We just stumbled upon poor daddy’s. The food is great. Large portions. I had jalapeños cheddar sausage. Just the right amount of heat. My sister had ¼ chicken and ribs. Which was also great. Usually bbq places have lame sides. Their side were very good. We had loaded mash potatoes and Mac&cheese. We will definitely come back

My daughter and I ate here recently. We had the sliced brisket which was very flavorful. Served with a slice of bread. The pinto beans were delicious but just a tad too salty. The ranch potatoes and mac n cheese were good. Peach cobbler was perfect. Service was very good. I will definitely go back.

If you love ribs, not like, but love, this is the place to go. The right amount of smoke. Thick meat St. Louis style ribs. The sauce really isn’t needed, but it is good for dipping the toast in. Friendly people work this joint. Quiet, clean, hometown feel. I love smoking my own ribs for hours. When I don’t have time, I come here because they don’t cut corners. Pit style ribs a pit master can appreciate.

I love this restaurant. Keep up the good work. I’ll be retuning for a third time. I got the two meat plate so I can have leftovers for tomorrow. I got the Mac and cheese, green beans, sliced beef and a chicken breast. I like the fact that you can chooses between white and dark meat when it comes to the chicken.

We’ve been to Poor Daddy’s four or five times and here is my take on it. The sliced brisket is consistently moist tender and flavorful. The ribs have been tender and juicy all but one time. The chicken is really good as well. The pinto beans, potato salad, green beans, and coleslaw are excellent for my taste. The barbecue sauce is good too. Real Good Classic Texas barbecue!

I eat here almost weekly because of the proximity to my workplace. The staff are always friendly and will make you just about anything even if it’s not on the menu. Thursdays are my favorite day to go in for a bite of the jalapeño sausage and they also at times test out new meats but the out of all the tests the green onion sausage was when they had it.

Driving up to Poor Daddy’s, my first reaction was that this was going to be either really good or really bad… and not to my surprise, it was really good. I had a rib plate with mac and cheese. Both the ribs and the sauce were delicious as was the mac and cheese. The staff was pleasant, smiling and helpful… and the service was very good. I am going to make it a point to make return visits despite the distance from Addison and I will give my recommendation to anybody that will listen.

I can’t even remember a time I had better BBQ! This place is amazing. All the sides are homemade. All meats smoked out back! Family owned and run. Friendly people and very fun place to hangout.

A tasty owner operated restaurant nestled along Hwy 26. Quick service by ordering in line as you arrive. We came in early so there was not a crowd. We had the Special — sandwich, side, drink. It served up a large sandwich and a heaping side dish. Serve yourself drink dispenser. Common with BBQ restaurants was a condiment table. The meal was plenty large. Service was quick and efficient.

I had the ribs, cole slaw, Mac and cheese and tried some of their sausage. The Mac and cheese and cole slaw were 5 stars I would come back just for that. Their sausage was also delicious, a little spicy and not to greasy. I would order that next time I go to this place. The ribs were about two stars. While they were fall off the bone tender, but they were also flavorless. I personally like to eat my ribs without a lot of BBQ sauce. The ribs were also not served to me hot, they were luke warm at best. My friend like the ribs, I actually traded my ribs for his sausage. They also serve coke in bottles here, another plus for coming back. Their whole cut french fries were delicious. I would come again but I would not order their ribs ever!

Delicious bbq! Was out of my hemisphere and used the Unilocal app to find a place in this area. So glad I explored out of my realm! The ladies working were very helpful and able to get me all the meats I wanted. Brisket very tender with a nice smoky flavor. Chicken was also just as tender and falling off the bone. And the sausage. Delicious. Smoky. Tender. If you like family owned bbq I’d recommend this place.

We ordered ribs, ½ chicken, mac and cheese, and beans. The ribs were dry. Mac and cheese was bland. The beans, though they had pulled pork and seemed to be loaded with BBQ sauce, were salty and blah. The chicken though… oh the chicken was juicy and packed full of flavor! The chicken is what gave my rating 3 stars. The place inside wasn’t clean. So that knocked down the rating to 2 stars.

Awesome customer service ! And great food ! BBQ is soft and tender perfectly cooked I say! since I like meat that partially falls off! Bread on the beef sandwich is light and soft not hard /chopped beef was good hits the spot! Above all Great place to eat and enjoyed a real taste of old fashioned BBQ

Good stuff. Not great, but definitely good. This is east Texas BBQ style BBQ. I’ve been twice so far and it’s pretty close to my job. Small place, maybe about 8 or 10 tables and booths to sit at. Ordering is cafeteria style, then you pay and sit and enjoy your meal. Condiments and sauce are next to the drinks after you pay. Fair prices, so no problem there. I tried the ribs on my first visit. Good color, no bark to speak of really but the outside was a think dark good smoky looking skin. They were fall off the bone if that’s your thing. On my second visit, I tried the brisket and hot link. The hot link was fine ground and had a nice red casing to it. No memorable flavor, but it reminded me of hot links I used to eat when I was younger. I think I like Earl Campbell’s links a little better. I asked for moist brisket, but I think I got some flat instead. Was good, but not what I prefer so I’ll pass on the brisket next time. Ranch potatoes are kind of bland, so won’t be getting those again. BBQ beans are good, not much sauce in there which is OK by me. Default bread is a piece of buttered Texas toast. All around it is a decent place. Ribs special on Wednesday and I think that’s the only reason I’ll be back.
