Wooden Nickel has always treated us with respect, fast service, and kindness. Not only do they have a firm grip (ha ha) on their equipment but they are prompt to respond in full. If you follow their preferred rental procedure it is about as easy as it gets. Big shout out to Kristen for ALWAYS being friendly, taking care of us, and making sure we have everything we need. And also to the guys in the back

Just go to Wooden Nickel. Whenever I need equipment I go to them. Great guys over there and great prices. They know their stuff and they have almost everything you could possibly need.

Best prices is Los Angeles for small productions when an entire grip truck is out of the question. If you don’t have production insurance they will still rent to you and add a premium to the rental cost.
The staff is very knowledgable. In addition to answering any policy questions clearly they answered my technical questions and gave me some good advice. Even if one of the employees was not terribly polite I got the answers I needed. Don’t be afraid to ask.
Looking forward to renting from them again. I wish I had a rental house anywhere nearly this good closer to Southbay.

Been going to Wooden Nickel for over 10 years, when I first started film school. Now many years later, I am repeatedly going here at least once a month. The staff is friendly and most of them know me by name. I love the quality of grip and electric gear, they have exceptional quality control, so you are getting top of the line gear for an affordable cost. They simply have the best deal in grip and lighting. Also, they are now renting walkers, which is an added plus, it saves me a trip. Stevie, Nick, Rachel, and Joe always provide great service with a nice hello each time I go.
It can get crazy busy on Fridays since they are the best, so plan ahead.
