Some people really like Mimmo’s and probably would rate it a 4 or 5. Good for them, I can understand that POV. For me it’s good, but I have had better(and in Noho). …But I have never met a pizza I did not like — and as a result I have been to Mimmo’s multiple times. So Mimmos is a 3 for me, and 3 is A-OK. There are 3 places to get slices in Northampton and Mimmo’s is 3rd on my list. Again the pizza is fine but I prefer the others(Sam’s & Pinocchio’s). The taste is average at Mimmos and it tastes like pizza should… however, the sizes are huge. The size of slice is Mimmo’s calling card. Size matters but it’s not the only thing… too small is not good, big enough and high quality is the goal — no? Anyway… the service is pretty quick but the service really only falls into the adequate category. I have never had friendly service(not sure if I have seen and employee smile here) …however, the service is always efficient — and really that is all you need. They often cook the slices too hot, so I usually let them cool a few minutes before eating. Besides the pizza(grinders are good(3’s) too — btw) you can only buy oversized water bottles from their fridge or get drinks from a soda vending machine. The place is a total dive but I guess it’s part of the charm. Alt rock /99.3 is playing always when I am in — and that’s fine with me. So get a slice and you won’t be disappointed — I just really think you will not be blown away either.

I like thin pizza with a nice crust. They have that here. If you buy slices individually they are huge and have a nice crispy crust. Customer service isn’t fantastic but most of the employees are young.

I’m surprised this place doesn’t have a better rating. The pizza is yummy! But yeah, I guess it could be because of the«ambiance» so to say. I’ve eaten inside the shop once with my young son; it was hot and there’s not much seating but we didn’t have any problems. The pizzas are HUGE and I feel like I’m getting a great deal. Never had an issue with the employees or anything but that’s just my experience(and I’ve been several times, probably 5 – 6 times). It’s definitely worth a try, just call ahead and get it to go.

When we were in high school a dude named Gutter worked here and word was, if he had it out for you, he’d serve you a «gravel slice» courtesy of the parking lot out back. Owners have changed with the name, I suppose but it’s still the same torso-sized slice that hits the spot when one is tanked. Not good, not bad, sufficient– just don’t look around at your surroundings too hard and you’ll be fine.

This place is great to stop by with a few friends, since we all love the pizza here! Slices are huge and come out literally steaming. You can customize them for 50 cents a topping, and there are a ton of topping options, so there’s a pizza for everyone here.

People love to hate on this place for some reason. Maybe it was bad in the past. I’m not going to vouch for the surroundings. If you are looking for a pleasant time out with someone, I wouldn’t recommend this place. However, the slices are great. They are placed in a very, very hot oven so what you get is a slice that is crispy on the bottom and doughy/gooey on top. To me, that’s perfect and well worth the purchase. If you don’t like the atmosphere, just get it to go.

Screw your fancy pizza restaurant with your Italian décor and your comfortable booths. We’re throwing up a chalk written menu, a beat up cash register, some flimsy plastic forks, and a couple stools. You won’t care though, because the pizza is so good, so hot, & the slices SO big, you’d eat it off the floor if there weren’t enough places to sit. We’re Mimmos and that’s just how we roll.

Guys. HUGE slices of pizza for like $ 3.50 a slice. Piping hot and delicious, straight out of the oven. I’m not sure why I love this place so much but I do. Limited seating however. And they really need to invest in some actual utensils because you can’t cut their pizza with a plastic knife– you just can’t. And you cant pick it up because it’s so incredibly hot and super floppy. I will always eat here when I’m in Northampton though.(Mostly because my boyfriend is picky and he loves this place BUTSTILL it’s pretty good). Oh and make sure you have quarters or some dollar bills because the only way you’re getting soda is out of a machine.

OK, so it’s not the most modern facility. Maybe even considered dumpy. I read in one review — «homeless den», but I wouldn’t go THAT far. Don’t judge a pizza spot by it’s cover, Mimmos is surprising good. NY-style, thin crust, big as f*****g hubcap, GOOD! Less than $ 5 and you’re chowin’. The crust is just how it should be; crispy, but the sauce is actually thicker ! The sauce is just how pizza sauce should be for a thincrust… Not chunky or «hearty», just a well-seasoned red sauce… no BS. A ton of toppings or just cheese, Mimmos has a great slice.

