I live in Florida and searched for days to find a local LA bakery that would deliver an amazing cake for my friend’s birthday. I read an article about the Top Ten cake bakeries in LA and Cake Monkey was #2 so I thought it would be too high end or out of my price range to deliver a cake to the valley but I gave it a shot. Lisa was amazingly patient with all of my questions and specifications on delivery by a certain time, adding a gift message and was just so kind! If you haven’t seen the website — it’s sooo amazing that I couldn’t believe my good luck when I realized that it was not only affordable but they would meet all my crazy requests. Haven’t received the cake yet — but I know it will be amazing… I am just so grateful that Lisa, owner of such a well thought of bakery in LA would be so kind and take my little order over the phone — did I mention that I live in Florida? Thanks Lisa and Nicole — for everything! Amy G.

Summer camp chocolate chip cookies are to die for! We ordered them along with Rolios and Big O cookies for a party In our home. Everyone raved about all the treats! We had additional summer camp cookies individually wrapped for goodie bags. The staff did a terrific job having everything well packaged and ready when we picked them up. Thank you Lisa and your staff for helping make our party a success

What yummy delicious treat. I have not been to the actual store, but was lucky enough to get a Lil Merri: Oatmeal Cookie with Maple Vanilla Cream. I’m always a fan of food that has whole, simple, natural ingredients. There’s nothing but pure goodness in this cookie. Like something from home: flour, oats, sugar, butter, eggs, maple syrup, baking soda, vanilla extract and salt… THAT’s IT. I can’t wait to try more of their selections.

This review is for their shipping via Goldbely. We just got a box from a client, and it is all stupid good, and showed up beautifully packaged. Shout out to the chocolate peanut butter cakewich. This is excellent for my New Year’s diet.

I’d rather spend Thanskgiving with their honey braised pumpkin tart than my boyfriend and I’m only kind of kidding. It was 8PM the Sunday before Thanksgiving and I decided I wanted to bring a pumpkin pie to my boyfriend’s family’s house. I browsed through a list of bakeries that all required you to order it by Saturday. But thankfully, Cake Monkey’s orders had to be placed by Monday before noon. I called the next morning and a very helpful lady reassured me it wasn’t too late. I think she could hear the panic in my voice. It was ready to be picked up by the next day in the afternoon! A little over 24 hours of a turnover time during a busy holiday for a Thanksgiving-themed cake is extremely impressive. As was the cake itself. It was sublime. This had the best crust I can remember in my long history of eating cakes. I could eat an entire cake just made of the crust. Amazing. The marshmellow fluff was beautifully toasted and designed(important for those who don’t want to Instagram the typical turkey photo). The flavor of the pumpkin filling was amazing and this is coming from someone who isn’t a pumpkin fan. I think I’m a convert. Catch me sipping on PSLs from now on, until next Thanksgiving when I 100% plan on ordering another Thanksgiving-themed pie from CakeMonkey.

We ordered two pies for Thanksgiving and were very disappointed. The butterscotch pie had a very, very sweet crust. The butterscotch pudding was the best part. The apple pie filling was like quince paste and the crust was not very cheesy. Parking at the North Hollywood store is very sparse.

Cake Money created 15 delicious strawberry cakes for each of the 15 tables at my daughter’s wedding. The cakes were centerpieces with fresh flowers(from Butterfly Florals) on top of each so they were beautiful as well as amazing to taste. The people who helped us at Cake Monkey were so extremely kind and helpful since we were having an outside reception in warm weather. They advised me on the best icing and size of cake for being outside, and they delivered the cakes as close to the reception as possible! People raved about the fresh, delectable cakes. My new son in law agreed and went there recently for my daughter’s birthday cake – again a hit! I love these people as much as I love their cakes. They were personally warm to us when we had a tragedy that postponed the original date of the wedding. Amazing quality of people as well as cakes.

My partner and I used Cake Monkey for our wedding. We called several places prior to calling Cake Monkey and were told we’d need to book a cake months in advance(??!). Lisa from Cake Monkey was able to schedule us a delicious cake tasting the same week we called. We ended up ordering a larger Huckleberry Forest cake and a smaller Vanilla Gorilla cake, as well as several gluten-free sandwich cookies for our gluten-free friends. Throughout the process Lisa was very friendly and professional. She showed up to deliver our cake right on time, and the cake was a HUGE hit at our wedding. Would recommend Cake Monkey again to anyone. Thanks, Lisa!

