I have eaten here a few times and each meal has been very, very good. Last night I had day boat scallops, grilled asparagus and roasted smoked paprika fingerling potatoes for $ 30. Friends had the tuna and tenderloin, which they raved about. My meal was great, couldn’t have been better. Next time, I would get the scallops without any sauce, just so the sauce did not over power the scallops. There were five scallops on the plate… just the right amount. The dinner was hot when served, which is important for me! The place is usually very busy so make a reservation. My only slight grrrrr was the waiter. He was almost to bothered to wait on us. Yes, it was busy, and we very gracious with him. We never, ever give waitstaff a hard time. He took our drink order and seemed miffed that I only wanted spring water and not a mixed drink like my friends were having. I also ordered the smoked paprika potatoes and got the plain instead, which is not big deal. I asked him if they were the smoked, knowing that they were not and he lied and said of course they are. He was a prima donna and not gracious at all. I will make sure he isn’t our waiter next time we dine there. The owner is first class and is a real asset to the community.

Work related dinner. For apps we had the smoked salmon, olives, and roasted garlic. All great. For my main I had the ribeye with roasted potatoes, asparagus, and chimichurri. Steak was cooked well and the sides were great. I thought that the steak was under seasoned and the chimichurri added nothing, but my palate could have been blown from the garlic. The ability to get BLDG8 fresh on tap is always a luxury.

I had dinner here the other night with my vegan daughter and I was very pleased and would be more than happy to go again. Thanks for a good time and good meal Sierra Grill! The atmosphere at Sierra Grill is very nice. It is located in a 3 story building with 2 other restaurants right next to Pearl Street, right across from The Platform Bar(not that good) and the Tunnel Bar(great place). Seating areas are about 1⁄3 bar and 2⁄3 dining. Reading other reviews I guess they don’t let you sit at the tables in the bar unless you will eat. That’s too bad. It’s a little dark in the dining area. It is decorated in almost a French or Belgian Bistro sort of way. They were playing music from the 1930’s and 1940’s when I was in. There were plenty of tables and booths. However, they might get packed on a weekend. I had a booth for my visit. The seats of the booth was a little narrow and I might ask for a table next time. Anyway — good atmosphere. Cuisine is bistro style and I really liked it. For the most part, you order a protein, order a sauce and then order two sides. Interesting formula. Here they had 2 good options of Seitan and Tofu for vegetarians and all the classic grill meat options for everyone else. I read good things about the beef and steaks but I had salmon which was very good and my daughter had Tofu. She was also pleased. They have mussels and some other pannini options also and a good range of appetizers and desserts. The mussels look good and I may go back for those. Since its a bit of a Belgian theme here and Belgians do mussels great — I am optimistic! Wine list was good and had a nice variety of options. There were many good beer options also. May have to go back for that as well. Maybe they have Leffe?! Service was very good for me… so no complaints there. My waiter was very attentive and knew the menu and the vegan options well. I totally appreciated that. Prices were what I expected and value was more than good. I really liked Sierra Grill and would do it again. I totally recommend this place.

Came for drinks and light food around 8:30 on a Saturday. We sat at the bar and all the staff was very friendly. The beer selection was good and food was very tasty. We ordered the Mac and cheese special, corn bread and brownie sundae! I will be returning!

Fun original menu with lots of good vegetarian options, and some yummy vegan ones as well. You pick a protein, a sauce, and two sides, and we recommend the roasted root vegetables, smashed potatoes, duck breast with mushroom red wine sauce, and the peanut sauce on either seitan or tempeh. No vegan desserts, though. Slightly upscale atmosphere, good service.

There was a bit of a wait so a reservation is recommended. It is also a bit pricey. For a special occasion it made a great meal. The Belgian fries are incredible and my boyfriend and I could not get enough of them. The menu style is different, for an entrée, you choose your protein and then a sauce. A great atmosphere and made for the perfect night out.

My girlfriend and I were in the area. Parking was a challenge but the food was great for me and her. I had the ny strip w chimichurri and she had the seitan. As she is vegan we can rarely find a place that suits us both. The roasted garlic was super flavorful and the cornbread melted in your mouth. Awesome!

