This place is amazing. The food is consistently fresh. And it’s a small nice family run restaurant. Best thai in Miami hands down.

What a little gem this place is! I’ve driven past it many times and never gave it a second thought until I started hearing people from all over Miami and Miami Beach talking about it. The food is the real deal… Healthy and spicy(or mild if that’s what you prefer). The staff is very nice and patiently answers any questions you might have. Don’t forget to save room for dessert… Thai donuts — my first time having these but it won’t be my last!

Julian and his wife run the best Thai food in town! There’s nothing like supporting local businesses so when I needed food for my boyfriends bday, this Saturday I knew just the place! Thai Fried rice — perfectly cooked rice with fresh vegetables, Steak Pad Thai is a hearty portion of yummy goodness and the even though the veg springs rolls are fried, they dont have that greasy taste. Other good options are the soups! My favorite is the Tom kha Gai. Didn’t get it for my boyfriends bday but that’s because he doesn’t like Coconut. The place is small so if you go on the weekends there might be a wait so be sure to give yourself enough time so you do t get hangry while you wait.

The best Thai cuisine I’ve had! And the best part about it is that it’s super close to where I live. As our appetizer we ordered(apologizing in advance if I spelled it wrong) the tom khai khai soup which was even better than the soup we get at some other Thai place we go to on 163rd. I absolutely loved it a really recommend it. As we ate our soup our waitress kept coming back to see if we needed anything else and kept refilling our waters which for me is a Major key! Anyways, our dinner was fantastic… We both shared a beef Fried rice and red curry chicken!!! We will definitely come back for more.

My boyfriend and I have eaten here several times. Actually, we got take-out — so my comments are mainly about the food, not the service or the restaurant itself. Cashew tofu/cashew chicken — my favorite dish. It’s consistent and cooked the same way every time. Great flavor and lots of cashews, which I love. Green & red curry — a little salty — but overall great flavor. The portion sizes are large enough that you will have leftovers, and it tastes just as good 4 days later. They will make the curry more spicy if you ask. Ginger tofu — excellent. Mild but full of ginger flavor. Light and healthy. Basil duck — I was disappointed with this, unfortunately. Crispy but very dry. I wouldn’t order this again. Stick with rice-based dishes. Overall — I would eat here again. I wish they were open for lunch(they are only open from 4−10pm and closed on Sundays). Most dishes are rather good. Prices are about the same as any other Thai restaurant. The owner answers the phone himself and makes an effort to please his customers. I had a positive experience and will be back.

It was good, I came here with my hubby while I was pregnant. So I recall everything was fresh and delicious. We had their spring rolls with spicy curry dishes. I couldn’t complain only thing is a bit pricey for a plain place. Nothing up scale but clean and good.

Yum! I wish I lived closer to this place. Definitely the best Thai food I’ve ever had! The stir fry is delicious as well as the pad Thai and curry chicken. Omg and I’m obsessed with the tom khai soup! SOOGOOD! Last night I also tried their Thai donuts for dessert… Amazing! And the Thai beer was delicious too. Definitely recommend this place for some good, authentic and fresh Thai food :)

Thai all around, and not a noodle or grain more of anything but perfection! Ricky Thai Bistro is your quintessential mom and pop slice of goodness. The storefront situated in a strip small in North Miami right on 125th street is tucked away that makes it look smaller than it really is inside. Still though, seating will get a little tight in that there will be crowds for this taste of goodness. You enter and are greeted immediately, which is always a plus, and are given a colorful menus which spells out all their signature items well. They show you how you can easily modify the level of «hotness» and they will take out MSG or sodium, should you want as well. I had a tofu with rice curry dish my first time out and I plan to try something different the next time. My fiancé had the Pad Thai and as well loved it. She will write her own review I am sure. All in all, I have huge positive remarks as the flavors are wonderful and the pricing is truly modest for the great quality they bring to your plate.

We came here solely based on the Unilocal ratings and sorry to say… we were completely bamboozled. I’ve been eating Thai food for years and years and one of my favorite thing is the Duck Basil. That’s what I ordered here and it was such a complete let down. Take a look at photos and you be the judge. Credit the server for taking off the Spring Rolls for the dissatisfaction but they should have taken off the duck. Anyway…maybe you’ve has a better experience than I.

Very shocked, planned the close of the day to eat here. Close of the day indeed. U sit at windowsill and wait wait wait wait the smart ones rush in, grab takeout and leave! Perhaps not that smart or discerning. At our 1st bite, «oh God, this is terrible!!!» Nothing wrong, per se, just terrible recipes. Unfortunately we had vested our planning, parking and time. This is prepared better in the kitchen at home. Early TGIF wasted

I was here about a year ago and we liked, it but tonight the food was ridiculous. The Fried Duck with Basil… perfectly crispy… crispy duck fat? Please, I’m in heaven. Comes with the Basil sauce on the side in a bowl owith perfectly sautéed veg and a separate plate of sticky rice. Oh yeah. The green papaya salad comes with crispy pork and a bamboo basket of sticky rice. We will be back… very soon… with others…

