We eat here one evening during our yearly vacation to Cape May… it never disappoints! Food is great value for the price, the place is family fun, service is warm and friendly and, of course, the sunset is spectacular

The only thing good about Harpoon Henry’s was being outdoors with a view of the Delaware Bay — I bet it’s great at sunset. But the food was only ok, at best, and the service not so good. Prices were a joke for what we received. The two of us had one appetizer, one hamburger, some fried fish, and a soda and didn’t get out of there for under $ 50. Oh, wait, more than one soda — they don’t tell you the $ 2.75 price of the soda and, more importantly, they don’t tell you that refilling the small, ice-filled plastic cup would cost another $ 2.75! What a rip-off. So, for one person having two sodas, after tax and tip, you’re paying over $ 6. Unacceptable. The conch fritters were clearly frozen and far too much filling — not very tasty. Fried Grouper was ok — nothing special about it, particularly given the non-generous size at the high cost. A burger was fine, but the frozen fries with it just wern’t cutting it – my wife ate almost none after having to pay extra for them, and I ate very few of my own. The staff kept grabbing things off our table without asking, such as the plastic soda cup that still had ice in it that we wanted to keep in the heat. We also kept seeing several staff spilling food off of plates. Our waitress was friendly, but kept disappearing(it was fairly busy, though). Basically, what a waste of money it was for us.

I enjoy eating healthy food. I also enjoy watching sunsets. While Harpoon Henry’s offers nice sunset views, unfortunately the food is absolutely glutinous. Their options are between fried seafood, buttery pasta, carb burgers and minimal healthy sides. They might argue they offer canned green beans and a side salad, but for those who live a healthy lifestyle, one would HIGHLY recommend coming here for the libations ONLY. Not that this place is a bad bar(quite the contrary) but I do NOT recommend coming here for the food. Come with a full belly, because the food is heart attack central! Ugh… To be fair, the service is good and people are friendly. But the food is absolutely terrible. Wish I’d gone to somewhere else more healthy. Like McDonalds! Haha!

Pet friendly restaurant only open during the warmer season. Huge indoors plus an outdoor seating area, if you come with your dog they will bring you a pitcher of water for your pup. As far as the food goes I wasn’t excited nor was it anything special. Its one of a few restaurants in that area so you don’t have much of a choice. The staff is very friendly and always looking to service you. 3 stars for being pet friendly and the nice staff

I will begin by saying the absolute ONLY thing this place has going for it is its sunset view of the Delaware Bay. With that exception which you can get on the rocks across the street on your own, and for only a couple hours a day, one should never step foot on this property. The atmosphere is forced and sloppy. Rickety tables and chairs on an old deck appearance. The whole place needs a fscelift. There are better places with decks throughout the entire island area of South Jersey. Try one of those instead. The food is at best mediocre and most of the time my experience has been quite poor. I just had to stop coming here. The drinks are served in plastic cups and leave everything to be desired as to alcohol content. They are mostly juices and ice. Which is fine but you are paying high prices for a really bad drink. I had a situation with American Express where they did not take it, which was totally fine, but would not let me leave property to go to a cash machine and there’s was either down or non-existent at the time. So I was forced to borrow money from a friend which was inconvenient and embarrassing. The owner simply said that is his policy and was belligerent, rude and condescending. He told me if I did not like it, I should just buy the place because it’s been for sale and he would love to dump it. Not the reaction that a caring owner should make. All in all, this is DEFINITELYNOT a stop you should make when at the shore! Good Luck with the Sale, I guess…

I frequent this establishment and it is consistently good food and extremely friendly staff! Only once did I have to wait longer than 15 – 20 minutes for a table but they have cornhole to help pass the time. Also very family friendly!!!

It’s a good /ok place. Location for sunset is fantastic. Typical bar that serves food too. The food is okay but not fantastic. Little pricey. Must go early to get a seat. I will say service is poor and not on top of you. We sat by where waitresses and clean up staff were. They could spend more time at tables and less catty talking. Did see several complaints about servers

Cool drinking atmosphere, but the 45 minute wait to eat wasn’t worth it! The food is not good. Understandable that an order of kids Mac and cheese wouldn’t be gourmet… however, serving instant Mac and cheese from the microwave isn’t acceptable. Insult to injury is serving that Mac and cheese to a toddler in the bowl that was microwaves and piping hot. Please take my information and dodge this restaurant.

My boyfriend & I had a great lunch here on Saturday! I had the fish tacos which were very fresh and had just a small kick to them. I love fish tacos but I am always nervous they won’t be fresh or have that«weird» fish taste. Not these! The mahi mahi was so good! The platter came with tri-color tortilla chips that were also really good. Only complaint is they don’t offer guacamole. My boyfriend had the grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and tomato that comes with a side of chips that I think are made at the restaurant. VERY reasonably priced too! 2 meals and 2 beers were about $ 30! We will be back and I already recommended harpoon Henry’s to my parents!

