Unique Indoor Comfort

A handful of years back Unique installed 2 A/​C systems into a rental building my family had in Niles. The installation went well, the price was fair and the job was clean. Other than some routine matiaience, the systems continue to work well today.

HORRIBLE INTERACTION WITH OWNER! Scheduled a repair for my furnace. The problem had been diagnosed the last time Unique had been at my house. At that time, they said the necessary part was not available, but they got it working until the part came in. Months later, after no follow up, the part finally quit. We called and the serviceman was nice enough, but «was told» to charge us for a diagnostic fee, service fee, part fee and hourly labor rate to install the part. When we called the office to discuss the double charging for a previous diagnosis AND second service fee, the owner was extremely rude. He apparently doesn’t care about repeat business. He did give us a 10% senior discount — less than removing the fees would have been — and said «You don’t sound like a senior, so you better just take it.» If you don’t want to be insulted or ripped off — stay away from Unique in Northbrook!
