The food is mediocre. The service is awful. I waited 15 minutes for a waitress and then 25 to get my check. It wasn’t even busy, not many customers. Will I return? Nope.

Says it closes at 10 but come to find out they close at 9 today. Really need to update the Unilocal hours. I’m glad I got to walk up to the door and find it lock, had one of the waiters look at me from the inside just to walk away. Guess they don’t want me money, I’ll take it else where.

Since it was National Margarita Day… of course I had to go to a Mexican spot! First time trying Mucho Mas for happy hour. Apparently they don’t really have a happy hour(1 star off). Only thing discounted were the margaritas which would have to do for tonight. Had the peach and strawberry… both of which were pretty good. Not too strong but that’s where the«brown bag» comes in. Ask about it if you want to get buzzed for cheap. Had to take off a star because service was kind of slow. For it not to be packed, I would expect to see the waitress a lil more. As for the atmosphere… quiet, calm vibes here, family place.

this has become my go-to mexican with booze in my neighborhood. the only downside to the place is the teeny-hard to even get in and out– parking lot. service has always been good, quick, and friendly. they have a full bar and usually have a special, but there is no drink list in the menu, so don’t bother looking. the food is always tasty and there is always way more than i can ever finish and for a great price.

First off, I give all restaurants 5 stars because I do not want to hurt their business. I’ve been going to Mucho Mas for over 10 years and lately things have not been the same. This is a note to the new owners. I’m not sure why things have changed, but things are not so great. I used to LOVE the guacamole. Unfortunately the last 2 times I was there it was obviously in the fridge too long and was bland. ALSO, the margaritas… please teach all of your bartenders to make them the same way? Jeez, your a Mexican restaurant! Tito used to make them perfectly. Now each time is as if your getting a new take on a margarita. New owners, please get it together. Several long time patrons have felt the same way as I do. I’m going to give Mucho Mas another few tries, but if things don’t change even a little bit, this Italian guy is moving on. Best of luck and I’ll see you soon:)

Being raised with nothing but home cooked Mexican food my entire life, I recognize a good authentic plate when I see one. I’ve been here twice and both times I gotten the exact same thing because it was so delicious! 3 item plate. Chile relleno, Chicken enchilada, carnitas taco, rice & beans. Drool!!! Their margaritas are also tasty. Customer service is top notch. Patrick our waiter was very attentive. Finally I have found my new go to Mexican spot.

Easy to pass up but don’t! Most people know my love of Los Toros in Chatsworth, Ca but I will say the food here is pretty on point. If you want good Mexican food stop here.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to eat. We drove by this place but never dropped in. Tonight we did drop it. It was great. Not super crowed and the food is AMAZING! They give you salsa and chips when you are seated. The price is good for amount of food you get. They have their own parking. It’s not super big but you can find parking. I recommend this place to anyone looking to try something new. They also have a bar if you want to stop by for a drink. I will be returning. Great job Mucho Mas!

Here’s the breakdown: Atmosphere: Cute place, pop music, lack of parking, but plenty on Whitnall Hwy. Chips & Salsa — Okay, nothing special. Tortilla Soup — Bland Margaritas — Watery. Seriously, like ½ shot of tequila w/water and a splash of sweet sour on the rocks. I am not exaggerating.(And in a rocks glass, not a margarita glass). Beef Taco/Chile Relleno combo — very tasty, although the taco is small. The highlight of the evening and thus the two stars. Beans — Tepid. Service — Efficient but rushed, not particularly friendly(but in fairness I could see other wait person’s who were). Summation: I’ve tried it. Don’t need to go back.

I love this place. It feels like home to me. I have been going there for over 20 years now. The tortilla soup is my favorite ever. The service is good along with the atmosphere and staff. I try to hit this place everytime I go back. Thanks!

I’ve been here about 5 times. I will not come back to this restaurant again. The food is delicious and I love the atmosphere of the place. The service is terrible. My family and I got treated progressively worse with each visit. On one visit I tipped the bus boy because he was the only one that seemed to be of service. On my final visit I was seated in the bar area. The service was so bad that 2 other patrons besides is got up paid for our drinks and left. NOMAS Mucho Mas

I love the bartender here. She pours heavy and makes a mean spicy margarita. The sopa de albóndigas is Bomb.

Chips and Salsa: On Point Getting stoned before eating: Mandatory Parking: Worst ever service: slow slow slow They need to step it up for the price being moderately high we have waited for 20 min with empty plates The interior décor is conflicted, it seems as though it hasn’t found his identity. This should be a one $ place not $$

The carne asada here is AMAZING. Plus it comes with additional sides, and the service is excellent. It’s a must try experience.

This is some white people Mexican food right here. If you are nostalgic for the Mexican you used to have in 1987, or somewhere in Indiana, by all means, go ahead. Otherwise, there’s far better options in LA. Mostly, it’s just goopy food that they give you piles of, because it’s cheap to produce. Of particular grossness was my friend’s chicken tostada, which due to the sauce, ended up with too much soupy lettuce. Blargh. No one else’s food was particularly tasty – not even the chips con queso to start. Oh, and watch out for parking on the street, because the wires above are home to a clan of pigeons. I didn’t get pooped on, but it was a distinct risk.

