Decent but overpriced. Menu is deceptive about pricing, especially pertaining to «Lunch Specials.» We ordered«Two lunch special teriyaki’s» for which the menu said was 9 $ each. However when the bill came it said 13 $ each, and the staff and manager politely said«Sorry it’s past lunch special hour.

I am very disappointed in my experience today at Sushi Sake. I had only ever dined in and today I ordered take out. When I called they gave me the total which seemed a bit high because I knew one item was on sale for happy hour. However, I wasn’t sure if happy hour was for dine in only. I walked through the door and there was a huge half door sign that said happy hour for dine in and carry out! It included said item. I went to pay and noticed a small handout with the same advertisement. I asked the person ringing me up why my item was still full price, and he told me it was dine in only. I showed him their flyer and he quickly said oh, well it’s dine in only and that was a misprint. He then would not look at me and rung me up full price. I know I should have asked to speak to a manager, but I am extremely nonconfrontational and didn’t want to make a scene in front of other guests. Of course when we get home to eat the portions of the chicken in the chicken teriyaki we also ordered was extremely small(especially when I have had the same meal dine in with 3 times as much).

Free Sake and Happy Hour special sushi?! Count me in! Sushi Sake takes its name from the very core of what they do best. That of course being the aforementioned, Sushi… and Sake… As you walk into this beautifully designed and well planned for space dining room, you are greeted by the friendly staff and chefs alike. We happened to go on the Thursday — Free sake day, also, during the Happy Hour special pricing for Sushi. Being our first time, we wanted to try some of both; and we were impressed. For free, with the purchase of a meal or happy hour deal I am sure, you will receive a very generous portion of each of their(3) Sake offerings. I believe there was a peach, a melon and a mango. All served chilled for what it is worth, but all were a little sweet and full of flavor. Sure you should only have certain expectations when something is free like this, but I do say that even for a price, this would be a worthy drink. The sushi on happy hour was also noteworthy, as I had a California roll, boring as many of you may feel, I had to try it, and my Fiancé had a JB or salmon with cream cheese roll. Both were very tasty and of course freshly made right in front of us. All is all; we really enjoyed Sushi Sake and plan to go back, either again on a Thursday, or any day to try new things.

I don’t see how they can call themselves an authentic Japanese restaurant. I was going to place a to go order and wanted a side of Mirin(an essential ingredient in Japanese cooking) and the waiter looked at me like I was an idiot as did the manager. They were just not friendly and didn’t seem to care. I left because I choose not to support restaurants that are uneducated and arrogant. I’ve never posted on Unilocal, but as a culinary graduate, professional restaurant cook and private chef it just really annoys me when restaurant teams are oblivious to the cuisine they are serving.

Really was excited to try this place. We received an advertisement at our home for their sushi and happy hour specials and could not wait to check it out. Upon arrival everything seemed very comfortable. The prices unfortunately we’re a little high, but I was still curious and ordered two of their signature rolls along with a pint of Sapporo. Needless to say the Sapporo was delicious. The rolls were decent. One was actually good, but there was something that bothered me about the sushi and that was that the fish was noticeably warm. For not being a cooked roll, this was a little concerning and upsetting. I also ordered the seaweed salad from here which was actually very good. Luckily there was a couple who walked in and sat in the booth next to me that struck up a conversation. They said that they always just come for dessert since the wife was pregnant and always craves the fried ice cream with banana. She was eager to share and upon trying it I could see why! It is delicious! After this experience, I decided to give the sushi another shot. I came in during happy hour and ordered nearly everything on special and a different signature roll. The appetizers were decent, though the sauces that came with them very thick and heavy. But once again the fish in my rolls(both the signature and the spicy tuna) were warm. So as of now I’m still on the hunt for some great sushi in Miami; and if I do return here, it will definitely be for the dessert!

Do not waste your time or money on this Sushi Sake location. The quality of the food has went the from the time they started. Drive down the street to Sushi House or Pei Wei for better food and service. I’m sorry I had to write this review, hopefully this review will prompt Sushi Sake NMB to straighten up.