This is not a separate storefront — but they carry Cake Monkey products at various cafes and restaurants and you can order cakes, etc. in advance. I have had a variety of cake monkey treats over the years and I feel like it’s finally time for a review. Cake Monkey is ONPOINT. I have had delicious croissants, monkey bread, cake cookie thingys… and have loved them all. Right now, I just finished gruyère monkey bread. Yummmyyy. Both the breads and cakes are good. I have also tried their muffins and loved those, too. If you are at a coffee shop carrying Cake Monkey products, I highly recommend getting one with your coffee. Their prices are reasonable and I am so happy they carry them at Moby’s coffee shop in Burbank. My jeans aren’t as happy though(because they are tight).

been on the hunt for Cake Monkey sweets for a while. ive been trying to make it over to Olive and Thyme to sample some, but today i was picking up pizza at Pizza Rev in pasadena and behold… cake monkey desserts. this review is based on the only 2 items i was able to try. the chocolate cookies and the cakewiches the chocolate cookies were good. moist and semi soft. big chunks of chocolate. they were good, but i would still rank them below Portos chocolate chip cookies. the knock on them, was they werent $ 2.50 a pop good. the cakewiches, basically a ding 3 or 4 bite size ding dong. picked up a plain back & white and a red velvet. i guess im just not a huge fan of red velvet. cake was moist but i wasnt a fan. i guess im just a purist and the cream cheese in a ding dong just doesnt do it for me. the plain black and white was good. same knock. was it $ 4 a pop good? the best way i can describe it was of course you can taste the difference between a cakewich and your run of the mill hostess version. however i think id rather bay $ 3.99 for a box of ding dongs. yes they were probably made a few weeks ago and have been sitting in the packaging, but its not far off from the freshly made cakewich. i can best sum up the 2 items as underwhelming to average at best. just not worth the $$$$. im a firm believer in sometimes you definitely get what you pay for, but i wouldnt say that about the 2 items. i want to try their cakes and pies to hopefully update this review, but i dont think i will be going out of my way to find cake monkey cake or pie soon.

Loved having their desserts at my wedding. It was so awesome to have several different types of desserts to choose from. They were definitely a hit among the guests. I rented the platters from them as well which turned out so lovely on the table. They arrived promptly to my wedding and the dessert table was so beautiful. I would recommend Cake Monkey to anyone getting married who wants a fun assortment of desserts!

I first saw Cake Monkey on the Food Network about two weeks ago and knew I had to try their cakes and cookies. When people say good things about Cake Monkey, I personally think they are delusional. I’m not even sure if I should be writing a Unilocal review, because you do that only after you tasted their food. I haven’t even had the chance to taste anything that they have. Everytime I get in the mood to order, one way or another they tell me they are unable to fulfill my order. I have called and tried on four seperate occasions and have not been successful. It doesn’t help when they are not a traditional bakery. You have to call and order a pie or cake 48 hours before you want it. In 48 hours I’m not even sure if I’m going to crave the same same thing, let alone a cake or cookie. This is by far the worst experience and worse customer service that I have recieved.

Cute packaging. Cute logo. Ok flavor delivery. Someone treated the office to some cake monkey pastries and they were a little underwhelming. Good, but underwhelming.

Butterscotch Pie! Creamy, crunchy, salty, sugary, a complete explosion of deliciousness that is sooooo wonderful! My sister-in-law treated us to this for Christmas Eve and it IS as good as it looks! If you’re a fan of butterscotch like me, those round hard candies were my favorite growing up, then you MUST get a piece, or two, of this obnoxiously good pie! We tried a few other sweet treats too, coconut cake and one other… Everything was super, but that butterscotch literally made my mouth water.

The same customer who just loves to make me a fatty on Fridays surprised me with some ding dongs! She said originally that Cake Monkey is located near the Hollywood area, but a local pizza joint was selling them! She does her research to find the best sweets… swear. We had about 3 chocolate ding dongs, and 3 red velvet raspberry ones. Honestly, I wanted them all… Took a bite, and aiiii, so amazing! It was moist and so chocolatey! It’s a decent sized sweet treat, and I kind of wished it never ended. I saved the red velvet one for the bf, and of course I had to take a bite out of it. That one is just as delicious. Go and get your ding dongs on!
