This place is amazing. They are always so friendly and accommodating to me and my odd requests. They make amazing stuff there. The store is very interesting and is always so clean. You can actually see them making things behind the counter. What’s better than usa made? Usa made on a table behind the counter. I truly love this place and highly recommended you check it out.

I am(was) a repeat customer at the beggars pouch until today. I’ve had a custom belt made there and had a leather pistol holster repaired. My father needed a similar repair so we made the hour drive to North Conway to get it fixed. There was a lady behind the counter with short gray hair. We told her what we needed done and she said she couldn’t help us because«…we make hand bags…» The gentleman who fixed my holster was right there on the other end of the store and I told her so, she just looked at me like I hadn’t said anything. She took no initiative. I will never recommend this shop again.

Forget Coach! This place has nice leather for a lot less and for a lot more of a timeless look! Designers are becoming the norm now… This place gives a uniqueness to the sea of loud designers! :) Bags are cut and sewn and final assembled here right in the shop! You will see all sorts of tools of letter stamps and dies as well as many other leather work tools. They carry shoes too primarily dansko and ugg brand. Also carry belt buckles and simple leather cuff snap bracelets that you can have personalized! Their handmade items are worth stopping in here for! I like this shop a lot! Mostly for the handcrafted accessories!

You think you know this shop. You see one in every mall. They sell mass produced purses, wallets, and cheaply made belts. You walk right by. … And that’s your loss, because this is actually a very well done leather shop. Coming from a lifelong vegetarian, that’s pretty much the utmost compliment I can give. To start, the belts are actually strips of leather. They don’t have that weird paper stuff inside that all the mall stores use. You pick your width and color, and they measure your waist and cut a belt to custom-fit you! For the same price as a crappy mall belt, that’s a good deal. They also have gorgeous belt buckles that were hand-made in New Mexico with inlaid wood and semi-precious stones. Really, really nice. Lots of other goods seemed to be artisan-made, which helped me get past the«oh my god I’m standing in a shop full of dead animals» feeling. When we checked out, we learned that the owners refuse to purchase any hides from animals that were not raised for meat. It’s a pretty small step, considering I’m sure the animals were still factory-farmed(I haven’t heard of humane leather, probably because it doesn’t exist), but at least they weren’t tortured and skinned just for the purpose of your belt. Because of this, they don’t sell any mink, fox, or any other furs or leathers from animals that aren’t bred for meat. Definitely still not vegan, but nice that the shop owners are at least considering where their hides come from and trying to make a moral step in the right direction.