I’ve eaten here a few times and honestly the quality of food just isn’t good. The fish seems not fresh the fried food is undercooked and I hate paying $ 80 for shitty food. DONTBOTHER!

Food is really good and everything is fresh. Sushi rolls are awesome especially their spider rolls. AND they give you cotton candy which is pretty good at the end of your meal lol

The location is very convenient as it’s located in a well populated shopping center. The restaurant is clean and the service was pretty good. However, I wasn’t very impressed by the food, the rolls were kind of smaller than I had expected especially the rice and the teriyaki dishes looked unfinished. They serve white rice with chicken, that’s it plain and simple. Forget about getting vegetables or a salad with your entrée. I’ve definitely had much better!

This is one of the worst sushi places I’ve been to. Service was terrible! Not just one but two waiters didn’t even know the happy hour specials for the day, and once they proceeded to tell me they realized they were telling us about the wrong days special. Sushi was subpar and the food took forever even though it was not busy that day. Waitress dropped soy sauce all over my friend and didn’t even bring out extra napkins to clean the mess. Unilocalers, seek elsewhere to fulfill your sushi cravings in Aventura!

Average quality fish. Attentive servers and management. Odd timing from the sushi bar. We arrived before two tables who received their sushi before us. Never waited that long for sushi either. Could be because they have a seemingly big take out business. We had white tuna, white fish and snapper nigiri. The white tuna was ok the other two were decidedly bad cuts and old’ish. You know that dry, mealy, crunchy texture you get on fish when it’s old? Yep, that was it. The spicy tuna hand roll was super spicy which we love, not sure the average person would though. Very thinly sliced fish with gigantic pieces of rice for the nigiri so you probably won’t leave hungry and the rice is nicely cooked, smooth with just the right amount of sticky. probably wouldn’t return bc the value to quality isn’t there.

The food here is average. I had the Tiger Roll which comes with eel sauce. I opted out for the eel sauce, but later requested it. They still charged me for it. I prefer Sushi House NMB.

I love rice and I’m such a greedy person when it comes to it. So I went and ordered the pineapple rice bowl with no pineapples I don’t particularly like the idea of sweet rice with chicken shrimp and steak. I must say there was more chicken than shrimp and steak combined. I’m pretty sure next time I can ask for more steak and pay extra. I didn’t have any alcohol but I had the lemonade and it was everything. I will definitely be back.

My fiancé and I are Sushi Sake customers of various locations. We are obsessed with their Chicken Teriyaki, Gyozas, and now Calle 8 sushi roll. I’m in love with the sauce used for the chicken and even put it on the rice. As for the Calle 8 roll, we are not into sushi so we decided to try this roll. It’s topped with a piece of plantain and potato stix. It has a ham croquette with a few other things. You should try it if you’re not into sushi. Check out my pictures!

I love their chicken fired rice and salmon and cream cheese bagel rolls. Good service ok waiters. The waiters needs better training on how to treat their customers, but overall I’m addicted.

We had a great experience, from start to finish. I did hesitate in the beginning because it look a bit pricy but the bottom line it was worth it! We place an order over the phone for delivery, the delivery arrived on time and the food was DELICIOUS. Everything was fresh and testy. Highly recommend

I’ve been coming here for years and even though is somewhat expensive I tend to come once in a while. I am so upset we ordered a shrimp fried rice and it ONLY brought 3 pieces of shrimp! I called and spoke to the manager and all she said was«it’s a better deal if I get the special fries rice for $ 12» are you kidding me? That’s horrible!!! The sushi is good but their customer service really sucks!

Last night I had a sushi craving and Unilocal came into my rescue. I must say, this review is just for the food, since it was pick up only. I had the Avocado and the Veggies rolls, and aged tofu. Great flavors, I must confess. However, while waiting for my order to be ready, I noticed that the staff is not the most professional you can expect for a place this expensive. The waitress was not friendly and when I asked her about their veggies options she had no clue. She looked at me like I was from another planet. Thank God it was a take out order, otherwise, just for the service I would give this place 1 star.
