At best it’s mediocre, uninspired Chinese chain food. The people who work there seem nice enough, and I don’t have anything against mom and pops, but I feel they could do better.

I absolutely love this place. It’s not a fancy place by any means just a quick stop for some delicious Chinese food. I have been coming here for about 15 years since I was a kid. I love the chow mein it’s unlike any chow mein I have ever had. It’s thick yummy and full of flavor. The rice is awesome. I always get rice, chow mien, orange chicken, and egg rolls and top it off with Sriracha. The orange chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It’s been over a decade that I have lived in the area can’t stand the Valley, but if I’m ever in town I always make it a point to stop here. I wish this place was in NY. :(As far as the negative reviews go, pay no mind to what they say this place is truly a gem.

I’ve eaten here several times over the last few years mostly because its inexpensive and you get a lot of food. Its not great quality and there are only a couple of items I would even eat. The main issue I have is several times I’ve gone by and they were closed even when the sign says they should be open, I’m not talking a few minutes I’m talking another hour or so. On other occasions they have been out of my favorite of their items and asked when more would be ready and the owner said he wouldn’t make more just for 1 serving. He insinuated that I buy what they have then just walked away. Okay, so I’m a slow learner I guess, but no more. I’m done with them. Nice way to run a business. Way to take care of your clients.

So this place is janky as F*&K. Its a run down little hole in the wall Chinese place in a strip mall in North Hollywood. JANKY. AS. F&*K. I’ve been coming here for at least 15 years since I was a kid and it’s just super greasy and delicious and cheap. Ok so the CHICKENSTICKS(sometimes they call them chicken kebobs) are out of this world. Theyre basically these over cooked, teryiaki sticks of chicken(I’m pretty sure it’s chicken) and they are wonderful. I always get a few. You can get a three item combo for like $ 7 with rice and chow mein and 3 items. You can’t afford not to go here! Seriously tho, the seseme chicken and orange chicken are great,(throw some sirracha on there for good measure) and the mushroom chicken and beef and broccli are legit. Serously, go grub.

Absolutely horrible food. Even for low-quality Chinese, this is bad. Completely flavorless, horrible texture, old meat, oily and gross. I asked for Chicken Fried Rice, one of my favorites to eat on its own. The cook went into the back to make some for me since they didn’t have any in the buffet set-up. He only took a few minutes, so I was a little worried — he combined old, hard, mushy on the outside fried chicken with no flavor, with white rice and maybe FOUR total pieces of frozen pees/carrots, in some canola or vegetable oil. No additional flavor, it isn’t even worth eating it’s so bad. I also ordered some of the broccoli beef, since fried rice rarely comes with enough veggies for me. The beef is just gross, it’s mushy on the outside and has a weird consistency on the inside, and flavorless. The broccoli seems fresh and flavorful, but after paying over $ 10, and having only 5 pieces of steamed broccoli, I’d say NEVERGOHERE. They don’t care about quality of food, and they’re completely uninspired. Service is kind of lame, it’s always pretty empty too. One star because I didn’t get food poisoning.

I’ve had carry out from here twice. Both times I had Kung Pao Chicken and both times it was delicious! The prices are great and the portions are generous. This is my new local go-to place for Chinese food. Plus, it’s conveniently located in the same plaza as Ralph’s.

Ok, so we’re not talking about P.F. Chang’s here. This place is exactly what you’d expect from an establishment that serves Chinese cuisine from under a heat lamp. You walk in, point to a couple of items, and walk out about five minutes later. I come here all the time, but that’s primarily because I can walk here from my apartment. I’m not going out of my way to eat here by any means. The food could be better, but it could be a lot worse. The lo mein is a bit on the chewy side, and the rice is a tad dry, but the two dishes I tend to get the most, orange chicken and mushroom chicken, never disappoint. The thing about Fortune that stands out is the portions. They practically shovel the food into your box, and I’ve never finished a meal from there not feeling full and satisfied. Sure, you’re going to get a better tasting dish from Panda Express, but you’re going to pay a buck or two more and get a few ounces less. Bottom line, if you’re in the area and want Chinese in a hurry, give ‘em a shot. Try coming earlier in the afternoon for lunch when you’ve got a better shot at getting something fresh out of the wok.

TERRIBLE. Everything nearby(Subway, El Pollo Loco, the nail salon) was crowded last night but I was the only one stupid or hungry enough to eat here. Big Mistake.

The absolute worst Chinese food I’ve had. Some of the entrees are sub-par, but many are truly awful. Many of their fried proteins consist of literally 90% breading, their sauces taste like syrup, the short ribs are beyond tough, etc. There is no care put into the food. And though it won’t be reflected in my rating(I can’t go any lower than 1 star) the owner is very inconsiderate. Literally the worst food I’ve ever paid for. avoid this place!

This place was empty so I came in. The food looks good but the quantity was small. Rice was ok orange chicken was good. Awkward when I ate in cause they were just starring at me.