Came here based on someone’s recommendation. I only had a chicken salad but it was very good, a lot of meat and a nice aesthetic. Very good prices: around ten bucks an entrée. It was good food, authentic Mexican and the service was very fast. They even gave us the remote so that my boyfriend could watch his game. Free parking and an old, family restaurant. Could maybe handle a make over, especially outside. It’s a really pretty sitting area but it faces a parking lot. Bougainvillea, vines or even a fence would help. Only complaint: brrr! Turn the air down, we shivered through lunch on a hot day.

Finding this place in a search was easy, getting here was not. Parking lot is really narrow so beware of the fancy car parked next to you if you’ll get door dings or just cannot get out of your space to leave. This restaurant has a full bar with TV screens and games to watch. Outdoor patio for a bit of fresh air while you dine. Chips and salsa out right away with water plus your drinks. Maybe I’m a little particular about my Mexican food but it all could be the same, I know. This place with the food, it was mediocre. Rice sucks but the beans were good, tacos were just something deep fried and enchilada was just there. I ate it because I was hungry. Oh well… There is something to be said about the salsa even though it looks puréed rather than a chunky freshly chopped salsa you normally see at some places. It was more of a medium spicy so don’t try to play if you’re weak sauce. That salsa was like hamburger helper to these tacos I ended up finishing. Service was ok too, the waitress did check up on us a few times and we asked for refills a few times. Prices are slightly under $ 10 so after tacking on tax and tip, you should see this as $$ above in the information next to the address. I think it’s one of those places I can say, I’ve been there, let’s try a different place.

We live in a world of instant gratification where virtually everything is delivered within seconds into the palm of our hands or to our front doors. Even thus, we are still spoiled into wanting more. More, more, MORE! Never enough! This new way of modern life is difficult for eateries to contend with, in hopes of offering ‘more’. Luckily, Mucho Mas(translate and you will see my connection) offers more: much more! Mucho Mas is a staple Mexican restaurant on the North Hollywood/Burbank border located near a field of electric generators. It doesn’t sound like the ideal spot but the charming outdoor exterior of Spanish architecture(NOT in a cheesy way!) will make you forget any qualms. Once inside, a positive energy instantly hits you. There is a lovely mix of a familiar environment with cultured flair. By this, I mean that the interior includes rustic wooden beams and Latin décor in the style of a historic missionary. It sounds juvenile but Mucho Mas does it quite well. The dining areas are sort of circular in terms of the building layout with high ceilings and large, bright windows. Meanwhile, a bar is available for your alcohol needs plus an outdoor patio area. Service started off on a perfect note. Mucho Mas was instantly on the ball and very friendly with chips and salsa arriving in seconds flat and drink orders taken. Let’s talk about these chips and salsa, shall we? The chips were warm and home made(I’m talking you could see corn kernels in the chips!) and the salsa was perfect in flavor with some fresh chopped tomatoes(I prefer this style to the pureed salsa). We ordered a Raspberry Margarita(blended, no salt) while waiting, to share. The presentation was a bit«meh» served in a simple glass but it was quite delicious not being overly sweet or watered down(some places serve an overly slushy-fied concoction with too little alcohol). For our meals, we browsed the pages of delicious menu options(and WONDERFUL prices!) and ordered the Shrimp Scampi Acapulco(shrimp sautéed in spices and a white wine sauce, served with avocado and a lemon wedge — $ 13.95) and the Enchiladas Tapatias(two tortillas dipped in a tomatillo sauce, stuffed with chicken, topped with more tomatillo sauce, jack and cheddar cheese and sour cream — $ 10.15). Planning to share the dishes, we also opted for Albondigas Soup over the salad as sides and I substituted veggies for the beans(as all dishes comes with beans and rice). The soup arrived super fast(Mucho Mas definitely plays to the instant gratification!) and was beyond excellent. The broth was more veggie than tomato based as some others I have had while chunks of carrots floated along side super soft and tender meatballs. Our dishes arrived rather quickly and were BEAUTIFULLY presented. The ingredients were fresh and colorful and well placed versus slopped onto plates. Not to mention, the serving sizes were large and will bust open the waist of most pants. Everything was excellent with superb flavors. Even the rice, which one would think to be plain, was a feast(and I usually don’t eat rice). The main hit? The Shrimp Scampi! Holy Jesus, I have died and went to heaven! Mucho Mas does not skimp and overloads with large and numerous shrimps, onions, and mushrooms in the best sauce, ever! Sop the rest of the sauce up with tortillas and you will die happy. We decided this is a permanent dish for every return visit and I have already been craving it daily. A must try for shrimp lovers! My only complaint was that I assumed my veggies would be steamed and Mucho Mas instead gave me the veggies used for fajitas and they were dripping in oil. On a sidenote, I heard that Mucho Mas got a new chef and/or staff. If that is the case then perhaps it is the reason why there are some older, poorer reviews and I suggest a re-visit. Mucho Mas delivers on all aspects: price, portions, quality, service, and ambiance. It has definitely become my favorite Mexican restaurant; one which I would take anyone to who requests this style of food. So, if you always seek«more» and are never pleased; head to Mucho Mas. They will scratch that itch.

Insanely greasy and unhealthy meals if you’re committed to future heart bypass surgery. Drinks were strong, might help thin blood & clogged arteries a little bit. Waitress was bewildered when we asked for veggie enchiladas. No substitutions. Nunca mas, Mucho Mas. Adiós.