Ricky Thai Bistro is the true definition and embodiment of what a «hole in the wall joint» is and should be and I loved every single detail of the entire experience. From the rear parking and backdoor entrance next to the single unisex restroom as the grand entrance, to the seating capacity of 20 and street appeal of nonexistent. It is establishments such as this that teach us to not judge a book by its cover and take risks when it comes to dinning and try something new. Once inside, you will be sounded by locals, regulars, and true foodie fanatics and understand why this place is still standing after 5 years. If you didn’t know where you were going, you could easily drive by and miss what I may go as far as to say is the best and most authentic Thai food in all of Miami. There, I said it and it’s a very well deserved statement. In America, we have so many American versions of Thai and Thai style/Thai inspired cuisine that not only finding a restaurant to serve the authentic version is tasking, but I was quickly reminded that I have been so caught up in the Americanized Thai game that I forgot what the truly authentic dishes were and more importantly, the true flavor profiles and spice levels. Authentic Thai Lesson 1: Spicy means SPICYYYY! True authentic Thai doesn’t have this American watered down version of «Thai spice» level we are accustomed to. If you are«spice sensitive» steer clear of any menu item with curry paste. You can ask for the curry items to be «mild» but since it’s authentic Thai curry that is used here, I don’t think any amount of coconut milk can truly make anything«mild» and if it did, your Thai flavors will be completely drowned out. I had the Green Curry with squid, it was delicious but I was quickly reminded I’ve been on the American Thai spice whimp train. Authentic Thai Lesson 2: Thai means Thai, not Japanese, not Chinese. It’s authentic Thai, with that said, the menu is limited, why, because it only has the authentic Thai menu items and not this laundry list of quasi-authentic items with«Asian» items that Americans like. Ladies and gents, sorry to disappoint, you will not find miso soup on this menu or your coveted edamame, and that’s because, newsflash, those are Japanese, not Thai. Hey, you learn something new everyday. Don’t expect to come here and get some good olé’ American iced tea either, they don’t have it. Embrace the Thai! The green tea was delicious. Authentic Thai Lesson 3: Where to find the best Pad Thai Ricky Thai Bistro! The Chicken Pad Thai here is the best Chicken Pad Thai I’ve ever had. The portion was massive and the ingredients were very fresh with a price tag of $ 12. The dish was not spicy at all and would recommend to all. Excellent entry level to Thai for any newbie. I also had an order of spring rolls and they were gone in 60 seconds, highly recommended them. Sadly, I was so full I didn’t make it to dessert but the Thai doughnuts looked delicious. Our service was excellent! The service was so great, I almost forgot I was in Miami. Our server was extremely attentive and very passionate about Thai food. It was so refreshing to have a true foodie convo with our very animated server, I can’t even recall the last time I did that. If you can get past the décor and accept the fact that you are in a hole in the wall joint, you are in for a real treat. I’ll most definitely be back, I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. Ricky Thai Bistro, you are now my «go-to» Thai place.

I have a soft spot for family-run businesses, and a really soft spot for delicious, soothing Thai food. Lucky for me, I went to Ricky Thai with four very hungry friends — I recommend you do this because it is impossible to choose only a few dishes to recommend. We ordered wings — crispy with a sweet dipping sauce(I loved them with the dry spice mix sprinkled on top), and the green papaya salad with sticky rice to start. The sticky rice felt unnecessary to me until I overdid the dry spice and then I was grateful. The panang curry was a favourite, drunken noodles super yummy, and pad Thai had a depth of flavour I haven’t enjoyed anywhere else. Never thought I liked pad Thai, but I was fighting with my friends for the last bite. The broccoli with beef also had loads of the sweetest carrots and was another favourite at the table. The duck comes crispy, with its sauce and veg on the side(we had the basil sauce and loved it). It was well done… I would have died and gone to heaven if it was served medium. I didn’t think I could eat anymore but luckily my friends are regulars and knew it was stupid to turn down the donuts. One serving was enough for us — ten teeny, fresh donuts served with a sweet sauce, crushed peanuts, and whipped cream. If I’m being honest, I wanted to have all of them for myself.

This place was recommended by a few foodie friends, so it was only a matter of time before we made our way to try yet another Thai restaurant. The restaurant is small, clean, and simple. The service was great, we ordered as soon as we got there and the food took maybe 15 minutes to arrive at our table. I ordered pad Thai and my friend had the curry. Both plates were delicious, fresh, and very flavorful. I have to admit though, I am guilty of going twice before reviewing, so the following is what I had on my second visit: Basil Thai shrimp(AMAZING!), chicken curry, and Thai donuts. Again, the food was delicious and very fresh. the service was great; everyone was very friendly and happy to help. I would definitely recommend this place if you are by the area.

Tasty fresh food and cold Thai beer(Singha). Place was packed at 11 pm: always a good indication. You have to park on the back street, but can also enter the restaurant from there. The duck curry was amazing and crunchy, and the sauce had a great coconut and chilly combination going. The pad thai and spring rolls were also great.

Man, the food here is so good. The restaurant is owned by Julian, and Italian guy, and his wife, who is Thai. The menu is exactly right: a lot of Thai classics, not too much to choose from, and all of them absolutely perfectly executed. I have had probably 10 different dishes here and nothing is bad… the Pad Thai is some of the best I’ve had, and the red and green curry are both perfection. The service is friendly and it definitely has a «mom and pop restaurant» vibe. And again: wow. The food. The flavors. Best Thai in Miami.