Dimmed lights, soft music, good aesthetic, delicious and relatively affordable — just a really solid location for a American bar cuisine classy dinner. Waitress was perfectly competent if a little withdrawn, the hallmark of experienced waiting. This place has portions on fleek: just a little more than just right to give you the sense of getting your money’s worth. Entrees are actually a pretty good deal, around the 20 – 30 dollar range; pick a protein and a sauce(they rly pride themselves on their sauces) and two sides. There’s a small mussels menu, steaks&fries menu, and a daily specials menu that offers nice options as well. Cornbread(appetizer): one will not regret this order. Truly fantastic. Two good sized triangles of buttery, warm, moist and perfectly crispy just on the edges cornbread with butter that felt freshly churned on the tongue. Perfect amount for three girls. Mussels(Thai style): $ 10 a heap of tender mussels in slightly watery but pretty tasty Thai curry-like sauce, comes with three baguette thins that was just enough to complement most of the mussels. Pulled lamb sliders(2) with curly sweet potato fries: $ 8 The flavor were all there, the brioche buns were a tiny bit lacking that slight crispness but it was just due to the time that it probably sat waiting for the other dishes to get ready(size and price of an appetizer(;). The mustard honey(mustard flavor def stronger than the honey) sauce actually when really well with the sliders, if you ask for ketchup they’ll give you house made ketchup. Classy af. Companions ordered ny strip steak with mac&cheese and asparagus, said it was absolutely lovely(I can attest to the asparagus being cooked and salted perfectly), and the tempeh with grilled vegetables and sweet potato curly fries, also no complaints. Sweet potato curly fries though, were eh. Hard/overcooked/too thin, not enough of that soft inside of truly good sweet potato fries. All in all though, lovely. Would come again if I’m ever in northhampton.

My wife and I visited for the first time on New Year’s Eve. We had the«hot casserole» spinach, artichoke, cheese dip for appetizer and enjoyed it very much. We then ordered two entrees off the specials menu: scallops and beef short ribs. The scallops were delicious, but only 4 to a portion. Short ribs were good, but nothing spectacular. Sierra Grille makes a big deal about their sauces and you’re supposed to pick a sauce for each entrée, but we didn’t want to take a chance on the scallops so we asked for porcini garlic butter on the side. Scallops are delicate and though the butter was tasty, we were glad the scallops were served plain. The short ribs came in their own sauce, a porter beer reduction, which was fine. Between the two of us we had 4 sides: butternut squash purée(good), french green beans(good), grilled asparagus(very good) and au gratin potatoes, which were too garlicky for our taste. For desert we split a mocha espresso pots de crème, which was excellent, probably the best thing we had all night, though the portion was on the small side. Service was OK, but not great — our waiter was helpful and seemed to be trying, but disappeared for long stretches. Also, our entrees arrived warm, but definitely not hot and in less than 10 minutes they were cold(it could have been exacerbated by the fact that we seemed to be sitting beneath an air conditioning vent). We asked to have everything heated up and our waiter apologized and immediately took our plates back to the kitchen. They came back — nicely replated — a short while later and we enjoyed the rest of the meal. Overall we had a nice meal, but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere is OK, but a little loud for a romantic evening, at least on New Years. We might go back — they have a great beer selection and a very cosy bar in the front(but no hard liquor), but will probably try other places in Northampton first.

Growing up, I would always hear my mother, a veteran of the Hong Kong restaurant scene, grouse about how there were no good restaurants to be found outside of big cities. If that’s true still(not always, in my experience), then The Sierra Grille is an exception. Nestled in a nook of Northampton is a place that serves some of the best ribeye steak I’ve ever had(this may not be saying much, by the way). Ribeye steaks are, by virtue of their fattiness, going to be tastier– but the texture, the juiciness, the flavor, and the overwhelming perfection of this steak was a surprise. I opted for no sauce to let the meat shine, and shine it did. I wasn’t crazy about the options for the sides or their execution– the grilled vegetables and the asparagus were basic staples that were done well but weren’t exceptional. No worries, most sins can be pardoned when a steak is as delicious as this one.

My partner and I just visited Sierra Grill for the first time. We came in to support our friends fund raising event being held at the establishment. We ordered off their late night menu and wow there are a lot of options! The fries are heavenly and the duck confit was the best I have ever had. Wines are poured heavy here and they have a lot to choices by the glass. My partner prefers beer and enjoyed a building IPA, which was locally made. The atmosphere was vibrant and cheerful. The hostess was inviting and entertaining, and apparently help organize the event. I seriously cannot wait to come try their dinner menu. Thrilled to have found this gem ! Thank you all again for such a great night !!!

If you’re looking for a nice place to go out in Northampton, I suggest this place. While on the surface it seems classy and expensive, this is the only place in Northampton that has actually impressed me. Food was excellent and well-priced for what you get. Everything was prepared perfectly. Service wasn’t too pretentious. We sat at the bar on a busy Friday night and our water glasses were never empty. The menu, while providing a wonderful array of choices, is set up in a way that you choose a starch and protein and sauce yourself– which took some of the fun out of it and left me feeling less impressed — I like a menu with items on it that are thoughtfully paired. This format would be good perhaps for a pickier eater that likes to mix’n’match menu items anyway. Everything we had was excellent. After so many mediocre experiences paired with stuck-up or flat out lousy service in Northampton this place was extremely refreshing.