Old school pizzeria serving huge slices. Do not recommend getting delivery unless you like cold pizza but ordering for pickup or planning on walking out with your slice is worth it. Always busy, always good.

Slices are pretty large, but the taste is pretty average.

What the pizza lacks in quality it attempts to make up for in size. The slices are comically enormous. They have cheese pizza already cooked, when you order they put your items on the pizza and place it back in the oven. The customer service is also comical, in an insulting and frustrating kind of way. I went in to order, the place was hot a blazes. I ordered a slice and then paid $ 1 a piece for cans of soda out of the vending machine. I asked the kid behind the counter for a bag to put my beverages in, which apparently angered him. He rudely told me that he didn’t know if they had bags, but he could check. I was a bit confused by his response and his tone. I suggested that perhaps he could give me one of the bags that he just put my to go slice in. This suggestion apparently poked the bee hive even more, he tossed a bag on the counter saying«Whatever, it doesn’t make any difference to me.» Again, both his statement and his tone were a bit confusing. On the positive side, if you eat here you might walk away with an interesting story. Based on some of the other reviews it looks like I was treated with kid gloves.

I’m a total NYC pizza snob, and I think Mimmo’s is fantastic NY-style(thin crust, good amount of melted shredded mozzarella, etc.) pizza. When people write that the slices are big, they are not lying: one Mimmo’s slice is pretty close in size to two slices anywhere else. If I want a slice of fold-in-half-style NYC pizza, this is what I dream about.

Mimmo’s has great pizza with a wide variety of toppings! Good prices for big portions. I don’t eat much pizza but when I do I always come back here. A must try if in the area.

Love being able to pick my own toppings, and getting a yummy slice in the snap of a finger. If you’re looking for a quick lunch, dinner, or to satisfy an evening craving, this is the place to stop. Huge slices and very affordable. Staff are polite and nice. Not fancy pizza, but a place to make your creative cravings a reality.

Giant pizza slices for cheap! Pretty awesome too! Don’t sit inside when it’s raining lol, wish there was a table or two out front!

GIANT slice of average pizza. The place is a total Dive, but sometimes you want that kinda vibe. Great for quick, cheap eats but I wouldn’t come here on the regular. There’s probably better pie to be found elsewhere. But for a long road trip to northern Vermont at 9pm, this slice hit the spot.

Careful when you call and order togo! The menus they have on line, that are LINKED to the website are not correct. My boyfriend and I order a small calzone with 3 fillings for $ 8.75, and also a large calzone 3 fillings for $ 10.25. I was very surprised when I picked up the food and paid $ 34!!! When I questioned it, I was just told they only go by what is written on the wall and they go by the pizza prices and toppings. They said the menus on line are not right and some of them are ‘third party menus’ Lots of unnecessary left over pizza that is just going to get thrown out. And way too much money wasted on pizza for the two of us. Ridiculous. Lesson learned– one small calzone will do the trick next time!

Yes, the slices really are huge. I’ve never seen anything like it. They are the size of a small child! It’s not the most amazing pizza I’ve ever had, but I definitely like it. Saucy, crust on the thin side. The restaurant is casual, where you order at the counter and wait at one of the few tables. Good for late night eats as well as whenever. Also, when I was in there today, I paid special attention to look for the alleged photo of Mussolini on the wall, and the so-called racist stickers and notes on the cash register. I was concerned after other reviewers mentioned them, but I saw nothing of the sort… The only remotely political sticker was a satirical«Mimmos 2012» one. My boyfriend is a Northampton native and been eating Mimmos Pizza for years and has never seen anything like that, so it’s a little puzzling.

Went to Mimmo’s for the first time in a while today– wanted a cheap, sizable slice of pizza. I got that. What I also got, however, was a note taped to the register railing against«Globalization» and, I kid you not– blaming«Arabs» and Mexicans” for taking American money, and claiming that pizza is «the only product still made in the US.» which, judging by the quality of their ingredients, is probably a boldfaced lie on Mimmo’s part. Also, the pizza is not very good and they have a picture of Benito Mussolini on the wall.
