Stopped in to check this place out. Bought a loaf of the cinnamon chip bread– excellent product. Didn’t have to wait to be checked out. If we were here in the morning I probably would have tried one of the tasty looking scones too. Chatted with the owner a bit– I like the idea of a rotation of bread offerings. Will certainly be coming back. UPDATE: Went back and grabbed another cinnamon chip and a Vermont Cheddar Garlic loaf… FANTASTIC. The product quality is high and consistent– and boy is it good! We’re considering foregoing the weekly bread purchase at the grocery store and getting one here(I tried a more«normal» bread on my second visit and liked it).

I love this place so much, I’m currently taking a vacation from it so as not to ruin it. I work in the area, and am always on the lookout for a quality lunch, and this place is the spot. Their bread? Don’t get me started. I’m pretty sure I have a gluten addiction, and as much as current science and cultural views are against it, I LOVE white bread. Great Harvest has the best white bread I’ve ever had. However, I love all bread, and every type I’ve tried from here is amazing.(Not sure how often they make it, but they also have HUMMUSBREAD). They make amazing sandwiches here. I say sandwiches like I’ve ever gotten more than the same one. I’m a creature of habit, and their turkey and swiss just speaks to me on a spiritual level. This place could put cement in between their bread and it would taste amazing, too. Do not skip over this place.

I haven’t been here in quite a while even though its in my back yard. Im quite angry right now. I came in with my son to get some breakfast sandwiches that he got the previous week and raved about it. clearly the kids working are not understanding health protocol of the RI Dept of health. never…touch money, cards ect then continue to make sandwiches with same gloves on! Huge issue! Needless to say. i just threw out our sandwiches! Next on the list. the kid s casing you out. the other making sandwiches after getting other stuff rang out. to find out the limited sandwich menue. has no roast beef? Poor comunication! Then i down grade it to bacon egg and cheese. different price. i requested the difference to find… the menue boatd prices are NOT accurate by over 2.50! The staff dont inform public of the difference? Nor is the CHALK board changed to reflect accurate prices! All the way around poor! I will make it a point to address this with the owner. staff need to be health trained properly!

Wanted a quick sandwich and saw the good reviews here. This is probably the only break/bakery I’ve been to where it doesn’t smell like a bakery. Where’s all the bread being made? I can see the girls putting loaf in the slicer but where is the awesome smell? Anyways, only a few choices of sandwiches and nothing exciting either. Just from the 2 slices on my sandwich, I can’t tell that the bread is any better than the grocery store ones. Yes I’m spoiled in California, the«cali» sandwich here comes with very unsightly guacamole spread instead of avocados…

I really don’t have enough stars for this fabulous place. I am a low carb eater but every now and then I avail myself to a treat. On the recommendation of a dear health conscious friend I managed to enter into this glorious carb palace. The ingredients are wholesome, healthy even. The staff is terrific and I must say without a doubt the salted caramel cookies are straight out of heaven. When I fall off the low carb bandwagon I indulge in their Dakota bread and the salted caramel cookies. Run don’t walk to this terrific establishment and try their amazing and healthy products.

Get your bread here. Period. Baked fresh everyday. Great selection. Sandwiches are also wonderful. Stuffed with local and fresh ingredients. They even had a chalkboard which tells you where each ingredient is from. Many are from local farms and business. Huge fan of that. Coffee is ok. But it’s a bakery not a coffee shop. Atmosphere is ok. There are a few places to sit. But it’s the bread. It’s all about the bread.

I was in a hurry and stopped here to grab a sandwich. Holy cow, the sandwich was out of this world, loved it — real albacore tuna on a grain bread. Loads of freshness was coming out of this place — I think I even heard a man order a paleo muffin — so clearly they are catering to a diverse crowd! I would definitely go back and recommend.

I completely love this place! I get all my bread there for two reasons: it’s delicious and prepared locally. Also the honey they use in their bread acts as a natural preservative so the bread lasts a long time, unlike the breads I get elsewhere. Everything they make is delicious, and the sandwiches are a wonderful alternative if I’m lazy and don’t pack my lunch. Their coffee is likewise good. I cannot say enough good things about this place — I’m in there at least once a week, usually twice. The staff is attentive and friendly also. Recommended: Honey Whole Wheat, Nine Grain, Cheddar Garlic, Spinach Feta, Roast Beef sandwich, Louisville Chicken Salad Sandwich. Also their PB cookies are out of this world.

The bread here is something unlike what you typically find in RI. People here love their italian bread, and rarely veer from that. Enter Great Harvest, offering dense breads chock full of nuts, grains, chocolate, fruit, you name it. A welcome excursion from the usual bread options around here. The people who work here are always friendly and welcoming, and get you hooked on their breads(and sweets) with the insanely generous samples they offer. My husband literally received ½ a cinnamon bun when offered a «sample» — holy cow! The sandwich options are really tasty. We got some sort of turkey sandwich with avocado, chipotle mayo, etc and we were both floored. Delish! Only thing working against this place is it doesn’t lend itself well for a sit-down eating session. There are a handful of tables, and they weren’t the cleanest either. I can see this being more of a place to grab a great sandwich and be on your merry way.