I hate wasting food, I hate wasting money even more; this place made me do both! My girl went here to get us food for dinner because it was continent after shopping at Ralphs, baaaad idea. The only decent thing about the whole meal was the stale fortune cookie. She got me some combo something. Some sort of meat couldn’t tell if it was chicken, beef, cat.? with vegetables some other mystery meat with vegetables(I love meat, eat it every day and I couldn’t tell for the life me what animal either of these dishes came from by appearance or taste). I asked my girl what she got me she said the lady at the counter said it was good and spicy, neither of which was true. The fried rice was dry and tasted like cardboard. Imitation rice? The chow mein was sweet, not sure why? And the vegetable egg rolls literally squirted oil into your mouth when you bit into them. after about 10 combined bites from the two of us we ended up throwing everything in the trash and making a frozen pizza. such a waste, I would of given the leftovers to a homeless person but they deserve better than this. not happy! ZEROSTARS!

I really hate to give a one star rating, especially for a local mom and pop, but this place really has crappy food. They really need to examine the quality of the food they are serving. This place makes panda express look like a 5 star bistro! What they pass off as chow mein is not even close. Its like thick spaghetti noodles soaked in orange grease. Their chicken and beef dishes are all soggy and flour-y on the outside and dry and tough in the middle. I have tried this place twice and regretted it both times.

It’s a strip mall Chinese order-at-the-counter joint with the basic dishes — orange chicken, beef with broccoli, chow mein, fried rice. Tried it despite the bad Unilocal reviews because they had an «A» rating from the county, and the place seemed clean enough. And I didn’t feel like walking all the way to Lotus Vegan. Two people were eating there when I walked in at 1 p.m. on a Saturday. I ordered the mushroom chicken(tasted OK, chicken was breaded in cornflour, and I think it spent too long on the buffet), chow mein(thick, starchy, sweet noodles with bean sprouts and shreds of cabbage) and steamed vegetables. They had to cook the steamed vegetables to order, so they were hot and fresh and I only had to wait a few minutes. Whole thing set me back $ 10, more than I would have expected to pay.

It has a «B» rating and serves«C» level food. Panda Express is way better. Pork, chicken, beef… it’s all cooked the same way! I’ve tried it so you don’t have to. Pass it by!

I dont recommend this place to anyone. Go to Subway. So me and my girlfriend went there to eat after walking at North Hollywood Park. I ordered chow mein which looked like orange spaghetti noodles, beef and broccoli and mushroom chicken. The only thing I found a taste was on the chow mein. The other 2 sides were old lamp heated crap. I decided to ask them to make me some fresh sides since burned black mushrooms are not my thing. The girl cashier asked the manager who was the cook. He was like NO! You already ate the food and expect the fresh? I told him look I didnt eat the beef and broccoli or the mushroom chicken so chill(since that was a stomach ache waiting to happen). He didnt believe me so I threw the food in the trash can and left. I was really pissed off and seriously if it were not for my girlfriend I would have thrown the food in his face. BOTTOMLINE: Dont go there but if you must tell them you will wait for the fresh.

Was in the area and looking for a quick in and out place for dinner when I came across Fortune Chinese Fast Food. Fortune is like any other Chinese fast food. Here they have about a dozen options to choose from with most of your standard items such as Kung Pao Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Sweet and Sour Pork, etc. Nothing that they offered seemed out of the ordinary. The place is good size and can probably sit about 15 — 20 here. Prices are average. You’re looking around $ 4.50 — $ 6.50 depending upon the combo you get. I ended up getting a combo 1 that came with a 50⁄50 Fried Rice and Noodles with the Kung Pao Chicken. Bought a coke and headed back to the hotel for dinner. The food was a major disappointment. The noodles were super greasy and overcooked. The fried rice was basically white rice with frozen peas and carrots added to it. The Kung Pao chicken, it was spicy but half the chicken was overcooked and hard. The only thing is they were generous with the portions and I got a fortune cookie for free. Bad experience and would look elsewhere for fast food Chinese food. 2 star rating and a definite skip.

It was almost 9PM on Friday night and I was getting a little famished. I didn’t know what the hell I felt like eating, so I stopped in this little place instead of the usual subway next door. I don’t know if these places should be called Fast Food or Delis. It’s an interesting concept. Kinda like a buffet but you don’t get to come back. Like a wam bam get the hell out! The server lady was kinda pushy or overly helpful. She liked to put words in my mouth. I got there kinda late so there was not much to choose from. Orange chicken, beef broccoli, fried rice, lo mein, or chow mein(west coast thing). They filled my togo tray up with all of the following and put a couple of old eggrolls to send me on my way. I saw the good old rooster sauce on the way out so I asked for some hot sauce. She gave me some packets and said it was the same stuff. I got home and found out that it was not. It was more like Tabasco but it went good with the orange chicken, it made it taste like boneless buffalo wings. The rest of the stuff was kinda eh, well, it did stem the tide.
