This is my goto spot for a healthy quick dinner. Really good sushi and teriyaki bowls. All white meat chicken bowl with brown rice is enough for two people at times.

Sadly, this place has gone downhill. It was okay a year ago, but now it looks dirty, the rice is hard and old, tempura overdone, salad dressing watery. Teriyaki chicken is okay but tastes no different than the frozen bag at Trader Joe’s for $ 4.99. I think it’s so important to support local businesses but this one needs owners who aren’t just phoning it in. I hope an edible spot moves in soon.

I had a meal break from work there. Nice little shop with great Japanese food for a reasonable price. Beats any chain restaurants. I can’t wait to try the rest of their menu. The bad thing is that they have no restroom for customers.

I’ve ordered platters of food to serve 8 people from there twice. The staff and service there is always great, It is a Korean family owned restaurant. They make the food fast, an order of eight 10pc rolls and five other dishes took a half hour for it to be ready for pick up during the lunch rush(other restaurants who would take 1 – 2 hours for the same order). It is also cheap compared to other sushi places in the NOHO/Burbank area. The food is quite filling but there are a few downsides: some of the ingredients don’t seem as high quality as some other sushi restaurants, the takeout chopsticks are very VERY cheap and splintery, and their roll selection is limited(had to order rolls without shellfish in it for someone, we could only really get them a tuna or teriyaki rolls could fulfill). Overall I would recommend for someone who is looking for cheap sushi in the neighborhood.

Great prices, fast service! Although I would enjoy more variety and an easier way to access their menu, I do enjoy their food and friendly service. Great little family place!

Hans BBQ Teriyaki Box #1 Chicken teriyaki #3 Beef teriyaki #4 Beef ribs teriyaki Under $ 10. I request for an extra side of hot sauce to dip my chicken in. Sweet and spicy. Not a fan of the side salad that comes with the box. I don’t want to eat milky lettuce. The chicken teriyaki tastes great, if you eat it all the same day. They give you a buttload of chicken too. If you can’t finish in one sitting, the next day you will have some dry a$$ chicken. Free parking is around the back. Service is friendly and fast. Accepts CC. 3.5 stars

A small shop, 18 interior seats, some seating outside. There is A/C but so weak as to make little difference — this is the valley after all! That said, the friendly service, hot and tasty food, good-sized portions and decent prices make it a worthwhile stop. I ordered a beef sandwich, asked what kind of beef? Ribeye. Ordered! My guest ordered chicken teriyaki plate. Hot, tasty, gone!

5 stars!!! We love this place… it’s our new hidden gem! Right in the middle of everything, but a little off the beaten path if you know what I mean… Tons of specials! We usually get the number 9 and the 56. the number 9 is a bento box with 5 pieces of california roll, chicken teriyaki, rice, salad, miso soup and tempura… the 56 is udon and spicy tuna. All the food is fresh and made to order and you can definitely tell! The service is amazing and the little lady behind the counter is just the sweetest. Hans– I wish you were open Sundays, but I’ll look past that since the 6 days a week you are open your food is consistent and you truly believe in service with a smile! :-)

3.5 stars. This place has good food and even better service. It’s a family owned place, the lady who works the register is really nice, friendly and gets your food out fast. I’ve been a few times and some of the food is just ok otherwise I would give it stars. I got the chicken lunch special one time and the chicken was a little dry. I’ve had the crunch roll, it’s pretty good it just it tastes like fast food sushi but definitely worth the price of $ 5. My favorite thing I’ve tried here was the Unagi & Avocado bowl $ 9. Their teriyaki sauce tastes right and the rice is on point to make this hit the spot for lunch. The food is great value too, you get a good amount for the price which I like. Tip about this place, they get busy during lunch so if you are on time crunch, be sure you call in and it will be ready when you get there. My one complaint about this place is that it tastes great while I am eating it but I think it makes me feel bloated? or I just feel like I ate it for the rest of the day if that makes sense. If this didn’t happen I would eat it a lot more often because the food is delicious and well worth the price. Definitely try this place for lunch if you are in the area and craving for asian bbq.