Causal beachside bar that you would expect from the Jersey Shore. Definitely has a Jimmy Buffet type feel. Service was great, bartender was great and gave us great selections. We didn’t try the food but really enjoyed the frozen drinks. View from the outside bar was great, perfect ocean views. Overall chill atmosphere and great ambience for what it is, casual local hangout.

I’ve been here several times each year over the past 15 years food has always been mediocre at best but beautiful sunset. My daughter and I went the other day and had the conch fritters which had hard dark pieces in them they were horrible but we did eat them as we were talking and having fun. Had the fried grouper and she had fish tacos which were both good she ate half of my fish. By the time I got home I was very sick and threw up and my daughter told me she is also throwing up at the restaurant. I did call the restaurant and spoke to the manager she didn’t seem to care too much about it and offered nothing.(which I would never go back anyway) I said I just didn’t want anyone else to be sick that night from what we had and she said okay thanks and that was it. We will never be back again also had a bad experience with that same manager last year too. Should have stopped there.

I love this place! I love the view and the laid back atmosphere and the non-pretentious menu. The staff is young but efficient and dynamic. The food is tasty and priced right! I adore the drink menu and they are always playing fun music that automatically puts a smile on your face — I come here every time I am in Cape May and that is often.

So a bunch of my friends and myself came to this place for an afternoon drink and to have lunch. We ordered a few rounds of drinks from piña coladas to coronas. Then we ordered some food. All good right, right. First not impressed with menu, second food is nothing to brag about mediocre at best. After a couple of hours, we decide would stay there all day until fire works started. Since it is the only place were you could sit eat drink and watch the fire works. The restaurant was having a shift change and they gave us our bill, no problem paid it tipped the girl all good right, right. Then new waiter asks if we would like something else we said of course we do we plan on staying here until closing he said no problem sir we will be here for u until 11. Perfect bring us another round, and we also ordered more food, again not impressed by anything we ate. Conch fritters didn’t taste like conch at all, but we are there for ambiance and the drinks. Another round please, sure no problem. Well around 6:30 after we had been there for a good 4 hours. The waiter informs us that we have reached the two hour table limit. WTF does that mean, sorry sir others want sit and eat. Yes but we are eating we are drinking and we are spending money. We are not drunk we are not disturbing anyone, other tables are chatting with us, we are the perfect table. Spending eating drinking with no limit or budget. I say we will leave but I want to speak the manager or owner, the waiter starts to get aggressive with me and I warn him that if keeps pushing me it would turn into a problem, he said then let’s have a problem. Anyway we walk out to the back entrance where I wait for the manager. She come over and says there is nothing she can do its two hours and that’s that. I said do u throwing us out, she replies oh no one is throwing u out, but u won’t get any more serves. She also says that I am the only one to ever complain about a two hour limit. What a way to treat your customers. These places down here in hicks ville, depend on tourist for most of their income, you would think they would be a bit more great full that we are spending a lot of money, no get out, ok we out, and never to return good bye!!! My advise is you going for a few drinks and quick bite go, but hurry up because you will get thrown out if you take too long

Don’t know where to start. We were WARNED not to come here. My wings came out«literally» burned to a crisp. I wish I had taken an picture, but I was so in shock that a place can screw up wings. They cooked them on a grill top. Who the hell cooks wings on a grill top? Deep fried or baked, that’s it! Only reason this place makes money is because of location. Rather eat a can of tuna fish.

The best thing about this place is the relaxed atmosphere and stunning sunset views over Delaware Bay. Other than that… meh. Drinks were watered down, food was greasy, and the prices were definitely high for what you get. Onion rings might be the best thing on the menu — but don’t make a meal of it! Heartburn will certainly follow. The meal was not worth the $ 100+ for two adults(one drink apiece) and three kids.

This is my first time here. My first impression was«busy». The restaurant was very noisy. I went with a party of six, that’s the reason for the long wait. We went around 6:00, the sunset was beautiful. Beware, you do eat outdoors as the sun goes down u get greeted by some bugs. When the food arrived, it was really good! We had a great time. This place is not for the couple that would like a quiet evening.

Margaritas were made-to-order and very good. They had a nice gentleman playing the uke and singing. The deck is a great place to watch the sunset.

Ive been to harpoon henrys dozens of times, over many years the menu has not changed, all the fried food tastes exactly the same, the prices go up every year and they serve the same blah boring menu. Only thing they have going for them is the view, pretty sad.

First time visiting; nice location, not a huge menu to choose from. Our food was served promptly, considering that it was s busy summer evening(many out of state guests… like me), I was pleased. Would have prefered beverages served in something a little more durable than the plastic ‘Miller Lite’ cups that are easily doinked or hit by a gust of wind off the Delaware :). Overall, decent food quality; local entertainment was a plus. Easy to find — worth another visit.

Good food. Mostly fried. The onion rings are served by the foot! We come for the fun atmosphere, corn hole, beer selection, great sunsets and a walk on the beach after dinner.
