Although the seafood salsa was very good, the good was mediocre!
But the reason I would never return to this place is… They have their music on their TV extremely extremely loud! Even after asking for them to turn it down (which I have never complained at a restaurant in my life) it was still almost too loud to stand! Then when they turned it off and I started to feel some relief, in walked the live mariachi band and set up right next to me!!! It was much louder than even the TV was! The waitstaff didn’t seem to care! I couldn’t eat my food fast enough to get out of there!!!

Omg North Highland best kept secret… Don’t let the exterior or neighborhood scare you… This place is off the chain. Wifey and I decided to come here after our normal dinner spot was closed… and I’m hecka glad we decided to give this place a chance… Food was on point and the service was great.. I had the garlic shrimp and wifey went with the Diablo shrimp… we kept eating off each other plate that’s how good food was… so damm tasty… I can’t even type right thinking about that food… Most definitely give this place a try…

I love the ceviche appetizer and then ordered the breaded shrimp which was big enough for me to save half for the next day. Will def be back to the islitas at this location.

The food was amazing I had the garlic shrimp and my husband had shrimp cocktail so delicious and very well priced we will definitely be back and love the music and very friendly workers

I ordered two cold cocktails went to pick them up when I got back they were hot cocktails I call them back and they didn’t do anything for me didn’t even apologize to me

Don’t let the outside fool you or the small parking lot discourage you from going in. If you love authentic Mexican food (seafood) then this is the spot for you. When ever I’m there I get the shrimp called Camarones a la Kora which is a lime, chillie shrimp and I also get the Aguachile, which is also cooked in a jalapeño lime juice. They’re both delicious appetizers if your planning on being there for a a while it goes well with a Modelo beer. or Micheladas. I like that sometimes on Sunday’s they have a Norteno Band that comes in. The band charges 10.00 a song so its worth going if you go with a bunch of friends.

service was great. food tasted amazing and fresh. my cocktail was delicious. this is a great place to get good tasting seafood.

Most amazing shrimp I have ever eaten!!! The music is loud and the place is lively. I will be back. Great horchata too in a HUGE glass!

People who complain about the service at places like this are ridiculous. Um this is not Morton’s.
When a girlfriend and I got here on a Saturday afternoon it looked like a truck stop — a bunch of worker type men sitting around drinking beer. Once the food came though, I couldn’t care less about my surroundings. Servings of shrimp in a spicy lime sauce and oysters with delicious toppings such as chopped octopus were shoveled into my mouth.
I took a star away because I would be a little intimidated to come here alone. It’s not the best area, but definitely worth a shot if you crave great Mexican seafood.

Michiladas! Michiladas! Michiladas! If a Michilada is your drink, you’ll be in heaven at Islitas! Traveled over 400 miles for a Michilada! Ok fine, I actually didn’t but I do recommend this place if you’re ever in the Sacramento area. Being from SoCal, a michelada is easy to find, but a great one like this, no where in sight! The service is great and the food is just as good. A real small seafood gem. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Sacramento.

Micheladas are pretty solid! The seafood is authentic and clean. The restaurant is not much for looks but I didn’t mind considering it’s a mom and pop place. AND they have a jukebox. Next time I’m in town I will definitely be visiting for a solid michelada and a shrimp cocktail!

2 stars for: Good service on Mother’s Day taking into consideration how busy they were. Ceviche was good.

The rice is Rice-​a-​Roni no joke!
The beans had what appeared to be bacon bits.
Camarones a la Diabla were not spicy… the sauce had a ketchup taste to it.
Shrimp «Alfredo» was not Alfredo at all! The sauce was butter, butter, and more butter!
It was stuffy and smelled nasty inside. Thankfully we sat outside or else I would have not survived!
Will NOT be coming back! Very disappointed and grossed out! Would not recommend this place to anyone!!!

I like this place, but my friends didn’t so I’ll guess I’ll have to order togo next time… no tips on credit card so bring cash if you want to tip. You should the young lady here never stops working. I tried a combination dinner plate and it came with beans. I totally forgot the name, but it was pictured on the 2^nd to last page. The seafood looks really good, but I wasn’t in the mood for it.

This place is really good, fresh seafood and friendly service.
They dont speak any English but that doesnt matter cause the food speaks for them.

No free refills to many annoying kids and bad service. Waited to seated no line wasn seated for over 15minutes so sat myself down asked for water finished it waiter came along didnt ask if i wanted a refill? Its waiter 101 empty glass have the courtesy to ask.

What??? All the good reviews which I totally disagree. This place is mediocre at best. One waitress during the busy chika lunch time but that’s not why I gave bad review. The shrimp ceviche & mixed seafood cocktail is tasteless & no returns for me thank you.

This is the best restaurant in Sac! The seafood is excellent! From the shrimp empanadas to the 7 seas soup or the garlic shrimp, you can’t go wrong! Absolutely everything is good! If you come on a Sunday the place is packed and there is usually a few groups of Mariachi or La Banda singers providing music. The beers are good and the service is top notch! So stop reading this and get your behind over there!

Ive been hearing nothing but good things about the one on florin and 24^th but this is closer to my house so I hit it up recently and it is… BOMB! So Good!!!
I got the shrimp cocktail bowl with octopus, hands down one of the best pulpo I’ve ever had. mmmmmm…
another thing they do is leave a small bowl of Ceviche and Tostadas on your table to snack on while your waiting for your food… ummm HELL YA! BOMB!
We also ordered a round of Micheladas and as a Michelada Connoisseurs (LMAO) I truly have to say it was Fanfriggintastic! My other two buddy’s whom are also quite verse in the chelada tasting also agreed, the seasoning they use around the rim just may be the best mixture around.
I would totally Rec. this place to anyone! And take anyone of my coastal or southern cal friends.
I hope the make it as not many things in that building before them have, Judging by how packed it was I think that have a great chance!
One thing I do need to mention is our bill, we ordered small (chica) bowls and got charged for larges we told our waiter and he fixed it, accident, maybe? or? like anywhere in the world pay attention.
Seriously, Cant wait to go back!!!

Worst customer service eveeeeeeeer. We came on a Sunday afternoon, and the sign says «wait to be seated» after about 5 mins we decided to sit ourselves, and even had to go get our own menus. After about
10 mins I had with this place because not only did they not sit us, they never came to our table to offer drinks. They are a joke of a restaurant. Save yourself from horrible customer service and instead go the one on Florin & 24^th they have excellent customer service. As for the star given I had to give it at least one to have this review posted if I were for me I wouldn’t have given them squat.

My brother decided to take us here for lunch since we we’re craving seafood. He ordered the ceviche… It was so light and refreshing. It’s the perfect remedy for a hang over. The Micheladas (similar to Bloddy Mary’s) were tasty and also very refreshing. The bistec encebollado (steak and onions) was ok. If your craving fresh seafood, this will be the place believe it or not. I was impressed since you know I am a «city» girl and get all the fresh seafood when at home.
Oh…wait! There is also live music so it does kinda get loud.