I am such a fan of this place. I went here for lunch and it was great. Plenty of food for the cash. If you go during peak hours you might have to take it to go since this is a hole in the wall. I mean that in the best possible way. It is a great lunch stop for fresh food. You can even get the frequent diner card and your 9th meal is on them! It makes it a goal of mine to eat here a couple more times. If you are in the area, have a healthy appetite, then stop here. Enjoy.

I liked their boba chai tea it’ s nice to know I can enjoy a boba now when my kids are playing baseball since the field is right up the block!

Hans BBQ is a solid spot. Cane here to get pick up. We ordered the bento box. One chicken and one beef. The girl said the food would take 15 min but it was ready in about eight. Even though we were ordering for two, we got four boxes to go as two soup to go bowls. The miso soup was average and the tempura was huge. Eating the tempura and soup was almost enough to fill us up. The California and tuna rolls were nothing to write home about, but the teriyakis were good. It’s a good spot to hit up for a fast meal.

I went to the NBC Studios, which is located on the back lot of the Universal Studios Complex. My friend and I hadn’t eaten lunch and was desparately seeking to find somewhere to eat. We found Hans BBQ. The restaurant is located on Lankershim, right outside of the Universal Studios back lot Gate 3. We walked into the restaurant and found a 1950’s inspired restaurant — complete with mint green walls, old style(1970’s) style seats and tables. There is a good selection of quick-food offered here. Prices are average(ranges from $ 6 — 12). I ordered the 3-piece Kal Bi plate. The dish was supposed to be served with three WHOLE pieces of Kal Bi(3 ribs, LA style). Instead, I got a dish that had cut-up pieces of kal bi. I’m complaining because this dish was in the ~$ 10 price range, and you could have ordered the«cut up» pieces for $ 3 cheaper. I opted for the whole pieces because I didn’t want leftover pieces of meat. The dish was served with about 2 cups of rice and about 2 cups of romaine salad with some kind of white dressing on it(tasted like watered down mayo). The kal bi was grilled, then a thick teriyaki glaze was put on it. It was not properly marinated. Grade: C– My table mate ordered the Teriyaki Chicken plate, which was the same amount of rice and salad, served with about 2 – 3 grilled chicken thighs, cut up into bite sized pieces, then smothered in the thick teriyaki glaze. Grade: D This place is crowded and frequented by individuals with tons of gang-inspired tatoos. My table mate and I felt a bit uneasy in this place, so we ate about ½ of our meals then rushed out. My last complaint — the young lady who took orders and payments(appeared to be the owner’s daughter) has a nose ring, which is positioned like a bull nose ring. Guess it was just me, but it was a bit distracting and made the food unappetizing. To me — the employees should exemplify the type of service and vision of the restaurant. I was a bit turned off and lost my appetite. Food Grade: D Service Grade: B Worth the Money Grade: C– Overall Impression: D

Between this place and Chula’s(Mexican place next door), I have two excellent and affordable eateries about 140 yards from my house. Chicken teriyaki plate is about as much as one really hungry man can stomach in one sitting. It’s incredibly tasty and only about $ 7 – 8 with tax. A more reasonable person could easily split it in two meals. And the salad is nice greens and cucumbers, so it’s definitely not the worst thing you can eat as far as health goes.

OMG! I(capital L) Love Hans! I stumbled upon Hans BBQ because of it’s location, which is really near my new place. I figured I’d give it a try, but I didn’t expect it to be anything special. So when it was special, I felt completely blessed. Actually, I don’t think i can finish this review right now… because I’m having some really mouth-watering thoughts about their salmon teriyaki and I need to figure out how to get some of it at 10:30 on a Sunday night! Oh, just a note, they’re closed after 8 and all day Sunday.