The food and waitress definitely deserve 4 stars but I brought the rating down to 1 star because the way the hostess, Christina — with the short hair — treated us was unacceptable and unprofessional. My friends and I stopped by Sierra grille for a Friday friendsgiving dinner. We made the reservation for 8pm but were running late and had every intention of calling the place to update our reservation but it called us at 8:09. We Apologized profusely and showed up at 8:45. Upon arrival. Christina gave me a LECTURE in front of 3 other waitresses about how they normally don’t hold reservations if we’re an hour late.(Why would you ever embarrass your guests like that?) First off, this has NEVER happened to us before where a restaurant hostess has the audacity to lecture the guest about being late. Secondly, the restaurant had MORE than enough seating when we showed up. So it’s not as if she had to «hold» a table for us. Lastly, she was filled with attitude and her condescending tone of voice was uncalled for and, again, unprofessional.

One of the best Meals I’ve ever eaten ! We started our meal with the sweet potato curly fries, which were extra crisp and came with a delicious spicy mustard. Then for the main coarse had the filet mignon With the bacon all gravy ale gravy. The Filet was a perfect cut and cook the right amount of pint and tender for the requested medium cook. Every bite was super flavorful and delicious, For the sides we I a smashed potato with mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes in addition to a grilled vegetable medley that included mushrooms, zucchini, squash, a caret and onions. For desert we had an oven fresh cinnamon bun with baked apples. which was perfectly sweet and gooey. It was was worth mentioning that there was a full bar and the beer menu was superb, full of varied and interesting brews from many small and local breweries. The environment was dimly lit and had a nice classic feel to it from vintage sci-fi movie posters to the classic jazz playing as background noise. The wait staff was very polite and professional. The only thing I can say negative is that the menu is somewhat expensive(2 meals 2 beers 1 app 1 desert was over $ 80 before tip). This is defiantly a special occasion restaurant for the average person. The price is worth it for the delicious meal though. Will defiantly be back.

We found this restaurant mediocre. The pretzel app was not that great and the Mac and cheese app included oysters which the table found a strange mixture(and not in a good way). My salad had no lettuce which I’m not a fan of, just forest mixed greens like they went foraging for it before I came. I also paid $ 11 for shrimp to be added — it came with three. Literally three shrimp. No basic domestic beers either, guess it’s too hip for that…

Sierra Grille is an excellent go-to location for a group. We went the other night to celebrate a birthday. There was a dish for all food needs and the wine/beer menus are excellent. The poutine(while not traditional poutine with cheese curds) are delicious and plentiful. You’ll get enough to share with a group of 6. We all ordered the protein with a sauce. It was a little confusing at first, especially because some of our group was unsure with how the sauces would mix with the protein selected. The staff was excellent and even brought other sauces for our table. The desserts were a hit as well. It can get a bit noisy inside, so if you’re in a large group, just be aware of those who might not be able to hear well. Some of the older members of our group had a difficult time. Also, be aware that they will not seat any of you until your entire party has arrived.

One of(if not the) best restaurants in Northampton. A great place for a fancy date night, or to sit at the bar and have a light supper. Beer selection changes frequently and the bartenders are knowledgeable. Service is always spot on. Favorite include the belgian fries(they’re hand cut, you HAVE to try them), duck confit panini, duck entrée, tuna entrée, and steak frites.

Sierra Grille is my favorite restaurant of all time. The food is, hands-down, the best this area has to offer. The ambiance is lovely, and the service is respectful, down-to-earth, and makes everyone feel comfortable in their fine dining experience. Variety is key to the offerings at this establishment. They always have interesting specials ranging from pub offerings to finer delicacies. The beer and wine menu is excellent, and I love that you can have sampler sized drinks so you can try some different options. The variety for entrees is endless because you select the protein, sauce, and sides… so the menu never gets old! The duck, chicken, and salmon are all wonderful. The smashed potatoes and the asparagus are always delicious as well. The deserts are well sized and affordable. Make a reservation, or stop in and have some apps at the bar. I love the versatility of Sierra Grille. It’s my go-to restaurant for every occasion! Highly recommend! The service here is really great, and does a good job of making food and drink recommendations.

Bartender starts by spraying red wine all over my shirt. Does not apologize or offer compensation. Then gets drinks for ppl who sat down after me before myself. Proceeds to tell me my entre which was listed on the menu is currently not in stock. So angry I’m thinking of walking out. Stay away from the bar.

I am still talking about this meal a week later. It’s my new«go to» for red meat when I’m in town. Outstanding. Everything. It was, hands-down, the most savory filet mignon I have ever tasted. I wanted to tap dance on the piece of meat out of gastronomic bliss while simultaneously bathing in the perfectly balanced sauce. The grilled asparagus was like licking a lollypop as a kid; I couldn’t get enough of it. Dessert: beignets and mocha espresso pot de crème perfectly paired with a Warre’s Otima 20-year port. Why are you still reading this? You should have at least opened a new browser window to check out the menu. Only disappointment(no star loss): we were too satisfied to have an after-dinner cocktail at The Tunnel Bar across the street.
