet connection is good. Reception was friendly and made me something that was not in the menu. 5 stArs plus for that ! A lot of places would not do that

Every time I travel to Northfield I have to stop or go through the drivethrough for a coffee here. I love the atmosphere inside too. Friendly staff.

Sitting in the cozy leather couch in front of the fireplace feels more like a ski lodge than a strip mall. The coffee here is good and the servers are friendly. Seems like a lovely place to study if you have a car to get off campus, or a nice local spot if the coffee shop downtown is overflowing with students.

Tried this place out today; the atmosphere is cute and fun. They have a nice warm fireplace and some games that you can use. I tried their pilgrim panini(turkey, cranberries, granny smith apple slices, cheese and some sauce that didn’t make it onto my sandwich for some reason) and my daughter had a club sandwich that was their ‘special.’ Unfortunately, there was nothing special about either of them. Mine was flavorless and dry and the cranberries were craisins sprinkled sporadically enhancing the overall flavor but making the sandwich need a sauce even more. Her bread was dry and one slice had been torn and turned upside down so half of the sandwich fell on the floor as soon as she picked it up. There wasn’t much meat other than some crappy, gross looking bacon and a bunch of limp lettuce. And you must know, I do not take insulting any kind of bacon lightly– it happens to be my favorite food. But, it didn’t look or taste good and I felt as though I had thrown $ 15(the cost of our sandwiches) right out the window into the Minnesota wilderness. On the bright side, her hot chocolate and my iced chai were good and we did enjoy playing one BA game of checkers while we waited the 20 minutes for our sandwiches to be made. Overall, not terrible but not great. It was a mediocre experience that I probably won’t ever pay to have again. I like to think that people need to be good at the job that they get paid to do. I really felt like the staff half assed it and I’m sorry that I gave them such a nice tip when they ran my card before we got our food or beverages. Those tricksters!

This became my coffee house of choice while studying in Northfield. You can only really get here if you have a car, but if you do, then it is so nice. I’ve only ever had coffee, tea, and perhaps a scone or two, so I cannot comment on the food. But it is a perfect place to get some work done. I can’t count how many pages of numerous papers were written at this nice little place. Far more serene and thus conducive to accomplishing work than the ever popular blue monday’s downtown.

First off, disclaimer: I worked here one summer. Second: This place is really good. If you want a coffee shop that’s(far) less crowded and noisy, this is the one, though it can be a hike for students without vehicles. The owner’s stress quality, almost to the point of hysteria — but that’s why it’s so good. The coffee is always fresh, and the sandwiches have strict regulations which means high-quality. They also seek the best, freshest ingredients. I haven’t been there since the drive-thru opened, so I’m hoping James Gang’s efficiency hasn’t decreased at all. I kinda miss waking up at 5 in the morning to go bake pastries and brew coffee.
