I’ve been to Morocco, and I make Bastilla and baklava at home. Thus I am pretty judgmental about Moroccan cuisine. We had shawarma sandwich, humus, Bastilla and 2 types of cookies. All were solid renditions. Though it wasn’t clear from the chalkboard sign, the Bastilla came with a salad which made me happy because that is so Moroccan. It was well dressed with lots of veggie variety. Portions are large on all dishes.

Still my favorite restaurant. Only request, wish it was closer to my house. Freshest ingredients… Tabouli and Hummus rock. My son loves the lentil soup. Desserts are great too. Staff is friendly. Owner is cool too.

Highly recommend this place especially for the chicken kebab! Seating can be a little congested at times but not horrible. Very pleasant staff and cozy atmosphere! Only downside is them not serving brewed hot coffee especially for breakfast! A Must Visit!

Absolutely delicious food, very reasonably priced for what you get, nice café atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely be coming back here the next time I’m in the area.

Best falafel sandwich I’ve ever had. Had no idea that falafels could be so moist, juicy, and spicy. Tasted fresh and homemade. Great place with diverse menu and hip vibe without breaking the bank. Definitely want to come back to try other dishes!

So I happened to be in this area for a training class through work. On lunch we had 30 min to grab a bite and of course I turn to Unilocal and was instantly overwhelmed with choices. I saw this place and thought that’s different I think I’ll go with this. This is my first time trying any Mediterranean food never mind Moroccan. I walked in with absolutely no idea of what I wanted to eat or even what half of the things on the menu were. The girl that greeted me was helpful and explained some popular items and what they had in them. I ordered couscous chicken and then changed my mind last minute to the chicken kabob… playing it safe. I’m pretty sure it upset her because she went from polite and helpful to making me feel like I was a pest. I payed grabbed a cream soda and sat down. I waited about 10 minutes and another girl came and put the plate down beside me and walked away fast. I said thank you and she pretty much ignored it… awkward. In front of me I had a big pita pocket that was lightly toasted with filling oozing out of it. Sauce was spread on the bottom of the inside with chicken, grilled onion, lettuce and tomatoes. Lettuce didn’t look completely fresh but oh well. I tried a piece of chicken and it tasted good so I ripped off a piece of pita and stuck some of the fillings on top. Absolutely delicious! Like really. If it wasn’t for not so good service they would’ve had 5 stars because that chicken kabob was that great. Wish I would’ve had more room for some of the cookies/pastries displayed across the counter because they looked very appealing. This definitely won’t be the last time I go out for Moroccan food!

Pleasant atmosphere. Food was good — vegetables were a little over-done, but the meat and grains were delicious.

I had the Tangine Shoosh(goat) which is pretty darn good in my books. Seems like an establishment that would marinate and slow cook their meats for hours and hours and hours to get them tender and even some of the petite bones were chewable at that point!

LOVE Amanouz. Always feels like the food is fresh and tasty. Enjoy going here when I get the chance. It’s got great quality and the food is made quickly. Have gotten delivery and eaten in, and always found it flavorful and fresh. And I’ve eaten authentic Moroccan food and have no problem with the quality or taste here.

Best food in Northampton(so far). I feel like Unilocal ratings in the area are a bit inflated since across the board, restaurants are not… amazing…they’re fine for a small town, but I would have expected more from Northampton. A bunch of places are 4 or 5 stars in relation to Northampton, but might be 3 stars in other places. Anyway, this place is the first I’ve stumbled into that’s actually legitimately really, really good. Place this anywhere in the world, and I’d still give it 5 stars. Will definitely be back!

Anyone rating this restaurant highly has clearly never eaten authentic Moroccan food. No spice, no flavor, no smell even! Sorry for those who believe they are getting the genuine article, and sorrier still for those who think they are getting good food.

This meal was the best meal I have ever had. I made a Unilocal account just to give this review. I had musaka. I ordered the sandwich with a side of rice. They knew what I wanted better than I know myself. The musaka was over the rice with hummus, tahini, and hot sauce. It was SOFLAVORFUL! Delicious eggplant. I will be driving 40+ miles to Northampton regularly just to have it again.

Best falaffel I’ve ever had. So crisp and light and green. The standards were good,(hummus, tabouli, lamb kebab, moussaka) they lacked the harsh lemon I’m used to and so were more mellow and comforting. Thw only star off is because The prices were slightly high for the type of self serve they have, but it’s hard to beat the New Haven Mamouns.

Loved the lamb kabob sandwich and mint tea! It came in a adorable pot with cute glasses. I wasn’t crazy about the baclava though.

My fiancé picked out this place for a lunch date. Man, was he spot on with my taste buds that day. I had just got off night shift, so I needed to something to wake up my senses. This place did the trick. I have never had Moroccan food before this. It’s a small area. You order your food at the counter and they will bring out your plates once it’s prepared. The food is made rather quickly, which is rather astonishing, because it tastes so awesome!!! How can something so good be made so quickly? There is silverware to the side of the counter, if you are looking. I was absolutely amazed at the flavors. I got a couscous dish with veggies and lamb. It was so delicious. I loved every bite of it. The lamb was tender and just melted in my mouth. The eggplant, which I did not expect, was the best surprise for me, I absolutely love eggplant! We also got a fresh mint tea. It totlly woke me up, so refreshing! He totally scored points bringing me here. I will need to stop here again in the near future!!! Num Num Num!!!

It was a cold raining dreary day and I was in need of some Moroccan comfort food, I was hoping to have a cup or bowl of Harira to start but sadly there was no Harira that day. I ordered Couscous, lentils, with lamb which came with potatoes, corrots and green pepper, it was positively delightful. The lamb was mutton like but cooked to a proper tenderness, preserving a nice deep rich lamb flavor as well as very tasty gravy to cover the couscous. Hot sauce was served on the side to kick up, if that was your desire and it was. This was my first time there and it was a very positive one, I will certainly return to explore some of the other items on the menu.

Today after looking for a place to have breakfast in Northampton that didn’t have an hour wait, we decided to try out Amanouz. This was a great choice and we were pleasantly pleased by the breakfast. We split a Turnip Green Omelette, Mediterranean French Toast, and Scrambled Eggs with Lamb Sausage. All these choices were delicious, and we were amazed at how unique the homefries were. They were seasoned with curry and other delectable seasonings, and it was great to have an omelette made with organic eggs. The other surprise was that they used Portuguese muffins as toast, and this was a great addition to the meal. Overall we can’t wait to go back to Amanouz because this place had a great atmosphere and polite staff. The only downside was that they didn’t have any ketchup or hot sauce, and this was a bit of a deal breaker for me. That being said, this little restaurant is amazing and needs some credit for their amazing cooking.