Great Harvest’s building is quite dull and strip mall-y, but the bread and scones are delicious and the people that work there are very friendly.

I wish the rating could register half stars, because this place is really nice. The business is in a small strip mall that is typical of the Quonset area. The building seems new, I didn’t recognize it when my friend took me there. I really needed coffee today, and it was too nice to not go out. The inside is taken up by the bakery/preparation area which is open and like an old style bakery with the service wall taken out. It looks clean and stocked full of equipment as well as areas to display the baked goods. The wall to the right of the counter is occupied by a huge board with interesting facts like the NASDAQQUOTES, a top ten list, specials and other sections making it a bit busy but kind of neat if you want to keep yourself occupied as you wait for your sandwich assembly. We were greeted by a young dude who was nice and informative to a certain point. My friend bought 2 loaves of bread — Hi-5 Fiber and Honey Whole Wheat and asked for them to be sliced. Unfortunately the slicing machine had been blessed with this guy’s blood and had to be sterilized and that wouldn’t happen until later. Still the counterman told us he could slice them by hand and he did an excellent job of making equal slices for each of the 2 lb. 2 oz. loaves. Nice heft to the loaves with a solid tooth. Considering the loaves are each $ 5 each(that’s what my friend told me,) and she had a BYGOF coupon: a worthwhile deal. She’d also gotten a hot coffee but didn’t indulge in lunch. I ordered a Louisville Chicken Salad Sandwich on a focaccia loaf. The sandwich came with red onion, tomato and romaine lettuce.(I found this out by looking up their menu online, very convenient when planning your order before hand. the counter is small and extra work like sandwich making and other bakery activities can keep the counter person busy much to the annoyance of people in line.) The one thing that creeped me out a little was the fact that they added salt and pepper to their sandwiches. Although I didn’t notice a difference in taste, considering the health issues now a days I don’t know why they’d add salt. Whatever, I didn’t complain or ask them to omit it because I didn’t notice it on the board above the counter where they listed the different types of sandwiches. They had samples but I wouldn’t have known they were samples if it weren’t for my friend. Behind an acrylic window were a maple oatmeal scone(strange looking scone, looked like a fat cookie,) an oat berry muffin, and something that I mistook for a scone that I’m assuming was a raspberry white chocolate chip muffin. My friend a friendly extrovert asked for a sample and was given a very generous section of the scone and raspberry thing. She asked me if I wanted my own. I didn’t, having worked in a bakery as a teen I don’t crave most bakery goods although I appreciate well made baked goods. I nipped a piece of her samples. I liked the raspberry sample more. Both of the samples were not overly sweet. The density was thick but not heavy, not too moist and not too crumbly. The scone was not as light as I come to expect in scones. No big deal. I was happy that the maple flavoring was not over powering like a punch to the nostrils. The sandwich was what I consider rustic. The bread hand cut a bit thinner than texas toast, substantial and flecked heavily with what was maybe onions. Very nice. The chicken salad which was described as a basic salad with spicy pecans that were kind of sweet, was basic and very effective in it’s simplicity. The pecans were sweet but not sickeningly so, the chicken salad had a decent amount of spiced mayo enough to make a gooey filling in the sandwich but not so much it was overly sticky. You could feel the chunks of chicken but not get chunks of pecan caught in your teeth. Really good. Now the coffee, which was special in every way. I ordered a large coffee. This is unusual for me, I usually only finish a medium in the best of times. I’m not a coffee fan. The coffee was some kind of smooth brewed iced Hazelnut. No bitterness, no overpowering strength like the Turkish brew my Mom makes.(She says it’s the Alsace Lorraine type that her paternal Grandmother brought from the old country.) The special part, when I drank enough of the coffee to notice that the ice cubes are also made of coffee. My heart went aflutter. Yeah, I’m cheap. Mostly though I hate to see waste. And with a weaker brew, ice makes the drink even more pathetic. I drank the WHOLE cup, waiting for the ice to melt and adding a bit of cream and sweetener and shaking as we caught up on our personal lives. The BEST cup of coffee I’ve had since Bess Eaton died. There are many selections of baked goods here. They have a separate board/take out menu that tells you which goods are made which days. If you want something specific I’d go online and pre-plan or call and ask for what they offer. It would have helped if they had a take-out menu for their sandwiches. They only have a few tables inside.

3-stars because the place isn’t officially open… will change accordingly when I get a chance to actually eat there. I stopped by wanting to check out this new North Kingstown eatery. They were not opened yet but the owner was there preparing the space. He was handing out coupons for a free loaf of bread and had a pan of brownies out for people stopping by. He was super nice and you could tell he liked talking about his passion for baking. Opening has been delayed but I cannot wait for a new place to eat in this dismal town.
